  • Key Specs
    • Image Sensor Size: 2/3” (8.6 x 6.6 mm)
    • Effective Pixels: 14 megapixels (The actual number of pixels which make up the viewable image.)
  • General
    • Brand: Ricoh
    • Model Number: 03128
    • Product Name: WG-80 16.0 Megapixel Waterproof Digital Camera
    • Color: Orange
    • Digital Camera Type: Point and Shoot Cameras
  • Imaging
    • Image Sensor Type: CMOS (CCD and CMOS are the two main technologies used in image sensors. CCD, the older of the two types, turns analog light signals into digital pixels. This conversion happens without distortion, resulting in high-quality images. Newer CMOS sensors use transistors at each pixel to move electrical charges. CMOS sensors are typically less expensive, but also require more light to create distortion-free images.)
    • Image Sensor Size: 2/3” (8.6 x 6.6 mm)
    • Digital Zoom: 5x (A digital zoom is accomplished electronically, with no adjustment of the camera's optics, and no optical resolution gained in the process. The existing data is not enhanced or added to, merely displayed at a lower resolution, thereby giving an illusion of an enlarged image.)
  • Focus
    • Autofocus: true (Allows the camera to automatically focus through the lens, rather than by adjusting the lens manually.)
    • Eye Autofocus (Eye AF): true (Automatically seeks out and focuses on the subject's eye and holds it as the camera and subject move and as the photographer shoots at high frame rates.)
  • Exposure Control
    • Shutter Speeds: 1/4000 to 4 Seconds (The length of time the shutter remains open when the shutter release is activated, expressed in fractions of seconds. The longer the shutter is open, the more light that is able to be captured by the camera sensor.)
    • Effective Pixels: 14 megapixels (The actual number of pixels which make up the viewable image.)
  • Flash
    • Integrated Flash: true
  • Compatibility
    • Memory Card Compatibility: Secure Digital, Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC), Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) (The type of memory card(s) recommended for use with the product.)
  • Features
    • Integrated GPS: No
  • Connectivity
    • Wireless Connectivity: None (The manner in which a device sends data to another device over a short distance without the use of wires or cables.)
    • PictBridge Enabled: false (PictBridge allows digital cameras, camcorders and other image capture devices to connect and print directly to photo printers and other output devices without using a computer.)
  • Power
    • Rechargeable Battery: true
  • Performance
    • Maximum Depth of Water Resistance: 45.9 feet (Measurement of the maximum depth of water in which the product is able to resist some degree of water penetration.)

Tough and versatile, the Ricoh WG-80 is a compact, durable, and flexible point-and-shoot designed for everyday and extreme adventures alike. A reinforced physical construction renders it waterproof for depths up to 45.9' and shockproof from heights of 5.2', as well as freeze, crush, and dustproof. In regard to imaging capabilities, the WG-80 features a 16MP 1/2.3" back-illuminated CMOS sensor, which enables high-resolution stills shooting and Full HD 1080p video recording, as well as a sensitivity range up to ISO 6400 to suit working in a variety of situations. A 5x optical zoom lens also contributes to this flexibility, which covers a wide-angle to telephoto 28-140mm equivalent focal length range, and is complemented by Pixel Track, Movie, and Digital SR modes to help realize sharper imagery when shooting handheld. Additionally, the WG-80 also incorporates a 2.7" 230k-dot LCD monitor, which uses an Outdoor View Setting mode for improved visibility in bright lighting conditions, and six LED lights also surround the lens to help illuminate close-up subjects when working with the Digital Microscope mode. Featuring a 16MP 1/2.3" BSI CMOS sensor, the WG-80 is capable of recording high-resolution stills and Full HD 1080p video to 30 fps. The sensor also affords a sensitivity range of ISO 125-6400, for working in a variety of lighting conditions, and its back-illuminated design helps to reduce noise for improved clarity and color fidelity.

  • Tough body construction: The WG-80 is designed for all shooting conditions. It features underwater performance to depths of 45’ for up to 2 hours of continuous shooting, shockproof against falls from a height of 5.2’, freezeproof to 14F and is crushproof against weights up to 220lbf.
  • High resolution with all the must-have features: With a high-performance image processing engine and a back-illuminated CMOS sensor boasting high optical efficiency and an effective 16 megapixel, the WG-80 takes low-noise photos with a wide dynamic range that look beautiful even as prints.
  • Digital microscope mode: This allows for super macro shooting which standard cameras or smartphones cannot. Six LED Macro Lights are positioned around the lens to provide bright, uniform illumination on a subject. Recording image size can be selected from 12M, 5M, 4M, and 2M in 16:9 aspect
  • High accuracy face detection: When the high-speed Face Detection Function is turned ON, the WG-80 can capture up to 32 people’s faces in focus in approximately 0.03 seconds. It automatically sets the focus (Face Detection AF) and compensates the exposure (Face Detection AE)
  • Underwater shooting modes: Optimize color, contrast, and white balance settings to deliver clearer, more color-accurate imagery when working in underwater conditions.

Q: How do you transfer pictures to your phone?

A: Saved to card, insert to computer, email to self, open on phone, save to phone. Or, plug camera directly into USB port on computer and save, then transfer to phone via email. my camera was the WG-4 that I have had for 8 years and it finally stopped being able to use flash.
