Its a cool little chime, works as described with easy set up. Can adjust volume and pick different rings on the Ring App in your cell phone.

It links up easily with the Ring app / base station, and works reliably. However, even though this is the improved version, I wish it was louder. Also, minor item, but it would be nice if all of these had an optional night light, instead of just the Pro.

1- Problem with image of person ringing the doorbell. It only shows a shadow due to high contrast with sunlight in the background. 2- Static noise in the phone when answering the ring.

Hi Satisfied.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand how important it is for your Ring Chime (3nd Gen.) to record clear and concise videos and audio so that you can effectively monitor your home. The features and technology provided by the Ring Chime (3nd Gen.) are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We want to ensure your device is working as intended by providing you with solutions to resolve the audio and video quality concerns you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected in regards to both video quality and audio. We are happy to share some tips with you for troubleshooting why your Ring device may be experiencing issues with video quality and may be producing poor audio.
Poor wifi can often cause Ring device issues, including video quality and capturing audio. Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI. If your networking equipment hasn’t been power cycled in a while, try unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in.
If you are experiencing image issues due to backlighting, we recommend following these steps to optimize your video quality:
* Enable HDR (High Dynamic Range): In the Ring app, go to Device Settings, then Video Settings and turn on "HDR." This helps balance the brightness between the foreground and background for a clearer image. Please note that the HDR feature is available only on selected devicese.
* Adjust the camera angle: Try tilting the camera slightly downward to reduce the amount of direct sunlight entering the lens.
* Consider repositioning the device: If possible, mounting the doorbell in a location with some overhead cover (such as under an eave or awning) can help reduce the backlighting effect.
