I installed a wireless, battery powered Ring 3 Plus on a side door with no existing doorbell when they were first released around April 2020. We liked it so much, we wanted another Ring doorbell at our front door, but because of a stone exterior at the front door, there was no flat surface to mount something like the Ring 3. We did have an old intercom speaker mounted in the wall that didn't work that well. I found an electrician who was able to fabricate a PVC plate to cover up the old intercom space and mount the Ring Elite in its place. It turned out great. II had a CAT 5 cable already in place for the intercom, so just had to put the appropriate connector onto the wire and plug it into the Ring Elite. Picture quality is great. No worries about batteries because the Elite gets power over the cable. And no issues with connectivity to the internet as with some of the wireless cameras. This doorbell connects instantly and has been rock solid. I wish Ring would come up with some better installation options for wired cameras. If you can get a CAT 5 cable to the camera, it does a great job.

Our first Ring doorbell. We love the Ring Elite and it's sleek look. The phone app notifies efficiently and the audible is very good. Great performance!

The product is amazing, great in every way. The only issue I had was how incredibly difficult it was to install and run wires seamlessly thru my wall.

I was looking for a smart doorbell that was compatible with POE(power over Ethernet). After doing my research it came down to this doorbell and the door-bird. I ended up choosing ring because their user interface is much better. This doorbell is not as easy to install as the regular ring doorbell because it does require a flush mount install. Ring does provide everything you need in the box including a junction box if you do not already have one installed. Once you get the junction box installed all you have to do is plug in your Ethernet cable and existing doorbell wire(if you plan on using your existing doorbell chime) and follow the setup instructions in the app. You are not required to have a POE switch because ring does provide a power kit for a POE install. Many people complain of getting to many false motion alerts however you can easily adjust the motion zone and sensitivity in the app to help eliminate false alerts. I had a question about the Ring chime so I contacted RING support through their toll free number and I was able to get a live support specialist who was able to answer my question within 5 minutes.

The Ring Video Doorbell Elite is a high-end, flush-mounted doorbell camera that offers a sleek design and impressive functionality. Its standout feature is Power over Ethernet (PoE), which provides reliable power and connectivity without needing Wi-Fi. The Elite captures crisp 1080p HD video, has customizable motion zones, and offers two-way audio, allowing users to speak with visitors from their phone or other devices. Its integration with the Ring app and compatibility with Amazon Alexa make it a good choice for smart home users. While installation is more complex and requires professional wiring, the Elite is a solid option for anyone looking for a more permanent, high-performance video doorbell. The higher price point is justified for those seeking the stability and clarity that PoE brings.

Excellent product. The Ring Doorbell is a reliable smart home device offering clear video quality, motion detection, and two-way audio. Its app integration allows remote monitoring, enhancing home security. Installation is straightforward, and customizable alerts are helpful. However, advanced features require a subscription. Overall, it’s a convenient, effective security solution for homeowners.

After using Logitech and Amcrest I say Ring is far better than any security camera I have used. The set up was easy, even connecting the wire section. The price is a bit high, if Ring would lower their cost with even better quality they could not make enough to satisfy those who buy them. I would highly recommend Ring to anyone, these cameras not only discourage people from commiting crimes against businesses and residential owners it catches every detail with outstanding clarity. No other security camera I have owned matches to ring.

Not less you aren’t worried about anyone or folks coming to your house then this is the system for you but if you want a real system then go with company: Has to be by far the worthless security system of the century half the time it won’t work or it will tell hog activating live feed. It’s just a piece of crap but it’s cheap but not the system for criminals:

Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with answering your doorbell from your Ring App. Rapid Ring is a "light" version of the classic Ring app with most of the features stripped out except for the ability to activate a Live View and respond to an event as quickly as possible. By using the Rapid Ring app in conjunction with the original Ring app, you'll be able to answer your notifications as quickly as possible. With this ring doorbell it has the feature to hook up via power over Ethernet and is super easy to set up and install. Would recommend this product to anyone who wants a wired doorbell.

This is a great choice for a video doorbell. It has a wired Ethernet PoE connection, so no batteries or WiFi. Add as many Ring Chimes as you want throughout your house and you’re all set. This install may require a pro since you will need to fish wire in a wall and it is a more involved installation.

bought like 15 different versions of this and none of them worked properly. It is really important to make sure your electrician knows what they are doing and tells you which version of the doorbell is the correct one for your home.

Excellent solution for having less things on your WiFi. Love how it can integrate and show up on other things like my fridge. My only gripe is that installation in an older home is not very fun. That however is not ring’s fault Very pleased with the purchase I recommend it.

I had a skybell and it was slow and went off every time a car drove by. On this one you can set up where you would like it to look for motion and it works almost prefect. It does need a cat five to door location though.
