A: I’m answering my own question here, but yes it works a so hoped it would. I am now running two monitors in extended mode. One monitor from the dvi port with hdmi adapter and the second from the built-in hdmi.

A: DVI does not include audio; it is only a video signal. A separate mic (or optical) cable must be used to carry the audio signal
