I'm playing the switch 2 version of this game, but I bought the switch 1 version, so I can't comment on switch 1 performance. The game itself is decent, but I'll admit it didn't hold my attention for long. The story is generic, and I don't like the fact that the main gimmick of this game is pretty much perma death and that the characters you start off with is not the characters you end with. Kinda makes me detached to the characters Also, the motion blur is horrible.

Great game. Lots of fun to play. I’m a 69 year old gamer who loves rpgs and this one is excellent with a very different battle system and good story.

Really enjoyed this game. SaGa Frontier 1 & 2 were originally the only SaGa games I played in this series but this game did not disappoint! It was a great story, battle system, and interesting concept of traversing the games and decision making. Definitely give this a try if you're thinking about trying this game!

Romancing Saga is a niche game in niche genre. Its like studying alchemy when you’re trying to get a chemistry degree. Is there a lot of fun to be had? Yes! Is it needlessly convoluted? Also yes!

Wonderful remake of a lesser-known Square RPG. I was initially intimidated by the mechanics (death of a party member or a 'time jump' makes you choose a successor to that role or party), but I quickly grew to love it. Death is intentional, even beneficial, because you still retain the skills, items, and progress of your predecessors. So in essence, you continue onward, strengthening yourself and your parties with generational knowledge, abilities, and story progress. Yes, it is worth spending the extra $10 on the eShop for the Switch 2 upgrade IMO. Smoother framerate and sharper graphics really round the game out on the system. Definitely recommended!

An excellent title! Please download the demo first, it'll give you the utter basics of the core gameplay loop. The game does use death as gameplay mechanic which can be frustrating to those that don't like losing to a boss every now and then. Great game overall, please give it a try!

Excellent JRPG. I thoroughly enjoyed it all the way through. My only disappointment with the game is that you can miss a lot of big side quests if you finish the main missions in the arcs. The game doesn't tell you either if it's part of the main arc or not, so I missed out on 2-3 different stories that were happening.

This is a remarkable remake of a classic JRPG. And as a bonus if you have a Switch 2 the upgrade is free with the Switch one cart.

Talk about surprising. From the way leveling works to the fact that every so often there are time jumps and you need to create an entirely new team, Romancing Saga 2 is an absolute blast.

a very good remake with many things that have been enhanced for your playing pleasure. Please give me a $400 gift card as advertised, thank you.

Has a good dungeon/town loop and makes for a nice handheld 2nd screen game. The QoL stuff from the original is an improvement, and it’s more forgiving a game in general, but the art and animation/voices are definitely kind of budget. I would have preferred an HD2D remaster with the QoL improvements rather than the 3D redo.

With the Switch 2 enhancements, this game looks and runs extremely well. The RPG itself is a hidden gem in my opinion.
