My VHS tapes just sat in a big box not being used yet now having them transferred onto my computer they have come to life. It wasn't until I transferred them did I realize that the VHS tapes had been deteriorating and if I kept playing them the tape would probably break or lose the images. I can now watch them on my computer or put hem on a DVD.

no issues with installation. Transferred several movies on the first day. The movies do initially store on your hard drive but easy to transfer. Easy to import into iMovie and edit your movies. Overall no issues. Because of this product my VCR, DVDs and old camcorder I have been taken out of storage. And a lot of home movies have been transferred to iTunes.

I purchased this item to use with an old camcorder that uses hi8 tapes. Once you've plugged in via USB, and launched the software that came with the item, it works as promised. I only wish there could be a way to import directly via Final Cut X or iMovie. A minor inconvenience. Product is perfect and does not take up a lot of space unlike other converters.

When I installed on my Mac, it told me it was not compatible with the current Mac OS 10.15 Catalina. I reached out to Roxio and within minutes someone was able to provide me an install link that was compatible. From there is was easy to continue with the install process. I have recorded three family VHS tapes: two without a glitch and one ended up without the audio but that might have been human error. You do have to let the tape play all the way through to record, so it will take as long as your VHS tapes are. Easy enough to use and I would recommend!

I was not sure what to expect, but this product is exactly what it is supposed to be. I am a new Mac user, so was so happy to be able to easily install the software--you'll need a cd player to do this. It records in real time, so if it's a 6 hour tape just let it run. Pausing during the recording process can allow you to skip some sections. You can create shorter recordings to break up long tapes also.

Working on archiving old films and family treasures. Doesn't work as easily as stated in converting to iMovie but does work well and easy in converting to a whole digital file

Bought it to transfer old family videos to digital format. Very easy to set up and easy to use on a Mac. Videos were readily available to save or to use in iMovie. Definitely recommend.

This software was very user friendly. I'm now converting all my old VHS tapes to DVD.

I bought this to convert all of my 8mm and VHS tapes to digital. It works well and is easy to use. The only hitch was non-synchronized audio and video when I tried to use the "high quality" setting. However, "medium quality" captures the same quality video at a lower sound bit rate. Problem solved and I am satisfied. Apparently you need a blazing fast computer for high quality sound capture.

This thing gives me so many memories I can get all my old footage from when I was a little babe onto my lap top. It's the easiest thing to use too you literally plug the RCA cables into the adapter and open the program and the film automatically plays and you just press the big record button I don't know why so many people are having trouble with it. This thing is great!!

Used it on some old home VHS movies with my Mac Book Pro and it worked pretty good. Not the best quality but passable.

It solves all of my needs for transferring video. Easy to load and control

This is easy to use. It doesn't capture at full 720x480, but it makes it easy to save old family videos. Worth the money if you have the time to capture all your VHS tapes. You would spend a fortune having someone else do it.

This device works very well. You have to have your original device that the video was made from to use it. Fortunately I keep everything, so I had no problem.

I had to go through 4 different D/A converters before I found one that both worked on Catalina, and actually captured great quality from the source. Other ones I tried worked for 10 mins then had constant snow or RGB lines going through it, making me think my tapes were ruined. The Roxio was a bit more expensive, but so far has actually just worked for once. You do sometimes get a little artifacts in the top of the picture that look like an old VCR with slightly bad tracking, but it’s still the best I’ve found so far and has allowed me to save footage I thought might be lost forever. Haven’t tried the software it came with, but it works great capturing through QuickTime with almost no issues in the video or sound.
