Double vinyl LP pressing. Live archive from the rock icon. Roxy - Tonight's The Night Live is one of the most sought-after recordings from his vast archives. This was the first public performance of many of the songs that would make up Young's seminal album Tonight's The Night, which would not be released until June 1975. The album's final track InchWalk OnInch would not appear until the of On The Beach, in July 1974. Young would be the first artist to christen the stage at what would become one of the world's great clubs, The Roxy Theater on the riotous Sunset Strip, right next door to the already infamous Rainbow Bar & Grille. The shows took place on September 20-22, 1973. Produced by Young and the late David Briggs, these resultant recordings were mixed by John Nowland with updated post-production and mastering by John Hanlon - along with Chris Bellman - at Bernie Grundman Mastering using the original analog master tape source. Close your eyes and you'll be right there in that dark, smoky, 500 capacity room in West, L.A. on a hot summer night in 1973. Tonight's The Night would go on to be named one of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time, and universally praised for it's dark honesty and unapologetic raw delivery. The very same can be said for Roxy - Tonight's The Night Live. Album Tracks 1. Intro (Live) 2. Tonight's the Night (Live) 3. Roll Out the Barrel (Live) 4. Mellow My Mind (Live) 5. World on a String (Live) 6. Band Intro (Live) 1. Speakin' Out (Live) 2. Candy Bar Rap (Live) 3. Albuquerque (Live) 4. Perry Como Rap (Live) 5. New Mama (Live) 6. David Geffen Rap (Live) 7. Double magenta colored vinyl LP pressing. 3 Feet High and Rising is the debut studio album by hip hop trio de la Soul and was released on March 3, 1989. It marked the first of three full-length collaborations with producer Prince Paul, which would become the critical and commercial peak of both parties. Critically, as well as commercially, the album was a success. It contains the singles, InchMe Myself and IInch, InchThe Magic Number, Inch InchBuddy, Inch and InchEye KnowInch. The album title came from the Johnny Cash song InchFive Feet High and RisingInch. It is listed on Rolling Stone's 200 Essential Rock Records and The Source's 100 Best Rap Albums. When Village Voice held it's annual Pazz & Jop Critics Poll for 1989, 3 Feet High and Rising was ranked #1. It was also listed on the Rolling Stone's The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Released amid the 1989 boom in gangsta rap, which gravitated towards hardcore, confrontational, violent lyrics, de la Soul's uniquely positive style made them an oddity beginning with the first single, InchMe, Myself and IInch. Their positivity meant many observers labeled them a InchhippieInch group, based on their declaration of the InchD.A.I.S.Y. AgeInch (Da. Inner. Soul. Yall). Sampling artists as diverse as Hall & Oates, Steely Dan and The Turtles, 3 Feet High and Rising is often viewed as the stylistic beginning of 1990s alternative hip hop (and especially jazz rap). Album Tracks 1. A 1 Intro 2. A 2 the Magic Number 3. A 3 Change in Speak 4. A 4 Cool Breeze on the Rocks (The Melted Version) 5. A 5 Can U Keep a Secret 6. A 6 Jenifa Taught Me (Derwin's Revenge) 7.
