The Saffire XL Two-Piece Heat Deflector allows you to cook your food indirectly, using radiant heat, for a thorough cook all the way through. Turn the temperature down and the heat deflector allows you to smoke for long hours without burning your food. Made of the same ceramic that makes kamado grills so powerful as a cooking appliance, the heat deflector holds the heat in near the charcoal, and allows only part of the heat to rise up and around to cook the food evenly from all directions at once! With this Two-Piece Heat Deflector, there is no need for water pans to keep the bottom of your food from burning. In addition, the heat deflector turns your Saffire kamado into a ceramic oven. Kamados are well known for making pizza, but all types of food are possible, including pot pies and potatoes. Plus, with this Two-Piece Heat Deflector, use only half of the heat deflector in your grill at a time to create a slow-cooking zone you can set your food aside in.
