Q: Does this microwave need to be vented? Can I install without a top vent?

A: NO - it does not HAVE to be vented - read the specs. I am having this installed today. It is convertible - meaning it can be installed in a way where the venting goes through the filter (which comes with it) and back into the room. OR, it can be vented. EITHER.

Q: Love the microwave but the little LEDs are not bright enough to see the range top well, even on the high setting. Are there any replacement light modules that would be brighter?

A: I don't think so -- what they need to do is ADD another light or 2 so you can see across the entire range top. I have complained to Samsung about that too.

Q: Are the keys on a glass or plastic covered control panel?

A: A plastic covered control panel. We are very happy with our most recent purchase from BB.

Q: Does this unit come with the wall plate required for instillation?

A: yes, it is attached to the microwave when you receive it.

This Microwave does it ALL!
Very nice and stylish over-the-range microwave! Fingerprint resistant black stainless steel is the way to go. Every option you can dream of including soften-melt, pizza, potato, veggies, 4 speed exhaust and hi-lo lighting options. Samsung has hit a home-run with this unit. Recommend having a professional install and remount the motor for internal exhaust. Highly recommend!

Beautiful and Intuitive
Although I purchased this microwave at the beginning of January, it did not get installed until the end of January. It looks great...the plate is actually bigger than the one from my last microwave and the controls are very intuitive. I did not get a manual with it... so I need to go online and pull one down. What I know of it right now is that I am happy with my purchase and it’s delivery.
