Bought this monitor for school and work and so far has turned out great. Have not had any problems and is more then good enough for what I need. It also has some decent gaming capabilities as well.

The Samsung S27A804UJN monitor is a good quality IPS display monitor for home & office use. The 4k resolution and large 27" size facilitates multitasking. It does not seem to be targeted toward commercial content creation, so for that consider a more premium 4k or 5k monitor with DisplayHDR500 certification or better. Not sure about the actual color accuracy of this monitor though Samsung does include "stunning color accuracy" among its claims. It supports HDR10 but does not have a DisplayHDR certification; it is just a business class monitor made with 4k resolution. The USB-C charging port and USB 3x3.0 hub functions as designed, a convenient built-in feature. I did not have any problems with the monitor going to sleep when the display signal from the computer shuts off (I have a PC not a Mac). There is no observable difference whether I plug the supplied USB cable into the Thunderbolt 4 port or the regular USB-C port on the PC. The monitor's USB hub also powers my lightbar with no issues, even when the display signal goes to sleep, the hub is not dependent on the docked computer for power (the spec sheet does indicate they are "downstream" ports but they output power without the PC docked, lightbar stays on). All of the features and functions in the monitor's menu operate as described in the user manual. The only feature I could not test is the PIP/PBP as I did not have a second video source. Also, the autodimming does not dim the monitor too dimly when the ambient light is reduced, useful for working but would be nice if I could tweak it to go lower (my own preference, not a complaint). Accessing the menu and using the buttons is easy and convenient, they are at the base of the monitor all in one spot with good tactile feel and response. The button pad configuration is a good design IMO. You can download the latest firmware from Samsung and install it through the monitor's USB "service" port. I did this but it gave a message saying that it already had the latest revision. The monitor stand is beefy/good quality and rotates and tilts, and has built-in cord management. Between this and the docking capability, I did not have to separately buy a monitor arm/stand nor a standalone dock. The S8 Viewfinity series was launched in 2021. The one I received was made in late 2024, so I think Samsung puts their name behind it to still be making them four years later. I believe they have some newer variants that have 400 (450?) nits max brightness and 1500:1 or better static contrast ratio (this model has 300 nits and 1000:1 contrast) but not the built-in dock. The 34-inch models all seemed to have VA displays so better contrast and refresh rates but the IPS display on this one renders colors magnificently. At the time of this writing, Best Buy is offering this monitor for less than $200 USD - given its $419 list price, I could not find a better deal on a brand new monitor having these features, specs and quality build. Free shipping, I received it about 12 hours after ordering. I would have bought a pair if my desk was large enough.

Great design but with some flaws. The color is not that accurate - the white looks grey and yes different color profiles give the same result. Should be much better given its price. Also it has bug in input switch. With type-C connected to my mac, if the Mac goes to sleep, it will constantly try to re-connect to it and the display will turn on constantly, show no signal from type-c and go off. This is super annoying and I have to turn off the monitor at night

I've had this monitor for four months. I connect it to my MacBook, and the colors are amazing. It's the most satisfying Samsung monitor I've ever used.

Crisp and clear images. The colors are vivid and really pop. Seems to work well with photo and video
