Q: Is this TV HDMI 2.1 compatible?
A: Port 4 on the one connect box is hdmi 2.1 I know that it is hard to find this info but I have verified it myself.
A: The TV is held upright by two metal sort of L-shaped legs that attach to the back of the TV. Each of the legs is 3/8 inch thick and there is 42 inches inside-to-inside between the two 8 1/2 inch long metal "feet", yielding an outside-to-outside measurement of about 43". The legs hold the TV screen upright with 2 5/8" clearance between the bottom of the TV screen and the table on which the TV sits. Those "feet" both extend 3 1/2" behind the TV screen. It bears mentioning that all of the connections for the HDMI cables attach to a "one connect" box-like device, which then sends a signal through a single cable routed through a path on the back of the TV to the center of the rear of the TV screen, where it connects and needs to be secured by a screw (included in the packaging). Samsung cautions that the "one connect" box should receive adequate ventilation, which means that it needs to sit on the table behind the TV, itself, so leave about 5"-6" of room behind the TV for that box.
Q: How does this tv play low resolution like 480p and 720p ?
A: The TV up scales every resolution to 8k. In order to do this some programs in lower resolutions will have black vertical bars on both sides of the video/tv show/movie.
Q: I see it comes with a 16' fiber cable. I see no fiber inputs listed. What's the fiber for?
A: It is for an external Audio connection: If you connect an external audio device using an optical cable, the Sound Output setting is automatically changed to the connected device. A: Yes this Tv and Q8, Q9s that are the 2019 model all have 2.1 hdmi ports. You will need to go into general settings>external devices and then change the ports to amplify the signal
