I’ve used the same drive so far I’ve gotten in 2 daily use tech items. The first was an HP ProDesk mini desktop computer and the second is PS4 slim I got to replace our living room streaming Blu ray player. It’s fantastic so far. I have only had good experiences with Samsung Drives and now they are in all of my computers. The HP, running windows 11, is muuuuuch slower without a reliable drive. It boots up so quickly! Windows can run flawlessly all day. The PlayStation 4 Slim is running crisp and snappy. It didn’t seem to like system update 13.0.0 very much with its old Hitachi HDD. I had another already with a 4tb Samsung QVO which had no problems with so I went ahead and put this 500gb EVO in… no issues at all! My Mac Mini from late 2014 still does so much as daily driver, and it’s got 1tb 860 from 6-7 years ago in it. Great drives! I found it easy to work with as well. Migrates Operating Systems and formats/erases with ease! These will make you rethink getting a new computer… for under $100!

I recently built a PC for a relative who solely does office work (checking e-mail, browsing the internet, managing groups of people, etc.), and this SSD has done the job perfectly so far. While this SSD is capable, it is important to understand its limitations. First off, the continuous read and write speeds are about 550 and 400 mb/s accordingly, with random r/w speeds being much slower. This is roughly 1/10th of the speed of a NVMe 4.0 SSD, so don't expect this SATA to be great for photo/video editing, video games, extended file transfers, or super fast OS boots. The price when I bought mine (500GB) was $89.99, and I now see that the price has risen to $300. $90 wasn't great value, and I strongly advise against buying this for $300, as you can get much faster drives with larger capacity for less. Overall, I would consider this a good drive if you mainly use your PC for office work, don't need a ton of storage, and if the price is under $100.

I picked this up specifically to use as an external drive for my old Wii U (paired with a SATA-to-USB adapter), and it’s been nothing short of perfect. Fast load times, smooth installs, and rock-solid stability — even during big game transfers. Absolutely no interference, no disconnects, and no overheating. This drive is also whisper-quiet and power-efficient, which makes it great for consoles, media servers, or any custom setup. Samsung’s reliability speaks for itself, and this 870 EVO lives up to the hype. If you want a plug-and-play SSD that performs flawlessly across the board, this is the one to get — whether it’s for modern PC builds or breathing new life into old hardware.

Bought this at some point last year and after using it as a backup drive for a few months I was given a laptop which had a hdd, so naturally I swapped it out for this one. It has been running great since, haven’t had any loading issues or anything else to complain about (This is my laptop’s current C: drive, being used alongside a 1tb nvme to dual boot Linux mint) The other drive in the picture is unrelated it’s just the only picture I had of it before putting it in my laptop

Fantastic SSD! I installed this in an old Dell Optiplex 9020, and now that 7 year old desktop is super snappy and responsive! Programs open instantly, and Windows 10 boots in seconds. It's truly amazing just how "new" and old computer can feel with an SSD. Keep in mind that this certainty isn't the fasted SSD ever - an NVME SSD will give much greater performance. But if you're upgrading an older PC that will only support a SATA SSD, this is a fantastic choice. Samsung SSD's are known for their performance and reliability and this one doesn't disappoint! I attached screenshots showing a speed comparison between my old 500GB Hard Drive and this new Samsung SSD. While benchmarks don't always tell the whole story, it is interesting to see just how much faster the read and write speeds of the SSD are.

I was a little reluctant to buy the 870 EVO because of the issue I had last year. Last year I ordered the 860 EVO and that drive kept producing corrupted files. My assumption was either it was a lack of compatibility or the drive was damaged through the shipping. So I took a chance and bought this 870 EVO and I have to say I love it! So far I haven't had any issues and this SSD has made a 10 year old computer run like a new machine. Being a content creator of a popular YouTube channel I do highly recommend this product. I did run a benchmark test to see how well it is doing, which is posted below.

Samsung SATA ssd are still the best in the market . They always improve their tech and are very efficient for everyday use . I use mine for extra storage in my laptop and is fast . I only use Samsung products for storage and memory because they are that reliable.

Faster operating and quicker start ups. The original hard drive had began over-clocking but had been in use since 2013! The solid state drive is far superior and is compatible with the processor.

Swapped out my ps4’s old hdd and this ssd sped up everything from boot to load times. Flawless no complaints at all would recommend for any console storage upgrade if it has a hdd

I didn't even know my laptops hard drive was failing until I took it to Best Buy for a windows upgrade. The laptop had 1TB but I was only using 10% of that so they told me a 500GB would work just fine and it does, things are much quicker with the new Samsung-870 EVO 500GB Internal SSD SATA

As a rule of thumb (and in my opinion) - Samsung is one of the best brands in electronics. I use their components for projects, replacement parts, and their company is my first choice in consumer\professional products. I am using this drive to expand the storage on my Korg Kronos X. However, I am a certified computer and electronic technician, so you do have to know, or get passed the learn curves to do these type of "projects".

Great brand, this SSD went into a vision mixer. A television broadcast mixer called a Tricaster. You can't go wrong with the reliability of a Samsung. They are one of the trusted manufactures.

I've had a really good experience with 840 and 860 EVOs in my other machines so it made since to get this to replace a failed SanDisk Ultra II in my HP 6200 Pro. It looks like it is a little bit faster than the SanDisk and the Magician SSD software is a big plus with these Samsung drives. I'll update if anything changes!

Installed in a desktop. Used Window's Disk Management to create a partition and format the drive. I'm getting 505MB/s write and 535MB/s read. Using the drive for game installs. Zero issues.
