Superior drive. Fast. Reliable. Good manufacturers warranty. I think 5 years. Expensive but worth the premium. Serious drive for serious computer users. 500gb for $80. 1TB for $100

Gaming, video editing and graphic design, I am enjoying the speed up to 6900/5000 mb/s reads and writes keeping up with what I need to do. It is compact and was easy to replace, if unsure, just read the manual. I like that it stays cool while performing at fast speeds. I usually build my pcs with the best of the best and almost every year I replace for better and faster and this is one of those products that play well. Definitely it is an upgrade to have for faster and smoother computer. I also like the Samsung Magician Software, another tool to monitor the health while optimizing and best of all to keep it up to date. It came in a small box nicely packaged and ready to be installed.

Fast, stable, reliable, runs cool. This is my 3rd 980 purchased for various builds. Great product! Paired with a 10400, 11400, and 5600X. Almost instant boots.

The Samsung SSD 980 was simple to install. It delivered the advertised speeds. It was immediately recognized by my BIOS. OS boot times are short and programs load from it in a snap. Perfectly suits my needs. Would purchase again if I need more space.

I must say that this Samsung 980 PRO 500GB Internal Gaming SSD is a definite Must Have drive for anyone who seriously considers gaming and any high productivity computing. This little stick has so much to offer and I am glad I purchase it. Installation is quick and smooth. And then the magic begins: in-game menu switching is instantaneous, load times are super fast thanks to its powerful transfer rates. Also this drive delivers 2x the data transfer rate of PCIe 3.0, while maintaining compatibility with PCIe 3.0, so if your PC does not have latest PCIe 4.0 you are still in good hands! I am looking forward to putting this drive to use in my PS5, it will be a definite upgrade. I am very pleased with its performance and cannot even imagine having something faster in the future. I mean this drive is really more than enough for any game user.

This was my first NVMe drive. I have always been a SATA SSD guy. I was upgrading my rig with a new board and modern processor. My board had a PCIe 4 NVMe port and I decided to get this drive to maximize the system speed. Oh my. I have never seen a machine boot so fast. Everything just flies. Apps install in a blink (obviously it depends on what is being installed). You will not regret it. But, to get the faster speeds you have to have a CPU and board that will support the Gen 4 NVMe. I have always been happy with Samsung SSDs. The software they give you is great for managing the drives. You get the quality extras with Samsung that you will not see with the really cheap drives. I use the software to provision the drive with less space and increase the life of the drive allowing it to replace aged memory cells if needed. I have been on some of my SSDs for over five years. I also have moved certain OS features off of the SSD to spinning drive (file replication for one) to significantly reduce the write actions on the drive. Never had a Samsung device fail on me at home. At work we had one that was dead out of the box. Samsung replaced it under the warranty.

I use this drive as my windows boot, as well as anything not related to gaming or storing executables I use often. Windows boots up instantly.

So my laptop came with a 1T hard drive but it would always take so long to boot up and actually get some work done. I've heard that installing an SSD would make it faster but i wanted to keep the 1T drive on it because it has all my information files on it and didn't want to risk losing them. That's when i figured out that my laptop has a PCie slot in the motherboard and right away I searched this up, purchased it, and installed it on to my laptop and WOW. Booting up my laptop takes seconds now and it quickly responds to any tasks i throw it at now. Overall it's a great investment if you're looking to upgrade your storage and make your PC faster.

So far so good, I purchase 5, and have implemented 3, which seem to be doing a lot better performance wise than the last drive, no contest.

The price is on top compared to other gen4 Nvme drives, but the quality is also on the top side. I picked it since I want my OS and applications to have the best home. If you have the budge, get 980 pro, it will serve well long time. To copy from the old drive, I used Macrium Reflect Free to copy the partitions whole, and used AOMEI Partition Assistant to resize them. Painless migration.

Great thing about Samsung, they make all their parts for their SSD's, unlike other companies who will sometimes try to cheap out on certain parts on their SSD's. This also means a more stable SSD since the memory, controller, etc. are all Samsung. Now to the more important stuff, Gen 4 equals supa dupa fast! Buy it..... Buy it now... But only if you have a Gen 4 capable mobo.

Used for my OS and i havent been disappointed. Fast speeds with reliability you cant beat.

Gen4 is by far the fastest I have ever tried. I was previously using Samsung 850 Pro and 860 Pro and this new NVME 980 Pro is the current best. If it wasn't for the high price I would have purchased the 1TB version but this is great for OS Boot. I will wait for prices to drop in the future.
