When I bought my PlayStation 5, it was pretty clear it would need an additional SSD for storage. 2TB seemed like the best balance between capacity and cost. After doing some research, I narrowed it down to the Samsung 990 Pro and the Western Digital SN850X/SN850P Black, due to a combination of performance and brand recognition/reliability. The Western Digital was at the top of my list, because the SN850P is the officially licensed model and was said to have a heatsink specially designed for the PS5. It was slightly more expensive and slightly lower specs. The SN850X is essentially the same but not licensed for a little less money. The Samsung 990 Pro was my eventual pick, because it seemingly outperformed the WD drives across multiple testing outlets, and it was actually slightly cheaper than the licensed model. The 990 Pro did not disappoint! Zero issues after about a year of use. It is blazing fast! On the new PS5 Pro, the internal console storage took about 5 minutes to copy 600GB of data, whereas the 990 Pro did it in about 30 seconds. Insane! This drive will be relevant for gaming for at least the next few years. Buy with confidence!

Have no idea why I waited so long for this upgrade. Maybe because I thought it was gonna be complicated. This was the easiest install ever. And what a difference it makes. Fastest reading and writing speeds I ever seen. Now definitely have lots of room for extra games. Definitely an upgrade needed for gamers.

The SSD looks nice, feels nice, has a nice heatsink, and was a cinch to install. The maximum read speed of the 2TB SSD is advertised as 7450 MB/s but mine tested at install at 6252 MB/s which is a little disappointing as I’ve seen people get faster speeds using an SSD with slower advertised read speeds than this Samsung 990 Pro (and that consequently cost less than Samsung). Playstation states that 5500 MB/s is the minimum required so this is more than adequate, but I was hoping for slightly better read speeds given that this is supposed to be a higher-end SSD and costs a little more than other brands.

Got tired if deleting and redoenloading games and running into storage issues. I knew it was my time to make a storage upgrade for my PS5. Followed a youtube vid on the process for SSD install which was super easy. Got it done in about 5 min. Transferred almost a TB worth of data to this SSD and it took about 4 min. I can easily store 20+ PS5 games on this beast. It is a must have! Im set for years to come!

Wanted to expand my storage for my PlayStation 5. Found this on sale on Amazon but would have rather bought from Best Buy. Best Buy price matched for me so I could buy from them and get it at the Amazon price. Writes and downloads fast.

Easy installation, looks amazing with the red black combo. It definitely helps if you have a 500gb PS5, it takes up the little space that was empty before.

Has worked great. Have had no issues with performance and it was very easy to install. Installed in a ASUS TUF DASH 15 gaming laptop.

Blazing speed as advertised. Its a Samsung SSD which makes it easier to make purchase decision for it's reliability. Transferring all the games from internal to SSD was within 5 min. No issues

The built in heat sink is amazing, it works perfectly for the last slot in my tomahawk motherboard, which doesn't have a built in heat sink.

A BANG for your buck NvMe SSD for your Mac enclosure. Make sure you use a Thunderbolt connect to take advantage of the transfer speed! Thanks for the recommendation Vernon! (I think that’s what his name was lol).

Works tremendously, installed in my ps5 to expand my storage and it’s been great. Now I have a wide array of my PlayStation library installed to play on the go on my PS Portal, 19 games to be exact with more storage than my system left over alone with my system storage as well not used.

It was a little cheap by the time I bought this SSD Overrall it has a good performance is definitely one of the best out in the market but firmware need to be updated due to some issues with the firmware other than that you cannot go wrong with the 990 PRO if you want the best performance for your device.
