I had my last phone for around ten years. Yeah, I'm a Boomer. Then the apps on the old Samsung began disintegrating. I don't look forward to the trauma of new technology, but it was time. I needed something that fit my cargo pockets, and, with the increasing phone form factors, that isn't a trivial problem. The Samsung Flip 8 was my solution. It fits; it works; and thanks to the good folks at the Geek Squad, my transition was mostly painless. I'm even carrying the blasted thing more regularly.

Swapped a problematic Z-Flip7 for the new 8. Samsung's switch device app worked flawlessly. The phone is noticeably faster with routine apps. So far so good. I will adjust the rating if hinge issues appear, but right now I'm happy with the device.

I had a fold last time so I switched to this so I wouldn't doomscroll as much.
