This is coming from an Apple user. I quite shocked on how good this phone is. I like the passport size also and it just makes sense. You open it up to view apps on a larger display and you close it to use it like a regular smartphone. The versatility alone is worth the price. You know longer need a iPad and iPhone … you just need a Galaxy Fold8. I will be trying the iPhone Fold when released. For now, this is the best phone available on the market. It’s the sweet spot of portable technology.

I’m really impressed with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8. From the moment I started using it, I noticed how well it combines the convenience of a smartphone with the experience of a larger screen. The display is absolutely beautiful, with excellent colors, sharp details, and a smooth experience for watching videos, browsing the web, gaming, and multitasking. The performance is fast and responsive, and switching between multiple apps feels effortless.

Everything about this phone is close to perfect. I am not a huge fan of the sharp corners but I will live with that based on the perfection of everything else. The display is amazing, fantastic battery life and the camera is great for an everyday user especially with including the wide angle,. I prefer iOS as an operating system, but occasionally if I want to play with Android, this would be the phone I would pick up.

Huge upgrade from Flip 5. So much screen. With light use, you get 2 days of charge. Perfect aspect ratio for daily usage. Both displays rock. Side mounted fingerprint reader just feels natural. Two hole punch cameras males it easy to take calls. Very light. From dev pov, was looking for something that can double for note taking & agentic coding on the go. Was great of BB to extend the promotion.

Got this phone for my husband, he loves it and I do as well. Very impressed with how Samsung has ungraded the flip into this. The screen on the front makes it easy to scroll and watch YouTube but the inside takes you into a whole different dimension. Love it!

I love this device because it is compact enough to store in my pocket but as powerful as a bigger device.

Quite simply the best phone i ever bought. Super-thin, super-light. Screen bright and very responsive. Battery lasts all day. The best part for me? The shape. Real passport style. Best for viewing media. I really could go on and on. The camera is still great. And i don't need an S Pen. You'll have 0 regrets with this phone. It's really really good.

It is the PERFECT size when folded to travel around with and it turns into a mini tablet capable of too much, in a good way! The only con I did not read about is that the speaker phone for calls is WEAK. I did not see that anywhere on internet when I did my research. Crease is a non-issue, seriously. Beware it is not dust resistant so I recommend a protection plan. I opted for Best Buy Geek Squad plan. Moving from iPhone 16 pro max to this. The switch? Long if you do it manually like me. I wanted to start fresh. SUPER light in comparison to 16 pro max. The OS and software run some of my apps BETTER. No more having stubborn apps close on you and lose your progress. I hate when iPhone does that. The buttons take getting used to as they are more clicks and firm. Hard to screenshot on fold. Oh and you have to double tap to wake which sucks. There may be a work around, not sure yet. The inner display top layer IS replaceable. Samsung replaces free in first year one time. After that it’s like $19 I think. Might have to ship in which is a huge thing to consider. Keyboard does by default take a lot of space on screen BUT with customization or third party apps, you can modify. Love the lavender color. It’s literally so cute. Loud ringer, just not loud voice call. I may look into a solution. Seriously great phone. Just don’t drop! Baby it. lol. I’m still in adjustment period switching from iPhone, but I think this is the best for me. Oh, yes, I DO know the Duo is out. It MAY fixe the speaker volume issue and btw it has more even speakers in landscape mode in inner screen, BUT the outside is asymmetrical and I don’t care for it. You CANNOT multitask like you can on Samsung. Samsung allows third window plus floating. Duo you’re doomed. I didn’t even see you can have floating window. Now the Duo DOES have Apple Pencil support coming later 2026, BUT from owning this size, I feel like you’re better off using an iPad. Also, are you really going to carry around a pencil in your small pocket??? Now if you prefer that over carrying around iPad, sure! I think the duo will be quite amazing. I can’t wait to see it in person once it hits stores. I have concerns about the duos matte display. How much is it going to make image not sharp? Will it wear down the Apple Pencil tip? Will Apple replace top glass? And for how much? Definitely get a protection plan if you buy. Oh okay so battery life of fold 8 is good. Whole day for sure. Unless you constantly game lol. Doesn’t charge as quick on 16 pro max. No built in MagSafe, so case is needing or at least an ugly magnet sticky ring on back. Screen is AMAZING. Love love love. Comparable to iPad Pro m5. So good. Recommend? Yes, unless one of the cons I mentioned is deal breaker. Hope this review helps.

I absolutely LOVE my Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8! It’s such a convenient and versatile phone. I love that when it’s folded, the screen is small enough to easily hold the phone up to my ear and talk comfortably, but when I open it, it transforms into a beautiful, larger screen that feels like a mini tablet. Watching movies, reading books, browsing the internet, and even looking at photos is so much better on the bigger display. The colors are gorgeous, the graphics are crisp, and everything looks bright and vibrant. The design is sleek, the phone feels amazing in your hands, and the whole experience just feels next-level. What I love most is how it gives you the best of both worlds: a compact phone when you need something quick and convenient, and a large, immersive screen when you want to sit back and enjoy your content. It’s like carrying two devices in one without actually carrying two devices! Samsung really knocked it out of the park with this one. From the color and display to the functionality and overall design, I’m genuinely impressed. This phone has made everyday things more convenient and a whole lot more fun!

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 represents a refreshing shift in Samsung's lineup, introducing a wider, passport-style design that is significantly more comfortable to hold and use as a daily device. Unfolding the phone reveals a spacious inner display with a much less visible crease, making it fantastic for streaming media, gaming, and running side-by-side apps. Powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, the phone delivers incredibly snappy performance and surprisingly excellent battery life that can easily power through a full day of heavy use. However, it isn't completely without compromises. The $1,899 starting price is undeniably steep, and the 50MP main camera may underwhelm power users looking for true flagship photography. Still, its thinner profile, lighter weight, and highly usable cover screen make the Z Fold 8 the most practical and enjoyable foldable Samsung has released to date.

I was coming from a Z Fold 6, and right away, I thought I made a mistake getting this wider form factor, and for about 1 week and a half, it was. In order to really get use out of this phone, you'll have to adapt, and learn how to always use the inner screen, meaning, don't even think about using the outer screen much except notification checking and the simplest of tasks, the rest, you'll have to unfold it, and get on with it on the inner screen, and you'll have to relearn when to go portrait or when landscape. Once you master that, you're good to go. At one point I did want to go back to the ultra, and for the next upgrade, I feel if Samsung doesn't improve this form factor, I will for certain go back to the ultra form factor, it's just easier to use, and it's thinner. What samsung need to do with this wide format, is to make it slightly taller, and maybe even a little wider, but for sure thinner and lighter. At 45W super fast charging 2.0, the battery can be thinner, and smaller, it takes no time to charge up, 90 minutes from 14% to 90%, and we live in a charge rich environment, it's everywhere, at home, in car, at the office, there's no shortage, there's absolutely no reason why the battery can't be smaller. That said, The Camera really needed to be 200mp, like the S25Edge, no excuse. It was a good first try, bold and brave, we like it.

I did have an issue at the start with heat but haven't had it since. I left a Pixel 9 Pro XL for this. Very happy I did. The performance is great and I don't feel like I've left anything. The switch was easy, took about an hour to get everything set. The front screen is very comfortable to use. I still have my 9 Pro for other purposes...now that feels awkward and huge. Most things will charge fine with wireless. I can't get it to charge nicely with my car, but that isn't really a big issue. It is better to use the cable. So I have Buds 4 Pro and Watch9, I haven't had good success at wireless charging those. Samsung has done a good job making an eco system that works while still working with Androids.

Having upgraded from the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and having owned two previous foldables, I can tell you that this is the best foldable I have ever used. The aspect ratio allows for, really, three phones in one. The 5.5-inch cover screen is extremely usable and easy to type on, even with small hands as I have, and shows enough content to be able to be useful all the time. When you open up the device, you get a 7.6-inch horizontal screen that is great for viewing websites and media, as well as doing multitasking, spreadsheets, etc. To read books or for certain websites, one can turn the device vertically and have an incredible experience. This foldable is basically three phones in one. Highly recommend.

At first coming from a larger pro max size phone the front screen might seem too small at first but after just a few hours the larger phones feel enormous and weirdly tall. The inner screen is beautiful and immersive and has been fantastic for watching movies, gaming, and multitasking. The switch from iPhone is far less annoying than I thought it would be and I don't think I'll be going back or be able to live without a foldable. Crease is still super subtle after a couple weeks of heavy use. Highly recommend.

Design: The big change is the wider, shorter “passport” shape. It’s more comfortable as a normal phone and still gives you a 7.6-inch 120Hz inner display when opened Performance: Excellent. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy makes it a top-tier Android performer Display: Excellent—bright, smooth and with a less noticeable crease. The 4:3 inner screen is particularly good for reading, multitasking and browsing. Cameras: Good, but this is still not Samsung's best camera phone. The regular Fold 8 lacks a dedicated telephoto, so zoom photography is its biggest weakness. Battery: 4,800mAh, with 45W wired charging. It should comfortably get through a moderate-use day, but competitors offer larger batteries and faster charging. Software: One UI 9/Android 17 and Samsung's multitasking features remain a major reason to choose the Fold.

I’ve really enjoyed the Fold 8. The big inner display is amazing for reading, gaming, watching videos, and multitasking, while the outer screen still works great for quick everyday use. It feels fast, polished, and much more practical than I expected a foldable to be. It’s definitely a premium device, but if you actually take advantage of the larger screen, it offers an experience a normal phone just can’t match.
