Q: Can you place mobile calls with this device?
A: You can't make calls on the GearFit. I understand you can do that with the Gear 2 watch. The gearFit does however vibrate on incoming calls and allows you to read text messages on it.
Q: Is it an accurate pedimeter?
A: Yes, it counts steps as you take them. However, it will also pick up a lot of hand movement. That is why it is so important to wear it on your non-dominant hand. There will be significantly LESS movement coming from this hand naturally. Hope this helps!
A: it reads your heart rate from your wrist. when in "exercise" mode, it monitors continuously (sort of). You have to wake the screen to show what your heart rate is. Normally you chose the mode and it will get a reading. Reading with your finger is only on your phone.
Q: Will this device track sleep activity, including time slept and/or quality of sleep? Thanks
A: When you put the device in 'sleep mode' it essentially keeps track of how still you are. In the morning you will be shown how many hours/minutes you were asleep (essentially how long the device was in sleep mode), and the percentage of that time that you were lying still. this information is then stored on your phone in the S Health app. NOTE: You have to manually turn sleep mode on and off.
Q: Is it compatible with the Samsung Note 4?
A: The gear fit is compatible with the galaxy 3, galaxy 4, galaxy 5, note 3 and note 4. The newer the phone the more options you have available.
Q: Can you go swimming with Gear Fit?
A: I believe i read in the user manual that you could take a shower with it and be in the rain, however i do not believe it could be submerged. Swimming not recommended according to what i remember reading.
Q: Gear Fit - What's included (see below)
A: Gear Fit does track sleep accoriding to the samsung website on online demos they have posted, it also tracks steps...it says it links to third party apps but I can't find anything that specifies what those apps are.
Q: Does display show distance ran and time?
A: Look for something else. I have used this for 4 months and am a runner and it's not accurate at all. Use of a running app is much more accurate (Runtastic, MapMyRun, etc.) This watch is always off by .5 to more than a mile. I run on average 20-25 miles per week.
