Refurbs don't get any better. This 1 TB drive arrived in pristine condition, with a grand total of 2GB written. A quick performance test pushed that up to 28GB written. Effectively never been initialized, and manufacture date was September 2020. Expected speeds were exceeded, see image from Samsung Magician software. I now have 3 Samsung SATA drives and 1 Samsung NVMe drive. It's hard for me to ever want to use drives from another company. The quality of the free cloning software and great design keep me coming back.
So as you can see in the picture attached, the SSD I got had only 4 hours total on it, and 3 of those hours were installing windows and all the updates that take forever to do. So i actually received a “refurbished” SSD with 1 hour of use! I was super hesitant to buy something like this used but I and very surprised and happy with the outcome. Drive works amazing btw!

First off, I'm a novice when it comes to computer repair.. I have replaced RAM, replaced network cards, the occasional can of air blowing out the inside.. But this is my first SSD upgrade and install. I bought the refurb, because it was a little cheaper. The refurb comes with literally just the SSD. No sata cable at all. JUST the SSD. It also comes with NO instructions. Samsung has that part taken care of.. I went to Samsung's website and downloaded the the Samsung Magician and the Data Migration tool. I bought a used desktop for dirt cheap. It had a 128 SSD installed already with a fresh copy of Windows 10. I plugged in this refurb SSD into the secondary slot. I powered up the computer, saw that the Samsung Magician recognized the new drive. Opened the Data Migration tool, used the original 128 as the source, and the new 1TB as the destination. Less than 5 minutes later, I unplugged the 128 and placed the new 1TB in its slot. Copied everything over (including Windows 10) without a problem. If I hadn't have done it myself, I would have never believed it would be THAT simple. Highly recommended. Other reviews have said these drives are hit and miss. Mine was a hit. Again, no sata cable, no instructions. Literally just the SSD. But Samsung makes it simple with their tools. If I can do it, you can do it.

I upgraded from a 10,000 RPM mechanical drive to this SSD. The boot up speed difference was amazing. If you are thinking about upgrading to solid state, do it now. Samsung made the transition easy with their clone software available to download on their website. Once the clone was done I was immediately able to use this as my main drive. I recommend this product to everyone. In regards to Geek Squad Certified Refurbished, I would buy again to save money. After almost two months of use I am currently at 1.8 TB for total writes. Given that this is a 1 TB drive, I have already cloned and installed games, I would say the total writes was low when I received this product.

Came 4 days early, very easy to install. Super fast, my computer runs almost silent now and it starts up super fast. I bought the 2 year warranty for a few bucks more for peace of mind. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is packaging. It came in a regular brown box not a samsung one and had no driver disk or instructions.

I needed a quick fix during Sony’s massive game sales and desperately needed more storage space on my PS4 500GB HDD. I really didn’t want to spend too much money on doubling storage capacity to an old PS4 system when the PS5 is just around the corner, so I opted to save money on a refurbished SSD instead of a brand new one. I was skeptical about refurbished electronics, but knowing Samsung EVO SSDs are a pretty reliable brand, plus there are no moving parts in them as well. After receiving it, I noticed it was not in an original Samsung box, “no big deal” the SSD physically was incredibly packaged, sealed, and no blemishes on the device, it looked brand new. I immediately did the Playstation formatting, installed the new drive, and installed all of my game content to it. The transition was seamless. I immediately noticed an big improvement on boot speed and loading of the games! I wished I had made this decision along time ago.

i wasn't quite as lucky as some posters here getting relatively new drive. mine has substantial write on it already. i was thinking about returning and reorder, but since i'm going to use it primarily as a gaming drive (will not store sensitive data on it) i decided to keep the drive. it's a good and fast drive overall. if you want a reliable drive you can't go wrong with Samsung but you definitely need to pay a bit more for that piece of mind, even if it's used, it's about the same price as some other brand's new drive.

The Samsung 860 EVO SSD is pretty much the gold standard for SATA-type SSD's in all your PC builds. My case came with a nifty hiding spot for a SATA SSD behind the motherboard mounting plate, so I figured I would take advantage of that and get an 860 EVO. Brand new, the 1TB version is about $50 more expensive, but I've already had really good results using Best Buy's open box and refurbished products, so I knew I had to jump on this deal when I saw it. Everything about this product preforms just as well as a brand new one, just without the price tag. I definitely recommend looking at refurbished or open box deals whenever you can.

Refurbished unit but was practically new. Almost no on time when checked in software. Was very clean and improves computer performance significantly. Goodbye noisy disc HDD! Saved a lot of money for a great product by buying from Best Buy!

Purchased this in hopes of speeding up my ageing computer. Replaced the C drive/OS boot drive, a 5K rpm 10 yr old seagate drive. First I installed the new sssd drive in an open slot and sata port. Used a program to mirror the boot drive onto the sssd drive. Powered down and removed the old hard drive, and moved the sssd drive to its SATA interface. Powered the computer back on, and voila up and running in about 30 minutes total time. It is definitely faster!, boot time is cut in about half. Running apps, such as Photoshop and video editing, are 10x faster. Would definitely recommend this as an upgrade.

Got this for an awesome price, and it works perfectly! It was a geek squad refurbish, so i was a little skeptical but it had very little use before and has worked without issue for me so far.

I bought this SSD to improve my late 2011 macbook pro's performance. That's just what it did! Now it boots up in 10 seconds. Apps open quicker and programs run way better. I am ready to buy another one strictly for storage.

First off, I received the items on time, so thanks for that The install was the easiest thing in the world. The samsung migration software makes me look like a tech guru; the software it is free. All it took was copying my laptop system into the new SSD drive, unscrewing the back of my laptop, detaching the old drive and plugging the new one. This is my third install, I am basically upgrading every laptop in the house. For me, it is a cheaper upgrade than buying a new laptop. Needless to say, I am happy with my purchase, my laptops are noticeable faster. All around great buy.

Barring a similarly-sized M.2 drive, this is as good as it gets as far as SSDs. Good size, quick loading/booting, simple installation, and a killer price. What's not to like? Buy TWO!

Great memory and storage. No performance difference between a brand new one and a Geek Squad Certified refurbished. Happy with my choice. Boot ups are lightning fast.

Its a Samsung Evo SSD. The Clydesdale of SSD's. The industry standard in SSD's. You will NOT be disappointed. Seriously. Don't waste your money on anything less. These are WORTH the extra $5.00 or $15.00. I build, repair and upgrade computers for a living. I have purchased many many many of these SSD's because they are the fastest and most assuredly the most reliable. Crème de la Crème. Always go Samsung or go home.

Really, $150 for 1TB SSD isn't bad at all, but I like a deal, and it's pretty tough to find deals on Samsung's EVO SSD's. But, if you're willing to wait a bit, Best Buy seems to have one in their Outlet about every week. I've bought two of these "refurbished" ones and haven't a problem to date. I have a bit of a concern about wear-leveling or how many writes are left in the device, but the savings is a good offset and the performance is great.

I rarely buy refurbished storage, but took a gamble, item arrived in a brown box with plastic protecting the drive, I plugged it in to Ubuntu, disk was readable and No File system (which is good). I then proceeded to install it in my computer, Samsung Magician said it had only been used for 1 hour, and only had 2GB written to it. I ran Short, and Long Drive diagnostics, and Drive Benchmarks and everything passed with flying colors, Very satisifed for game storage, which was my intentions for this drive

This Samsung 860 Evo SSD is plenty fast for 95% of gamers. I don't notice a difference between my M.2 SSD and SATA. If you aren't transferring large files often, then this is all you need. I purchased the refurbished one, and it arrived with 930GB written, and 27 powered on hours. So basically brand new. I think the 930GB is just erasing all the data, and barely used. I highly recommend this as a secondary drive, or if you don't have much of a budget, it still works just fine as a main drive.
