Q: Have these drives actually been used or only purchased and returned open box?
A: See my post and watch out. Geek squad does not check these for function nor even that the item is the correct drive (I received a 256gb western digital ssd with the Samsung sticker label transplanted onto it). In communications on forums it seems this is not an isolated incident. But, if you do get the correct drive, it likely has few writes/reads.

Reliable and Fast
Can't go wrong with Samsung. Reliable. Used in an external thunderbolt enclosure still speedy as Diskmark shows. Sure it would be even more blazing inside.

Great SSD, Nice Packaging
Got this SSD at a good price and works just as well as a completely new SSD, only had 1 additional power on count with 12 hours of use. Packaging was also safe and secure which was great to see too.
