A: When mine was delivered, they would not. I called Geek Squad and the person I spoke with said that they do not install them. You will more than likely have to install it yourself or hire someone to do it. Good luck!
A: Yes, this is it-- the DV-2A is newer and replaces the DV-1A.
A: ((I am not positive that it works for Gas Dryers, but I believe it does.-verify with downloaded manual)) If so, it will save about 5 inches - behind the dryer- as in, my Samsung dryer is installed 5 inches closer to the back wall than it would have been because without it, the 4" diameter exhaust would have come out the back and then turned right towards the vent on the right side which takes about 5" clearance. You are still supposed to leave a little room for a heat buffer between the dryer and the back wall. Remember however, the exhaust will need to enter into a vent on the (right side you said) and this may require a bit of space- don't leave bare minimum area for both washer and dryer to squeeze in there- you may need space for a jog in your vent line- verify exactly where the vent exits dryer ! -and try to make it a straight shot . There are other ways to get close clearance: 1: special rectangular duct hook ups which are only 2" thick, and 2: by installing a "the dryer box" for your dryer vent. Good luck.
