Q: Is this a good for storing data for over 5+ yrs? I don't plan to use it often, just wanna back up data once every 6 months and forget it. Also, can we disable encryption to minimize data loss risk, in case something fails or forget pswd.

A: If you are just storing data and using it every 6 months or so without planning to be using it constantly I would recommend a normal HDD in all honesty. You can get a 4TB one for the cost of this one that serves the same purpose. A SSD is only REALLY good if you will be constantly using it (video editing, playing games from it, moving files from) cause of it's speed advantage and not so much for long term storage in all honesty.

Q: is this good for gaming?

A: Yes it is made for gaming! In fact it's highly reviewed as one of the top gaming external SSD's! This item I had to locate in the gaming section of the store where they keep the Nintendo switches and other ps5, xbox seriex X accessories locked up. Strongly recommend this product to improve load times, you will notice a huge difference.

Q: i have bought a samsung T7 touch to use as a boot drive for my old 27" iMac late 2012 i realised i'm not getting the best speeds using the USB-C from t7 to usb-A, how do i get the T7 to work with the thunderbolt 2 port, a USB 3 to 2 adaptor doesn't work.

A: Impossible unless the USB port is a USB 3.2 and above port.
