Great product to keep ALOT of stuff backed up, so when your computer crashes, you don't lose everything! My Mom once lost her life's work due to a computer crash, and this little device would have prevented that! My Mom is now 100 yrs old, but was a former, very well known, published professional photographer, and all of her negatives were transferred to that computer years ago, so when all was lost a few years ago, never to be duplicated, it was pure devastation to both Mom & me!!!

It works and fast. What else to say, Really comes in handy with the extra storage. It looks way better than the picture does, has weight to it.

An amazing little tool for backing up my Samsung phone (type c device). Small little device with so much storage. Files copy quickly and gets the job done quickly,

Wanted to make it easier to move information between devices and reduce the amount of cables. It does that, but did not expect it to be so small and light.

I purchased the SanDisk Dual Drive 512GB in July 2022. I bought it for easier copying/backup of data files from my laptop in addition to the external hard drive I use. I typically copy about 120GB of data at once (i.e., all music files, all picture/video files, etc.) The drive gets VERY hot when transferring large amounts of data (too hot to touch.) It also seems to ramp down the write speed significantly when it overheats (which is all the time), I got about 7MB/s average (see photo which indicates it will take 3hours and 15minutes to copy 52.3GB.) Unfortunately I have never been able to complete copying of 120GB at once. The drive is OK for those who will copy small amounts of data at a time, but if you need the drive to copy large amounts of data then I would not recommend this one.

The SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe 512GB combined USB 3.1 USB A and USB Type-C Flash Drive Is a great USB storage device with a humongous 512 GB storage. This is the ultimate device for transferring your files from a smartphone, tablet or a computer with only USB-C port to your main computer with USB-A. You can even use it with a fire TV or other media box or projector with a USB port to play media files. SanDisk/Western digital supplies free Memory zone software that is really great. The software is available for Apple iPhone and iPad the Appstore or Android phone or tablet from the Play store. Memory zone will help you back up, clean out junk files or just transfer your files and photos. The software has an automatic backup feature that allows you to backup files to your SanDisk USB drive or even a cloud drive. I easily allowed the 146 GB of photos, videos, files and contacts on my phone to the SanDisk Dual Drive Lux with space to spare in about 30 minutes. Read speed is 150mb/s for this drive. The Write speed is slower. I have added a benchmark photo. Although this will not break any speed records it did so without errors and I can access all these files directly on my computer without any problems as well as have a backup for installation on a new phone or other device. The small silver metal USB key can be carried on your key ring. It is very stylish and unobtrusive and not easily damaged. I highly recommend the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe 512GB USB as being the ultimate in ultra portable small USB keys.

I am truly amazed at this little USB storage device. I'll date myself and say I recall when my first 20MB hard disk drive was $700 and was slower than molasses, andyet we were glad to have it, but now we can have 512GB in something smaller than my finger with two flavors of USB on tap for a fraction of that price. As a Mac user, this device is perfect. My iMac only has USB-A and my MBP is USB-C. This saves so much time not having to hunt for dongles and makes large file transfers between devices easy. The write speed on this is pretty good. I was copying some large files from my iMac to this and 4.x GB transfer took less than two minutes to the drive, and well under 60 seconds to transfer back from the USB storage device to the iMac. Transfer speeds were similar on my MacBook Pro using USB-C. If you're considering a high capacity, high performance USB flash device, I'd strongly recommend the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe USB Type C. Like most of us, you're probably still straddling your existing devices that have USB-A as well as your newer devices with USB-C. It's got the connectivity you need for today and tomorrow in a tiny, yet powerful package. You can even hang it on your key ring so you always have it with you!

This is review of SanDisk - Ultra Dual Drive Luxe 512GB USB 3.1, USB Type-C Flash Drive - Silver The drive is little shorter than the size of paper clip of 4.75cm with same wide 1cm, light and easy to flip the cover to switch between USB-C to USB-A and vice versa. As obvious might sound per its size, it is practical to carry in a pocket or a bag, in the same time highly easy to not to find it. Fortunately, it has keyring hole that come handy for attachment to a keychain for instance. Flipping the cover to switch between type of USB is simple, it makes a click sound as it reach to complete cover of the other end. On speed of transfer, copying files total size of 3.88 gb from MacBook Pro 13 2020, it took about 1 min. The copied files were only flat document files in PDF, TXT, and Doc. A bit of detail in the usage: 1. I can flip the cover switching between type of usb with one hand, but it feels slippery and hard to grab. Naturally it is due to the material and size but good to know in advance, 2. In MacBook Pro (based on use on with 13” 2020), it gets quite hot in less than a minute period just for having it plugged. Compared to in Dell XPS 13”, doesn’t do the same effect. Aside of little details in overall is sturdy and practical add on.

I switch back and forth between my Dell and my MacBook Pro and wanted a USB-C drive to transfer files and store my most important docs. Both computers have thunderbolt ports only, so I wanted a fast drive as well. Portability is also key as I will travel with the drive as well. This tiny little drive checks all those boxes, plus it gives me an incredible 512GB of storage which is way more than enough for me. I transfered nearly 3gb of data in just over 2 minutes! It's small enough where I barely notice it's there and it's backward compatible with USB-A drives as well. I don't have huge files so I anticipate this being my sole drive for a long time to come.

SanDisk- Dual Drive 512GB- convenient to have two-in-one connection- USB 3.1 and USB Type-C, very small compact size! It gets hot when use to transfer too many files, but I don't think it can damage anything. Works with Mac, iPad, PC, phone! The speed is average, but for the size and compatibility it's perfect for carrying around. Amazing little device!

512 GB in such a small flash drive that is smaller than most keys on your keychain makes for a great tool to move large files between devices. The product is sturdy and offers two USB inputs, one being USB-C. The quickness of the file transfers is the biggest selling point, it makes a big job a quick matter when you’re on-the-go.

This is very compact, with an all-metal case. On one side it's USB-C and USB-A on the other. Speeds is what one would expect from modern USB storage devices (AJA System Test): Write: about 50 MB/s Read: about 145 MB/s Comes pre-formatted with Fat32, with a PDF with a link to SanDisk MemoryZone on Android's Play Store, and the same android APK to side-load. It's about universally compatible: Works with Android, MacOS, Windows, iOS (With Apple's Camera adapter unless on iPad Pros, which works directly), Android and Chromebook. Works on my older (USB) MacBook Pro, newer (2017, USBC-C Thunderbolt), new Chromebook (Intel 11th gen, Thunderbolt 4). I can use it on all my devices. Some small issues: - It gets quite hot. This also happens with other USB drives, but it's worth noting. - Connecting the USB-C side to a computer sticks out too much, it's not flush. Same happened on MacBook, PC (Dell) and Chromebook, so it's clearly the drive's design. - Because of the double-ended design, there are no caps to protect the connectors from dust.

Great flash drive that’s small in actual size, but large capacity. Bought it to get thousands of photos off my cloud. Keeps cool when plugged into my computer, but gets really hot quickly when I have it in my iPhone 15. I think it might be the phone causing it.

I did like that when I plugged this in to my android phone, it immediately recognized the unit and gave me the option to transfer or copy my nearly 3000 pictures. It did take a LONG time to do so but that is not surprising seeing as there were so many. I have not gotten my computer to recognize the unit when I plug it in but I will keep working on that. It does have an option to clean up junk files but it keeps crashing every time I try. I love the storage. I transferred almost 3000 pictures and it barely made a dent in the capacity. It did not come with a detailed instruction manual but they are easy to find on line. I will keep using it and work on all the things it can do.

I recently picked up the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe with 512GB storage, and it’s a game-changer. The USB 3.1 and Type-C dual connector are exactly what I needed for quick, hassle-free transfers between my devices. It's incredible how it simplifies moving files between my phone, tablet, and laptop, all without the need for extra cables or adapters. The 512GB capacity is more than sufficient for my extensive library of documents and media. The transfer speed is fantastic—no more waiting around for large files to copy. Plus, the all-metal casing, with its sleek silver finish, not only looks stylish but feels sturdy in hand. My only quibble would be the attachment point for a keyring; it seems slightly fragile for everyday wear and tear. However, that’s a minor trade-off for the convenience and reliability of having ample portable storage always on hand.

I'm thrilled with its performance and convenience. The dual USB 3.1 and Type-C connectors make transferring files between my different devices a breeze, and the 512GB capacity is more than enough for my needs. Plus, its sleek silver design looks great with all my tech gadgets!
