A: Your computer manual should tell you which ports are which speed - 2.0, 3.0 or 3.1. Mine on my motherboard are red for the 3.1 speed - black is for the older 2.0 version; blue are for 3.0 and some blue, I think, support 3.1 speed, but again check your computer manual. Very few laptops support 3.1 yet - only the newer most expensive ones .
