Discs are scratched

Received DVDs in December. Finally got a chance to start watching. First disc was very scratched. Able to watch most of the first episode. Could not watch the second episode at all. Skipped third and fourth episodes and switched to the second disc. Got all the way to the end of the first episode on the disc before it skipped. Second episode couldn't even start. The show itself is great, but the DVDs themselves are not watchable.
