Large amount of space. I purchased while it was still on sale. It's a shame the growth of AI is driving up the costs of storage and ram but happy to get this drive. No issues on either Windows of Mac platforms.

Even with the rising prices for just about everything these days, the price of this Seagate was a great deal. So far it has worked smoothly. Two things to keep in mind are the initial formatting and the speed of the drive. I've noticed the last two large capacity drives I've bought are formatted EX-FAT which is not recommended for backup purposes (you should look up the reasons yourself). If you're using it for read/write on both Mac and Windows, however, EX-FAT is really the only option to use. As for the speed, I'm only referencing access speed. Write speed is very fast, but it takes a while to access the drive if it has been inactive for several minutes. I'm not sure if this is due to Windows indexing or some other quirk, meaning this might not be an issue on a Mac, but I can't confirm this.

Lots of space! Registers immediately for your warranty! Computer reads it as soon as it is plugged in. I love it!

The drive is what it is, not bad, and does the job for which I need it to perform, storage...

It's a pretty sturdy, reliable hard drive, and Seagate provides a darn good manufacturer's warranty on this if something goes wrong on it within the first year or so. The only downside is that the prices on all hard drives have skyrocketed since the start of the year due to all the AI companies ruining everything. Still, that's not going to change your need to storage. So if you need a large drive, go for it. This one will treat you right, with decent read and write speeds. It's slower than an SSD of course, but the capacity makes up for it.

I transfered all my families pictures and videos to this hard drive and it should last for a long time. I transfers all the VHS tapes into digital files and this hard drive will hold all our old family videos. I still have a lot of room on this hard drive for all future files.

This is my second drive from this line and it is actually a little quieter than the 14TB one from a few years ago.

Excellent drive. It is very fast and allows me to storage a lot of data. In addition it is not very loud so is easy to use next to my desktop. Highly recommended

Performs well for backup purposes. No issues so far.

The 24tb drive is LOUD (you can hear the drive spinning) and vibrates, compared to WD. The after 2 days of minimal usage, it started beeping and computer reported fatal hardware issues. I must have gotten a bad one because this is the first Seagate in over 30yrs that was bad right out of the gate. I still have 20yr ild Seagate drives that still work (and no bad sectors). Recommend avoiding the higher TB drives and double up on smaller ones (like 2 12tb vs 24tb).

Does the job. I needed a way to consolidate all the little drives I have. Now it's all in one place and I can purge duplicates and unclutter my work drive.

Product was much slower than expected. Was very noisy, and even shaking a bit. Started to copy data and before the copy was complete the computer lost connection with the computer. I tried to unplug and test on other computers, but would not connect to any returned. I don't know if i got a dud or what. This is the first time i have had a Seagate drive die on me so fast.
