A: Mine shuts down when my console is off. It does not spin when not in use. The light does stay on though. A little annoying sometimes

A: I wouldn't see why it wouldn't work . I use another Seagate on my PS5 for saving PS4 games and I just reformated it to work on the PS5 . But it plug it in and see if works it should if not return to best buy and get your money back simple as that. Lol

This will not play Series X/S games!
To reiterate, I am not dissapointed in this product, I have over a thousand games purchased and this helps offload any games — you can later transfer these games back into internal storage and play them, this ONLY applies to Series x/s games. There are some games that allow you to play off the external drive, its all dependent on the game, bigger wel known titles will most likely need internal storage or an expansion card. It’s an awesome product! I would’ve loved it even more if all games were compatible off of the external drive, but it beats deleting games and reinstalling all of the time. I also love how they put the time in to make sure that the color matched the original console, something I was worried about before purchasing.

I'm not a gamer but...
I save a lot of pictures and videos. This external hard drive is exactly what I needed! It's easy to use; nothing to install. And there are several different plug options so it can be used in a variety of places.
