I've had this 20TB hard drive for a couple weeks and am super impressed with speed of data transfer! I'm using it for backup of my main external hard drives, which are Western Digital 10TB drives and quite old. I'm fortunate I didn't lose the data already. That's the worst, when that happens. DO NOT let that happen to you! Get this hard drive! You will not regret it. It's pricey, I get it, but your data is worth it, and Seagate has been the most-reliable hard drive manufacturer in my opinion, for my entire life. I've had bad experiences with Western Digital drives, but surprisingly, my current two WD drives are still reading and writing after being powered on and moving data 24/7 for 8+ years. I suppose the technology has improved, so I really shouldn't hold a grudge. In the early 90's, hard drive failures were more common. I'm also impressed with how quiet the data transfer has been, because I sleep in the office quite often. This is an incredible hard drive. Sure, SSD's are great, but these a extremely reliable hard drives for data storage, even if you're accessing, and using that data frequently. I wouldn't change a thing. Seagate has mastered this hard drive technology in my opinion, and I was an IT Technician for half of my working career. Ya know, now that I think about it, based on my vast experience with hard drives, there is currently no basis for me to choose one over the other but I'm glad I made the choice I made and purchased this 20TB Seagate hard drive.

I've used ItronWolf Pro drives in my home NASes for years, and never had an issue or complaint. I wish prices were better, but it is what it is. I feel better with the warranty lasting five years, so that if I average the cost out on a per-year basis it feels more sane, and still a better option than cloud-based backups (at least at my volume of data hoarding). The drives are solid, functional, and do what's expected. I know/trust the brand, and the tests spinning them up didn't reveal any unhappy surprises, so I feel comfortable entrusting my data to them.

In the early days of our media journey, we were excited to capture every moment, collecting external hard drives, 2TB here, 4TB there, without a second thought. Suddenly, everything was organized, and no more frantic searching was necessary. The speed and reliability blew us away. Transferring large video files became effortless, and accessing our work was a breeze. Even though we haven’t filled it completely yet, the peace of mind it provides is absolutely worth it. Looking back, it's funny that we didn't realize how useful a single solid storage solution could be, but we’re glad we finally did. The Seagate IronWolf Pro has truly become the backbone of our creative work.

I read on my research that these mass storage hard drives were loud, I beg to differ! I ONLY hear it when I boot my PC UP and its only noticeable if you REALLY listen for it!! I store 1080p movies on mine and so far Ive had ZERO screen shutters using this drive and I have 5TB so far stored on it!! If your looking for an affordable FAST MASSIVE hard drive youve just found the one!!! :)

This is a great drive, I have used IronWolf Pro Dirve in my NAS for 8 years and had only one failure in that time. That is why I am updating to the 20TB version now.

Easy to install, and use with issues or special setup needed. Don’t really hear the drive much and I use it for my gaming PC to keep SSD free.

I am using this as a normal Hard Drive in my PC to store movies. It does the job well. I am impressed with it's R/W speeds!

Great storage space but it’s a bit noisy. The grinding can be a turn off for some people, but if you’ve had a pc you know hdd always do that. Great for media and older games. Not recommended for newer games though.

Well packaged and it came at a pretty good deal. They are relatively quiet except for when heavily writing to the discs. If you plan on having it in the room, just have in mind that they can get noisy during heavy loads.

Worked right out of the box to replace a drive that was having issues in my NAS. Took about 2 days to add this disk to parity on Unraid which has been about the normal for this size and it being a spinner. Packaging was good as I would expect for a new product. ESD bag plus cardboard support around the drive meant no issues when the box was shipped. I didn’t have any problems with spin up sound, though I am running 10 drives in my NAS as a mix of WD red, and Seagate Ironwolf pros.

I've been purchasing Ironwolf Pro drives for some time. On Amazon, I get about 1/4th of them DOA (lately worse). I decided to purchase directly from Seagate and got 2 22TB drives DOA with a nightmare return experience. So I decided to give BB a try since the return is a short distance away and their returns have always been hassle free. I received two of these 20TB drives yesterday and installed them in my DS416 NAS (don't laugh). I am midway through installing the 2nd drive and so far no problems. These run about 5 degrees F warmer than the older, smaller Seagate drives but well within tolerance at 104 degrees. I think BB just became my new go to for NAS drives... even if I do have to wait for them to go on sale. I cannot speak to their longevity but they do come with a 5 yr limited warranty.

I bought these to replace my old and very noisy Toshiba 14TB HDD. This model is very quiet and efficient, and I’m happy with my decision.

Using four of these in our NAS and works well. Little noisy but responsive.

It's only been 2 months but this drive does it's job. I use this with 3 other drives in a DAS for my Plex server and it has almost no noise.
