Richard Gere toys with bringing an extra-marital 'fling' into his successful, but boring, life as an estate-attorney with a large firm, a comfortable marriage with two exemplary teenage children and a nagging middle-age desire for excitement. His nightly commute brings him past a 'Learn to Dance Studio' where he catches sight of a lovely dance instructor forlornly staring out a studio window. On an impulse, he decides to sign up for ballroom dancing lessons in order to meet her but you won't believe where his desire for a little romance takes him. Great plot twists and super-great music that will keep your toes tapping while the story winds its way to a funny, rewarding and totally satisfying conclusion. I highly recommend this 'family-safe movie for all ages'!

I was on my seat from the beginning to the end. The story line flowed uninterrupted making for an outstanding movie. The Music, Dance, and Story line is something one doesn't always find in movies of this Genre. I would highly recommend this to all Romance Lover's out there for you will not be disappointed.

Good plot line of a bored businessman who originally takes up dancing because of the face in the window. I love how the desire to dance eventually supersedes the boredom, and how his family supports his love of dancing at the end. And Richard Gere can really dance! So well done, this is one of my favorites.

Talk about leaving good enough alone....the original dvd version with enhanced 16x9 widescreen was much better and enjoyable to watch since it truly filled the screen and the sound was much clearer as well. Oh well, you can't win them all. It's still a good story, good songs and good actors doing a good job.

This movie reminds us all not to stay in that same old rut. Don't take the people around us for granted. As we are reminded in the movie, we are witness to each others lives. And that is even more important in this crazy world today. I started ballroom dance lessons a year ago and I can relate to the process of learning and the fun and laughter that came from the experience.
