for me, I think short brand is always being pretty reliable for my experience. This is not my first time owning a shark vacuum. I’ve had their previews vacuum about four years ago and actually, I’ve had I’ve had it since and now with their letting us version of their vertex vacuum I’m happy to say that it’s still the same great shark vacuum I expect them to offer to their user base. DEVICE & FEATURES: Out of the box experience shark’s latest vertex pet powered lift away vacuum it feels premium to me. I love the look the color of the finishes. This is not like a heavy vacuum by any chance, but it’s good enough weight that it’s usable cause I can’t stand heavy vacuum but I think it could use a bit more weight though. One of my favorite part using this vacuum is the ability for me to carry it to vacuum certain areas or the corner of my couch, which sometimes it could be a awkward angle. The fact that you can just carry a canister is one of my favorite with this vacuum. I have a small dog, but when it comes to the other neutralizer technology, it’s hard for me to say how well it’s working because I feel like for the smell to actually produce. It will take more than a week for me to find that out, but so far, I haven’t noticed any smell on this vacuum after vacuuming, any loose hair for my dog so I’m guessing the neutralizer is working without me noticing it at all. Another feature that this vacuum have is also the self cleaning brush roll. If you have a dog that sheds a lot this pretty much would help you a bit more my dog shed, but not that much so I haven’t noticed any anything that’s getting stuck on a brush roll so far it’s so good and I feel like the HEPA filter does help with this vacuum to reduce that kind of smell or any dust pollen that could potentially go inside your home. And we also get a pretty good size desk cup so you can hold more less empty. EXPERIENCE: again, one the best part about this vacuum is that I could carry it with me. I’ve used this vacuum to clean my car as well. I’ve always want like a decent vacuum that has a great suction power, and the vertex delivers. The amount of dirt that this vacuum pause from my car’s carpet is amazing. I also took this vacuum to my sister‘s house because she has two dogs and she loves how powerful you can grab the all the debris and dog hair around her house in the carpet and the couch as well as under the bed. My sister didnt mind the weight when she tried it and she think it’s perfect. this vacuum also is pretty loud, loud enough that I only use it when my 4 months old is awake, I just prefer not having any type of noises during when my baby is asleep. but beyond using all the parts this vacuum has had zero problems on me so far so were moving on the right direction CONCLUSION: if youre looking for a versatile vacuum the shark vacuum vertex is easy to recommend it has great power, which I think it’s all you need when it comes to the vacuum, you can guarantee that will definitely clean your carpet like I mentioned or any corner around your house. With with all its features that shark provide the user with this vacuum, I think it’s a solid vacuum for daily use around the house, especially with the self cleaning features the power lift away technology and the hippo filter, keeping it fresh and making sure none of those odor would ever go out. i’d say take a chance you’ll be surprised how powerful this vacuum is until you try it. Some people may ignore shark as a brand, but shark is a pretty solid brand when it comes to vacuum.

I have a Golden Retriever and they shed a lot, some say that they shed twice a year but mine is almost all year long. Because of that I have had several upright vacuums, that were advertised as being efficient with hairy dogs, but all of them ended up breaking because the hair got trapped in the brush mechanism even though we were trying to clean it and do regular maintenance. On the other hand, the power suction is slowly decreasing. This Shark Vacuum, is incredibly powerful. After a vacuum session, while Checking the brush mechanism I noticed that it’s quite different to the other vacuums I have had, all the hair and dirt went straight to the center suction hole to the hoses and to the dust cup, instead of being located to the side of the brush where it usually is like the main issue on the other ones. The brush design pushes the dirt in that direction. Just a few seconds after I started the vacuum the hair started to show up immediately in the dust cup. I tried the Shark on Hard Floor (tile), and carpet, and it works great, even if I have a robot vacuum that makes its rounds every day, the Shark still grab a good amount of dirt, debris and hair. Setup and assembly is quite simple, even though it seems like there are a lot of parts to assemble. It took me 10 minutes finish following the owner’s guide. The unit is heavy, but very manouverable, which shows the high quality it’s made of and how powerful it is, with 1300watts of power. The brushrolls will not spin unless the wand is reclined, on the handle you can find the power switch and the selector 3 options for surface. Three notable things I found is that it includes an odor neutralizer technology cartridge, that will help to minimize the bad odors coming from my pet’s hair. This cartridge should be installed before vacuum operation.The second is the very useful and bright Led headlights which help to locate easily hidden debris and hair while vacuuming, the Swivel Steering that makes it easily maneuver in and out of tight spaces, corners, under or around the furniture, you can detach the canister pod from the main wand. This reduces the weight and lets you easily reach under low furniture, like beds or sofas, vacuum carpeted stairs, or clean above-floor or detach the nozzle and clean above the floor, curtains or any vertical surfaces. Beside the vacuum, the unit comes with the Pet crevice tool, the Pet Multi tool and the Pet Power Brush. After some vacuuming sessions, the Shark has proved to be extremely effective, poweful and maneuverable. And as it states in the specs it is designed for hairy dogs and deep cleaning. I am sure it will last way longer than my previous vacuums.

We swapped out our old Dyson Ball, which lasted more than ten years, for the new Shark Vertex Pet Powered Lift-Away vacuum. The name is a bit long, but this Shark is a real upgrade. It’s a big, corded vacuum, but it feels light and doesn’t have any odd smells like an old vacuum does. It’s not as easy to move around as a stick vacuum, but it’s much more powerful. We have carpet upstairs and hardwood downstairs, so we keep this vacuum upstairs to give the carpet a deeper clean than any robot or stick vacuum can. It also works really well on hardwood, so no matter what kind of floors you have, it does a great job. It’s easy to set up, just like most new vacuums. You snap the parts together and it’s ready to use. I really like the extra-long power cord. You can clean a lot before needing to unplug and move it. Our upstairs is pretty big, and the cord stretches from the master bedroom almost all the way to the office. We only have to unplug it once to clean three bedrooms, an office, and the hallways. That makes the task efficient. The power button and floor mode switch are right at the top of the handle, so they’re easy to press while you clean. This vacuum works on both carpet and hardwood, and you can adjust the roller with a switch depending on the floor. All the buttons are clearly labeled and easy to reach, which also makes emptying the vacuum simple when you’re done. DuoClean PowerFins HairPro (what a marketing term!) has a two-brushroll system. This does seem to work great, especially for carpets, in our case. We did give it a pass downstairs on the hardwood, and it did an awesome job of picking up hair and dust. We have a duck toller who does shed a lot, but we vacuum often enough that we don't see a lot of hair throughout the house. The dust bin is quite large and would take several uses to fill up, even in a big house with pets. We usually empty it after each use, but it’s nice to know it can hold a lot if needed. It’s also very easy to empty, so there’s less chance of a mess. If you've ever accidentally spilled a dust bin, it's not fun to have to clean up a second time. This vacuum also comes with an odor neutralizer. If you’ve ever noticed that old vacuums can smell musty, even after cleaning them, you’ll like this feature. Shark includes an odor pod that fits into a special spot on the vacuum. I’m not sure how long it lasts, but I’d guess a few months with regular use. You get one in the box, but you’ll need to buy more later. It’s also good to know the vacuum uses a HEPA filter to trap 99.99% of dust and allergens, so they stay out of the air. The vacuum has LED headlights, which is a nice feature. We’re used to Dyson’s green LEDs that really show hair and dust, and while Shark’s lights do this a bit, they mostly help brighten up dark corners or closets. For $500 (or $350 on sale), I think it’s a good value if you want a vacuum that gives a really deep clean. It’s light enough to replace a stick vacuum, but for us, it works well alongside one. We don’t always use it for quick cleanups, but for deep cleaning, this is our go-to.

The Shark Vertex Pet Powered Lift Away Upright Vacuum is a serious upgrade over the battery powered stick vacuums we’ve been using for the past couple of years. Its cleaning performance is impressive, and the versatility built into the Lift Away design makes it useful in far more situations than I expected. It’s louder and heavier than our stick vacs, but the tradeoff is worth it for the superior cleaning power. Cleaning Performance. The first thing that stood out was just how much material the Shark collected from rooms that had already been vacuumed with our stick vac. A quick pass with the Vertex Pet Lift Away pulled up an unexpected amount of dust, hair, and debris. It left the familiar vacuum lines in the carpet that I’ve come to associate with a fresh cleaning, and it noticeably raised the carpet pile in the traffic lanes. It makes a great first impression. On carpet, the Shark Vertex performs exceptionally well. On solid surfaces, it does a great job picking up the small stuff that tends to collect in corners where the floor meets the baseboard. One pass, and it’s gone. Shark calls the brush rollers the DuoClean PowerFins HairPro. That’s a lot of words that, by my observation, means pet hair and my wife’s shoulder-length hair are no problem. It all gets picked up, and the brushroll somehow doesn’t have any hair wrapped around it. Pretty cool. Lift Away Functionality. The Lift Away feature is terrific. With the press of a button, I can detach the canister and have the full suction power of a plug in upright combined with the maneuverability of a stick vac. It fits easily under and around furniture without dragging the entire vacuum body along. The dust bunnies hiding under the couch or bed are in easy reach when operating the vacuum in the Lift-Away configuration. This versatility is one of the standout features of the Vertex Pet. It’s not just an upright vacuum; it’s a multi purpose cleaning tool that adapts to whatever job needs doing. Tools and Attachments. Shark includes four attachments, and they’re genuinely useful. Pet Multi Tool: This was perfect for cleaning window screens. I initially thought the Pet Power Brush would be the right choice, but the powered brush was surprisingly aggressive. The gentler Multi Tool was ideal and worked beautifully. Pet Power Brush: This attachment shines on carpeted stairs. It pulled up embedded hair and dust with ease. It’s powerful, and you can feel it working and observe the immediate results. The Pet Crevice Tool is perfect for reaching the stubborn hair and debris where the step meets the stair riser. It gets into places the main vacuum head can’t reach. The Dusting Brush is great on solid surfaces like bookshelves, end tables, and TV stands. It picks up dust without scattering it. Noise and Weight At 1300 watts, the Shark Vertex Pet Powered Lift Away Upright Vacuum is significantly louder than the stick vacs we’ve been using. It’s also noticeably heavier. Neither is a dealbreaker, but they’re worth mentioning. The increased noise and weight are small tradeoffs for the superior cleaning performance. I anticipate a cleaning routine where the stick vacs handle daily or spot cleaning, and the Shark Vertex is reserved for weekend deep cleaning. Overall, we are very impressed by the cleaning power of the Shark Vertex Pet Powered Lift Away Upright Vacuum. It delivers a level of performance that our stick vacs simply cannot match. The Lift Away functionality adds versatility, the attachments are genuinely useful, and the vacuum excels on carpet, solid surfaces, stairs, and even window screens. It’s louder and heavier than what we’ve been using, but those are minor compromises for the results it delivers. The Shark Vertex Pet Powered Lift Away Upright Vacuum is a powerful, capable cleaning tool. If you want a vacuum that actually deep cleans, this one is easy to recommend.

The Shark- Vertex Pet Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum is a fabulous new edition for my home. I know when I get a Shark/Ninja product I am not going to be disappointed and this unit is no exception. Build quality is nice and it was overall simple to put together 1-2-3 done. It's not too heavy coming in at about 16 Ibs. The Shark - Vertex Pet Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum is powerful and suction is great and at times it feels like it is pulling itself forward. It picks up most anything of my carpet that is most likely due to the dual rollers it has up front. I really like this design and it's easy to pop off and clean if you ever need to. This model is designed with pets in mind as it comes with the following attachments: the Pet Crevice Tool, the Pet Multi-Tool, and the Pet Power Brush. Of course these attachments can be used for your everyday cleaning as well. The Shark - Vertex Pet Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum has a powered lift-away design where you can separate the pod and lift it up the stairs for example to reach other hard to reach spots. Emptying the vacuum is super easy as well, detach it from the base and release the bottom of the dust cup and you're done! Other features that I appreciate are the easy of replacing the HEPA filters as that is really important for my household as we all have allergies. You can get replacements on the Shark/Ninja website. Another unique feature the Shark - Vertex Pet Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum has is the odor neutralizing technology, it's basically a small scented cartridge that installs on the vacuum and the air that get blown out when vacuuming is scented and therefore neutralizing odors. Great if you have pets!

You know you've mature when you are excited to try a new vacuum for your home. But honestly I was excited to take this out of the box and set it up. I'm by no means a neat freak but when it comes to dust and hair I try to keep the floors and carpets clean. I suffer from allergies year round and having extra dust, dead skin, hair and pollen around can wreak havoc on my respiratory system. I've owned a smaller version of a shark vacuum before so I had an idea of what to expect from this company. Anywho, this vacuum is a bit larger and bulkier than what I typically prefer to vacuum with but I love that it is easily "taken apart" for vacuuming harder to reach areas of your floors and home. You can pull of the dust canister off the vacuum and you'll just have the wand connected to the floor roller so that you can easily clean furniture, under tables, under couches, and tables or stairs. The wand also comes apart easily so you can use it to reach high areas that might have collected dust and cobwebs. It comes with three separate attachments for different cleaning jobs. It has a self cleaning power brush, a dusting brush and a crevice tool. All very handy and useful. The vacuum feels quite premium and like it will serve me for several years. Having owned a Shark Vertex before, I am confident that this one is also high quality and will just work and get the job done. I was very surprised and impressed by how much dust this vacuum lifted away from our bedrooms, because I had just cleaned about 2 days prior with our older and smaller vacuum. I couldn't believe it. I thought to myself.. No wonder my nose gets so stuffy in here! The picture I am going to attach is how it looked after the first run. So much dust! The Shark Vertex lift away also has this cool feature on the brush roller. You can install a deodorizing canister into it. I believe the air flows through it, carrying out the odor neutralizing fragrance. It has a dial on top which can be adjusted for scent strength. I have it set to about medium and admittedly.. I can't really smell any fragrance from it. I'll have to set it to max the next time I use it. It's not a feature I was really looking for in a vacuum but I enjoy having it. I haven't researched what it will cost to replace the scent cartridge but I imagine it would be too expensive. If I had to complain about anything about the shark vertex pet powered lift-away upright vacuum.. Is that the cord is a little shorter than I would like. My last Shark vertex had a cord so long I could reach every corner and every bedroom of our apartment from the outlet in our living room. Our apartment isn't huge but it has plenty of outlets so it's not a deal breaker for me. Just a minor inconvenience. This vacuum is very powerful and I think I'm starting to notice a slight difference in my allergic reactions. My nose isn't as stuffy lately and I think I can thank this Shark Vertex for that. It is doing an amazing job at sucking up dust, pollen, and hair. Would I recommend this to a friend? Absolutely! Especially if you have pets in your home and or suffer from allergies year round like I do. Every little bit helps when it comes to combatting allergies, and having a powerful vacuum is a must.

The Shark Performance Powered Lift-Away Vacuum is my new favorite vacuum and is easily one of the best designed vacuums on the market. It blends the heavy duty suction of a plug in upright vacuum with the flexibility of a portable canister. Whether vacuuming thick carpet or vacuuming of corners on hard surfaces, it consistently delivers a hassle-free clean. IN THE BOX Inside the box you’ll get the vacuum unit; duster crevice device; pet multi-tool/upholstery attachment; self cleaning pet power brush; odor cartridge; and the owner’s manual. Putting it together was a breeze. Not only is it easy to figure it out on your own, Shark smartly puts the instructions on the box as you open it to walk you through it. DESIGN Shark really prioritized ergonomics. At the push of a button, the canister lifts off the floor nozzle wand while keeping power supplied directly to the canister. This allows you to carry the canister (which is relatively light) while holding the wand. You can hold the handheld wand to get under things (or I like it to vacuum carpeted steps). You can even remove the canister and keep the handle on the floor nozzle to get underneath smaller spaces - that the canister would otherwise block. The brushroll is self cleaning. It has special technology that continuously removes wrapped hair as you vacuum. I haven’t had the vacuum long enough to truly test this out, but so far, it’s remained clean with nothing wrapped around the brushroll. It has anti-allergen complete seal so it trusts virtually all dust, dander and airborne particles inside the vacuum rather than releasing them back into your living space. This is a big deal as it’s one of the big knocks on canister dustbins. Most of the time, you have to use bags to get this type of filtration (and bags are still better if you have serious allergies - which this vacuum does not utilize). It has bright lights integrated on the floor nozzle. This might not sound like a big deal, but I was pleasantly surprised as it highlights dust, especially on hard surfaces so you can see what your vacuuming. And the controls on the handle are simple and straightforward to use. There’s the power button, and a slider to control whether you are on bare floor, low carpets, or thick carpets. Other vacuums have similar features, but you’re required to bend down to the floor nozzle to make those adjustments. PERFORMANCE AND USAGE In day-to-today cleaning, this vacuum shines primarily because of its usefulness. One device can vacuum for all scenarios. Whether you’re vacuuming dirts out of the corners of baseboards, or heavy area rugs, or vacuuming carpeted stairs, you can easily and quickly move from scenario-to-scenario to quickly vacuum up all areas of your living space. I was impressed with its ability to pick up dirt and dropped crumbs on the baseboards. It picks things up on a single pass without scattering dirt. I find the vacuum easy to maneuver and use. I had to push a little harder on one of our thick area rugs, but this particular rug causes problems for all sorts of vacuums. But what impressed me the most vs. our battery operated cordless vacuum was getting more dirt and debris out of the rug on a single pass. I do want to add that while I like the odor neutralizer cartridge (it does leave a nice scent) it’s not something I intend on buying more of. But you might feel differently. My point is, it does actually work in leaving a subtle clean scent. CONCLUSION While not the cheapest vacuum and not even the cheapest Shark model, I think this is an excellent value proposition for its versatility and performance. It’s bigger than stick vacuums that you might use for small areas or quick jobs, it can handle quick jobs easily and be there for when you need more power. One vacuum to rule them all so to speak. It’s earned its keep and I’m glad to have it in my household.

Theres a new star in our household and it’s the Shark Vertex! This is not your grandma’s vacuum cleaner. All kidding aside, I have been impressed by this vacuum and how it changed the way I cleaned. This is a powerful, easy to use, light weight vacuum and it won’t disappoint. I want to be upfront, when I say it’s light weight, I actually mean the lift away section of the vacuum. When all put together it is a normal “full sized” vacuum weight. Unboxing and setup were easy to do and while I thought it would be complicated at first, it turned out to only take me a few minutes. You simply will just attach the detachable hose, wand, attachments and main vacuum to the “structure” that holds it all together. The final step was installing the scent cartridge/housing. Overall, it was less than 10 minutes and that was with breaking down the box. Accessories include a crevice tool, multi-tool with removable brush tip (your stand wide mouth), and a powered pet brush. All three work great and the multi and crevice tool also say they “pet” but there is no difference compared to a normal set so not sure why they had to add that in. The powered tool is super strong to help pick up hair and dirt. It is also air powered, but still has a belt which could break in the future…. but with my experience with shark vacuums, I haven’t had any belts that snapped. The only flaw is there is no place to store the powered brush on the vacuum or clip for the hose, and it’s currently just stored on the floor next to my vacuum’s storage spot. The lift away is this vacuums stronghold. Use it to clean the steps more safely or detach it while keeping the main head still attached so you can vacuum under furniture with full power and ease. Shark really has invested in this technology, and it shows. You will love it and once you have it, you won’t be able to live without it. The vacuum overall performs very well. Suction is always strong and consistent while it’s also not that loud compared to must full sized vacuums. The wheels on the vacuum glide and moveability is smooth and easy which aided me to vacuum quickly when needed or without any resistance. The fit, finish and quality are high with a premium feel. The main motor head has bright LEDs to aid you with cleaning and scent cartridge is not potent and you can turn it off. The scent did not make me feel sick or give me a headache, but I also kept it very low. I love the controls on the handle which allow you to turn on/ff the vacuum with your thumb and also change the pile/suction level within three modes. Overall, the Shark Vertex Pet Powered Lift-Away is a great vacuum and it has made my life easier with a toddler and pets. The hand controls, ease of use, and high quality make this vacuum an almost must buy or should be on top of your list if you are in the market.

I have 2 hairy beasts that shed fur all over the place. 1 is white the other is black. Both furries creates soooooo much fur and I have 3 robot vacuums. 2 Sharks downstairs and 1 upstairs. So adding this upright toy arsenal just helps keep the fur in check and to help my kid and wife with their allergies. Setup on this upright is super easy. No tools needed. Snap everything together and you are all set. Operation is super easy.... Turn on turn off. 3 settings for height or type of surface. Dual rollers really picks things up. I already had 2 vacuums go through the family room where my dogs hang out most of the time and this vacuum still picked up more. Emptying out the bin is super easy. Cord length is ok. I wished it was a little longer. Wand use is easy. 3 attachments. 1 with a roller that helps pull more hair and fur. My wife and daughters long hair did not clog cause issues with the rollers. So it lived up to my family's long hair. Floor operating is good. Only thing I can ding this upright is the size. This vacuum is HUGE! It is also pretty heavy so make sure you are aware of this. But suction, roller, and pet and long human hair performance is great!

I live in a townhouse apartment that is almost entirely carpet, because that was the “luxury” thing to do in the early to mid-2000s. What the designers didn’t think of was having pets and people that shed a lot, or the indoor dust accumulation during Wisconsin’s warm & humid summers! I’ve challenged a lot of vacuums to take on the task of leaving my carpets acceptably clean and most that aren’t a top-end Dyson or the version of this vacuum that doesn’t lift away failed that challenge. Usually in the form of hard-to-reach spots that only a stick, lift-away can reach or not really sucking up the dust from the HVAC system or getting so incredibly clogged with my SO’s medium length brown hair that they refuse to spin and burn out the motor! Shark’s Vertex Pet Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum aced this challenge! Handedly taking on hair clumps that would cause many others to immediately clog, grabbed an embarrassingly large amount of dust from the carpets, and was able to successfully suck up a shoelace & hair tie, the usual culprits of vacuum defeats. The Shark Vertex Pet handled all my cleaning tests perfectly, looks nice if you have to have it in the open for a bit, and the lift-away function allows you to easily clean under, inside, and the tops of furniture, stairs, and other very hard to reach places! The handle and vacuum head fit perfectly under our bed and couch, with some room to spare, too. This thing was able to more than handle its own going head-to-head with my “fancy” Dyson stick vacuum, the [still] reigning champ pet and long human hair destroyer, but at half the cost and nowhere near the complexity of the Dyson as there is no app, charging, or the cleaning (lol of the cleaning tool) that a cordless stick vacuum requires! I’ll surely be trading off between the two depending on cleaning needs, the stick vacuum is cordless, but the Shark will keep swimming up dirt long after the battery of the other dies. It’ll be a while of more testing, and probably some nagging by a parent, on which will stick at home or be passed on to the parents. I know my mom has been begging for a “fancy battery Dyson like yours” for a while, and Shark may have just sealed the Dyson’s fate to move on from dog and my SO’s shedding to my mom’s three cats. Overall, this is an excellent choice for the home that has a lot of nooks & crannies to clean and occupants with hair that likes to jam up most cleaning tools! If you can get it on a good sale, that’s even better, but the Shark Vertex Pet is an incredible value at any price!

The Shark Vertex offers deep cleaning for the pet lover in you, all without the headache of having to detangle the rollers and scrape out the dust bin. Are you a pet lover with multiple pet kids? Then this may be the right fit for you. At first glance you may notice that this unit looks like your typical vacuum cleaner with no real distinguishing features. However this unit really shines in three key areas, its ability to deep clean carpets, tangle free rollers and hassle free waste bin. First thing i want to talk about is its deep cleaning abilities. To put things in perspective i have 2 pets and 3 teenage kids so you can imagine how messy things can get. While vacuuming my main family den area after pulling the initial top level debris up, such as pet hair and trash, the unit then proceeded to pull dirt and dust up. After pulling up all the dirt and dust it then began pulling up sand. What impressed me about this was that my other vacuums missed the sand and never pulled that up. I was actually very surprised to see sand in my dust bin and when emptying the bin, there was so much sand that it dropped to bottom of my trash can with a very heavy loud "thud". Now having 2 long hair german shepherds means that there is hair everywhere and tangles within cleaning devices is always a issue. Not once did i have to clean out my rollers and that's with me filling two bins up with dog hair. Speaking of the bin, removal of waste is simple, and clean. Simply hold the bin over your trash can and hit release button to allow the chute to open and dump the waste. This unit does come with a detachable wand with add ons to allow you to clean hard to reach spaces such as stair wells or even the floor boards of your vehicle. Here's the bottom line and my two cents. I have owned two upright Shark vacuum cleaners in the past and one thing i can confidently attest to is their reliability and suction power. These units last for years with little to no problems and in most cases will never quit on you. My last shark i had for 10 years and only stopped using it because i wanted something newer. If you are looking for something that is going to perform above and beyond for both humans and pets all without breaking the bank, well guess what, this unit is for you.

Never thought I’d be getting excited about a vacuum, but here we are. My husband and I have two short-haired dogs that shed constantly. Over the last few years, we bought into all of the hype around cordless vacuums. At first, I thought they were equivalent when I came to cleaning ability while having the added benefit of being more portable. My opinion has done a full 180 since using the Shark Vertex. This thing is far more powerful, has a larger dust bin, and is honestly just as portable as previous cordless vacs that we’ve used. Not to mention I don’t have to remember to plug it in to charge after every use or worry about battery degradation or disposal. Just plug it in and there’s never a loss of power or need to stop to swap batteries. I ran a little test by vacuuming the upper level of our home back to back with a cordless vacuum, then the Shark Vertex. Even after cleaning with the cordless vac, I filled the entire dust bin of the Shark Vertex. That blows my mind and grosses me out to know how much embedded hair and dirt remained in our carpet. Kinda makes me want to rip it all out. Some day. The Shark Vertex is fairly lightweight and extremely versatile. Switches on the handle allow you to switch from cleaning hard floors to low pile or high pile carpeting. It only takes the push of one button to remove the top handle from the wand and start using the crevice or stair tools. One button detaches the body of the vacuum from the wand and roller and essentially puts you in a handheld mode. And you guessed it, a single button releases the dust bin door so it can be emptied. Less than 10 seconds and it’s all back together. One thing that I originally thought was a bit of a gimmick is the odor neutralizer. I’m happy to say this is actually a nice addition to the vacuum. Definitely not a necessity, but a nicety. If you’re a pet parent or have kiddos and do a lot of cleaning up nasty things, you know what it feels like for a vacuum’s nasty smelling exhaust air to hit you straight in the face. Because the Shark Vertex has a little scent pod in it, the vented air actually smells nice. Shark claims these pods last about 6 months each. A two pack of replacements is currently available on their website for $19.99. We’ll see if I order more and keep using this feature once this first pod is all used up. All in all, I really like this vacuum’s power and versatility. Big name vacuum brands are expensive, but I think this one is a great value if your house tends to be covered in hair, especially if you can snag it on a sale.

I've owned long haired dogs my entire life; in that time, I've investigated/owned a lot of products slapped with the "pet" moniker. I started out with canister type vacuums, including some very expensive Electrolux and Mieli models. Each of these would perform admirably for 2 or 3 years, but eventually the head unit would give out after the rollers/brushes were choked with hair on a consistent basis. When the upright type of vacuums started to produce pet themed models, we switched over; they too performed well; and somewhat better than the canisters at removing hair, but none of them would operate for more than a couple of hours without the need to turn them over and attack the rollers with razor blades and pliers to dislodge the clog. I've run the Vertex for about 4 hours total at this point, and I think they came up with something with their "DuoClean Powerfins HairPro" (who comes up with this stuff anyway!) which basically amounts to a two roller system. So far, looks like it actually works. The rollers actually stay clean, far better than anything I've owned before. Included is a Pet crevice tool, a Pet Multi-tool, and a Pet Power Brush (ok, we get it with the pet name for everything), but I found the power brush to be the most effective addition. Worked really well for the upholstered sofas/chairs (yes, they watch Netflix with us). The Lift-Away function is a great feature, when you need to get to high places, stairs, or any other area where you can't maneuver the entire vacuum. One note about that - I've broken fingernails trying to disassemble/detach parts on vacuums. Shark has designed this model very well - the controls work smoothly, and reassemble with a satisfying click that reassures you it went together right. So far, the Shark has proven to be a very competent cleaning took, if you're like me and will never be without a canine companion, I would recommend you give the Vertex a look-see.

The Shark Vertex Pet Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum has quickly become my main-floor vacuum. I have used several vacuums over the years, but this one has the right mix of strong cleaning power, easy handling, and useful features. It does a great job on both carpet and hard floors, and it feels powerful without being difficult to control. The first thing I noticed was the suction. This vacuum pulls up an impressive amount of dust, pet hair, and other debris. The clear dust cup makes the results easy to see, although sometimes it also makes you wonder how your floors became that dirty in the first place. Even when the carpet looks clean, the Shark usually finds more hiding below the surface. The DuoClean PowerFins floor head uses two different rollers to clean the floor. The soft front roller helps collect fine dust and larger pieces from hard floors, while the PowerFins dig into carpet fibers and pull out hair and dirt. The vacuum moves smoothly between surfaces, so I do not have to stop and change attachments or settings every time I move from a rug to hardwood flooring. Pet hair is another area where this Shark performs well. Hair does not seem to wrap around the brush roll as quickly as it does on many traditional vacuums. No vacuum is completely maintenance-free, but I have spent much less time cutting tangled hair away from the roller. That alone makes the vacuum easier to live with. The Powered Lift-Away feature is also useful. The main canister can be removed from the floor base while the powered cleaning head continues to operate. This makes it easier to clean under furniture and reach areas where a full upright vacuum may not fit. The hose and wand also work well for stairs, furniture, corners, and baseboards. One feature I did not expect to appreciate as much as I do is the odor-neutralizing scent system. The vacuum releases a light, fresh scent while it runs. It does not replace normal cleaning, but it leaves the room smelling cleaner after vacuuming. The scent level can also be adjusted, which is helpful for people who prefer either a lighter or stronger fragrance. I enjoy the fresh smell and think it adds to the overall cleaning experience. The controls are simple and easy to understand. The vacuum has settings for different floor types, and switching between them does not require digging through menus or reading a complicated manual. The steering is responsive, allowing the vacuum to turn around furniture and move through tighter areas without feeling clumsy. The dust cup is large enough for normal cleaning sessions and is easy to remove and empty. Like most bagless vacuums, emptying it can create some dust if you are not careful, but the process is quick. The filters will need occasional cleaning to keep the suction working properly, but they are easy to access. My biggest complaint is the tool storage. I have already had times when I wanted to clean furniture or a narrow space but did not have the correct attachment nearby. Better onboard storage would make the Shark feel like a more complete cleaning system. Even with that frustration, I am very impressed with the Shark Vertex Pet Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum. It has strong suction, handles pet hair well, moves easily between floor types, and leaves the room smelling fresh. It has become the vacuum I reach for most often on our main floor, which is probably the best compliment I can give it. The missing tool storage keeps it from receiving a perfect score, but the actual cleaning performance is excellent. I would recommend it to pet owners, families, and anyone who wants a powerful upright vacuum that can handle several types of flooring.

I have owned a lot of vacuums over the years, but the Shark Vertex Pet Upright vacuum is the first one that genuinely feels like it beats all my other purchases. When I look for a new vacuum, I always try to narrow it down to the following features that are important to me as a user: 1. comfort of using it 2. suction power 3. how easy it is to clean after you are done vacuuming. I'll try to elaborate on these three items and hope it will help you determine whether this Shark vacuum is for you. My vacuuming schedule is pretty much every other day. We have rugs and hardwood floors. I find that cleaning in tight spaces, upholstery, and stairs is made much easier thanks to the Lift‑Away feature. A particularly useful aspect is the ability to detach the pod while maintaining power to the brushroll, which helps immensely when reaching under furniture. However, at over 16 pounds, this vacuum is noticeably heavy to push around. On the plus side, the inclusion of LED headlights (love it!) is a detail that stands out by uncovering hidden dust you might otherwise miss. My kids started to enjoy vacuuming just because they can see the end result: as you run it and it sheds light on the floor, you see all kinds of dust and once you go over it once, it is gone. One thing I know is the Shark Vertex Pet vacuum is a true powerhouse, particularly if your home seems to "hoard" a lot of dust, has mixed flooring or has hairy pets. When using this vacuum, I immediately noticed the incredibly strong suction. On our Persian rugs, the PowerFins dig deep to pull up embedded hair and hidden debris better than any vacuum I've used before. When I vacuum hard floors, the soft roller glides seamlessly, picking up everything from fine dust to larger crumbs without scattering them. I think where this vacuum truly shines is dealing with pet hair, we have a dog that sheds a lot. If you have pets, the self‑cleaning brushroll is an absolute game‑changer, ensuring you never have to stop mid‑clean to cut tangled hair out of the roller. One thing I must mention about it, it is louder than I expected not unbearable, but definitely noticeable. Being so powerful at 1300 Watts, it does make some "vacuum noise". The build quality feels solid and durable, and the 30‑foot cord gives you plenty of reach. Cleaning and emptying the dust container is easy: detach the dust cup, press the release latch and debris drops straight out. For deeper cleaning, you can fully remove the cup and wash it with water. I am one of those users who like to keep my vacuums clean as well, so I take time and make sure the dust bin stays clean by rinsing the cup and mesh screen under warm water. Just make sure you air dry it well before putting it back together. Overall, I am pretty happy with this Shark Vertex. It isn’t the lightest or quietest vacuum, but its cleaning performance is outstanding in my opinion. If you prioritize suction power, pet‑hair removal and versatility, it’s one of the best upright vacuums you can buy. It’s the kind of machine that makes you realize how much your old vacuum was leaving behind.

We needed to replace our trusty but aging Shark vacuum which has been a rock star and so I chose the new Vertex Lift-Away upright as its worthy successor. My wife has a hair salon attached to our main residence and we also have cats so any vacuum has its work cut out for it! The Vertex is a solid product. It has a satisfying heft but is effortless to roll around. It is also the Swiss Army knife of vacuums that you can easily reconfigure for any cleaning task. Everything snaps together and you can convert it from a standard stand up push vacuum to a carry-around unit with an extended wand, to a handheld upholstery cleaner in just seconds. The unit has a generous dust bin with multiple filters (which you can wash out and reuse!) and couldn't be easier to disconnect and empty. No bags to buy, just unsnap and drop the trap door over your garbage can. The included HEPA filter provides what Shark calls "Anti-Allergen Complete Seal" which basically means that any significant dust particles get trapped rather than just recirculating into the air. This is extremely important if your are prone to allergies. The power cleaning head has a very cleverly engineered height adjustable, dual beater brush design that allows you to switch from thick carpet and area rugs to low pile to hard floor surfaces at the touch of a button. Also, the unit is designed to avoid clogging. It is self clearing and works very well. A couple of other features include LED headlights (useful) to an "Odor Neutralizer Technology" replaceable pod that freshens the air as you vacuum (a little gimmicky). I was impressed from the moment I first used this thing. I re-vacuumed my living room which had been totally cleaned two days before and was embarrassed by the amount of additional dirt that the Vertex picked up. I also have a low-pile area rug where the cats sleep and a couple passes with this unit had it looking like new! The unit has a number of optional attachments that you can buy separately but mine came with the pet crevice tool, the pet multi-tool, and the pet power brush. All have proven to be useful additions for our needs. Shark has once again hit it out of the park with this vacuum and I highly recommend it!

Shark - Vertex Pet Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum The Shark Vertex vacuum was very easy to assemble. It moves effortlessly around objects and picks up even the smallest particles. Dog hair lifted right off the carpet and hardwood easily and the odor neutralizer worked well at masking the smell. The canister lifts off the vacuum and empties with a quick touch of a button. It is very easy to clean and has a large tank for debris. The handle and container are detachable and makes it easier to handle for wand cleaning up high, down low or on steps. It came with three attachments that make cleaning much easier. The small, motorized head worked well on stairs. The flat end cleaned the upholstery and mattress tops. The wand made it nice to reach down in between the cushions on sofas and chairs. I really like the suction power it has to pick up and make cleaning a breeze. The whole unit was slightly large and heavy making it difficult for carrying to different floors of the house and storage can be a problem if you don’t have much closet space. I give the Shark Vertex vacuum 5 stars and would recommend it as a main vacuum for all types of floors.

As I stated in the title, I have been a huge fan of the products coming out of Shark and Ninja, so this product review will reflect on my past history of purchases My wife wanted a new vacuum since our current one has seen it's better days When we started looking, we naturally gravitated to the new Shark Vertex line, and since we have a pet in our house constantly and grand pets visiting frequently, the pet version took our attention immediately. So we brought one home and have used it a few times before I wrote this Besides the quality brand - Shark, we liked that it will operate like any other upright vacuum and can be pushed around Adding to that, the ability to carry or pull this around as a canister vacuum had a lot of plusses for us When it comes to attachments, they have one included for every possible job (at least what I can think of) and they attach simply So how did it work? Like a champ Our dog is a giant breed (Mastiff) and sheds like any other dog, just in amounts proportional to her size. This vacuum tackeld right through the bob and got most hair on the first pass It cleaned out quickly, and so far did not see any of the hair tangles that can cause you much time with scissors cutting away The vacuums exhaust also seemed cleaner and the air didn't take on that "just vacuumed" smell. Maybe it was because of a new vacuum, but I believe that they just have better exhaust air purification Overall we are very pleased with our purchase, and confident that it will last like the rest of our Shark products in our house

We’ve had various brands of vacuums over the years that have given us experience with a variety of features and price points. This Shark Vertex Pet Powered Lift-Away upright vacuum offers some great features and is an especially good deal when one catches it on sale. Setup is a simple process of assembling the respective parts together and no tools needed which is nice and efficient. The vacuum cord length is sufficient and should provide decent access to one’s cleaning space without unplugging too often. I like the Hawaiian Grey accent color as it’s a nicer shade than plain old grey. This particular vacuum has some nice design features that really improve the functionality of this model. Foremost is the location of the power button and the switch for floor surface mode as they are both conveniently located on the curve at the top of the handle. No more bending over to power on the vacuum or to switch between bare floors and carpet. The remaining buttons on the vacuum are also clearly labeled and located for ease of removing the dust collector bin or detaching the powered lift-away for portable cleaning. The biggest criteria met is what one ends up with in the dust cup after vacuuming. It is still amazing to see the dust and debris collected after one vacuums what appears to be a clean floor. The end result is clear, visual proof that the suction this vacuum provides is more than sufficient to clean bare floors to carpet. I also tried the accessory tools which one can use at the handle or wand release points of the handle portion of the vacuum. Most all of the accessory tools store onboard the vacuum cleaner, and I had no issues with them coming unattached during vacuuming. I’ll be interested to see over time how the DuoClean PowerFins HairPro design works as it is typically inevitable that hair and thread get wrapped around vacuum rollers. Shark notes that if one sees hair on the brush roll to continue vacuuming on carpet/low pile mode on a bare or low carpet surface to enable the self-cleaning brush roll to remove hair and send it to the dust bin. The LED headlights actually come in handy when cleaning near furniture edges or in darker corners. I’m undecided on the Odor Neutralizer Technology as I’m not really sure it’s necessary but perhaps my opinion will change over time. The odor cartridge can be removed from the dial if one does not want this feature enabled. Routine maintenance means monthly cleaning of the pre-motor filters and yearly cleaning of the HEPA filter. Lastly, Shark provides a five-year warranty on parts and labor which is nice and gives some assurance of them standing behind their product. I’d recommend this Shark upright vacuum as an effective cleaner with lots of useful, well-designed features. It’s a great option for providing an upright vacuum that also allows for portable use by simply using the powered lift-away portion of this vacuum.

When you need to clean up after a beast, you need a beast of your own. And let me tell you, this Shark Vertex Lift-Away vacuum is the beast that you need. Right out of the box this vacuum has made me happy. It is very easy to assemble with maybe six total parts to snap together. No tools required. And the setup guide is printed right on the box! Essentially its just attaching the handle to the base, adding the dust receptable, attaching the hose, inserting the air purifier into the base, and away you go! From box open to first vacuum was no more than 15 minutes. Once put into use, this vacuum showed that it is an apex dirt predator. Dirt does not stand a chance and I honestly cannot see any other vacuum that could even try and prey on this vacuum. The first vacuum with this hefty machine was a heavy traffic area that had been vacuumed and carpet cleaned in the last week. The amount of dirt that this vacuum pulled up even having been recently cleaned was impressive! The carpet looked cleaner, newer, and even felt newer! On top of all that, and possibly even more impressively, the room even smelled cleaner thanks to the air purified attached. Normally I need to crank any scent up to 11 for me to smell a difference, but I decided to leave this adjustable filter on the lowest setting and even at this setting it was a noticeable difference! The lift-away function has also been a godsend. The pictures for this vacuum show someone using this function to vacuum under furniture, which I suppose could be helpful. However I love it for stairs and cars. As I mentioned previously, this vacuum is hefty is both stature and weight. Its not heavy enough that it is overly cumbersome for the average user, however if you have ailments that effect your mobility, you may find this vacuum a little bit difficult to use. That being said, it does pivot nicely and is not annoying to work around corners or objects. If I had to pick a downfall for this vacuum, it would be tool storage. This vacuum comes with three useful tools, however it only has storage for two. And that storage is not secure at all. Every time I have vacuumed at least one of the tools has fallen off the vacuum. I just started putting the tools in a basket in the closet that I store the vacuum and grabbing them as needed. However this is just a small inconvenience that is completely offset by the performance of this monster. Do you need a new vacuum to take over the heavy lifting for your home? This Shark Vertex is what you are looking for. It is a corded heavyweight that will knock out filth in the first round and leave your home feeling rejuvenated. If its in your budget, don't hesitate. Just buy!
