Sharp - 30-In. Flush Mount Built-In Trim Kit for Microwave Oven - Silver

I have had built-in trim kits for each of the microwave ovens that I have used in my home for 43 years now. While we love the Sharp convection/microwave unit that we have now, this trim kit for it (only one available) has some design problems that the previous ones did not have. This one mounts to the wall where the microwave cavity is located instead of mounting directly to the microwave unit cabinet itself (like the previous ones did). Since my wall cavity is a bit larger than the size the directions specify, there is no wood there to properly mount the trim kit. So I am now working out the details to add some small pieces of 2x4 wood in the 4 corners to provide a place to use the mounting screws to secure the inside frame of the trim kit to the wall. While this should work out fine, I did not anticipate the added work to finish this project. The trim kit looks good and was delivered in first class condition, even though it was an open box return at Best Buy. My gripes are aimed at Sharp and not Best Buy.

Not happy at all. First pur window for installation was 12 noon to 8 pm to big window. Second tech didn’t show up until 9 pm he did call said been running behind. Third, he was confused by trim kit for sharp microwave in cabinet set up. Turns out was sold wrong trim kit this one was to big for unit I purchased.returned it to Best Buy was wrong but right trim kit not available so now what? Well was given model # of right one told to see if can find it somewhere else. This is a total remodel of a condo not just one stinking appliance and it’s not even right.
