I agonized about buying a new TV for my bedroom - this TV is perfect. The quality is amazing - the sound is awful but I myself pre ordered a soundbar because let's face it - most TVs don't have that sound we all want. Set up was a breeze - so much that I thought I'd done it wrong because it was so fast!

Really great picture and sound. I live out of town and do not have cable. With just an inexpensive antenna I am able to receive more than 20 channels. As with all flat panel TV's the speakers are in the rear. The surround sound option provides a very good overall sound. I would have to say that the Sharp TV lives up to the name of the store, Best Buy. The price was competitive with TV's whose brand you never even heard of.

Can't beat the price ($200 when I bought it), and I've been using it as a third computer monitor for a month or so now. It's been great for that purpose, but I can't comment on its use for games or sports, etc.

This is the first TV I have owned in over 15 years, and it was the perfect choice as an entry-level flatscreen 1080p. Sale price under $200 made it all the more desirable.

This product is more than I expected. Is very easy to use and picks up the channels that it's supposed to it helps you to setup your Dish Network if you have Dish Network to the channel they have it program to.

This isn't a fancy TV. This isn't a top-of-the-line TV. But it absolutely gets the job done, and at a totally reasonable price. I've had mine for a few weeks, used it quite a bit, and I have no regrets!

This TV is just fine for a bedroom or guest room. No problems with it whatsoever. The sound could be a little better, but nothing a soundbar couldn't take care of.

For a $199 tv, this thing rocks. Bought this for our office. Good picture and inputs.

I wanted a cheap tv to use while working out, this one filled the bill. I placed it on the wall just over my treadmill so I wouldn't be bored while running . colors are a little too bright and the remote seems to be hyper sensitive(TV comes on anytime I power on any remote in the room). It will work for a kids room or just a cheap second, but you get what you pay for.

I basically just wanted a monitor for my new security system. Anything beyond was a plus. So size and weight (for mounting) were important and basic features. Definitely didn't need any wi-fi/internet facing capabilities. Sharp quality hasn't disappointed. Good picture and simple but effective remote. Looking forward to football season where I'll be able to enjoy over the air HD broadcasts in the family room while the rest of the fam (non football fans) can watch whatever it is they watch. There was a particularly nice feature I want to point out. In some cases the output of a computer device can get cut off on the edges (like about 30 pixels). That was happening with the image from the security DVR (and is something I've noticed in other computer related cases on other monitors). I was pleasantly surprised to see that Sharp had a menu option to address this and BINGO, the picture was no longer cropped.

At first this TV seemed like a really good deal. Got it on sale for $200. I was glad that the color didn't look washed out when viewing at a side angle. Also, sound is not as bad as everyone claims to be. Second day I noticed problems when watching basic cable. It seemed to happen randomly, but there were faint black lines on the tv, some channels it was vertical, others horizontal. It was a lot easier to notice when watching cartoons, also a drastic increase in brightness. This only lasted a few minutes at a time, and then it just goes away, but keeps happened about every 30 minutes. It didn't seem to happen on any HD channels though or when playing my ps4. So I figured maybe it's time to just invest in a cable box since HD channels seemed fine. When I upgraded to a cable box I experienced a new problem, ghosting. When people moved, even slightly, it would leave a faint image of them behind, when characters moved fast it was almost unbearable to watch. It was too annoying to just let go. Maybe I just got a lemon, but I decided to just return the TV. Returning at Best Buy was extremely smooth, they just scanned my receipt and that was it. Giving it 3 stars because of the good picture, value, multiple HDMI ports, good customer service, and the possibility that it was just a lemon.

I bought this 40” smart tv for my mother, because she really needed a newer tv to work with her newer satellite box, etc., and she liked my tv with Apple TV set-up, and I first thought that this 2 devices in 1 with only 1 remote, and the price at the time, would be best and easiest for her; after more research, I found out Roku is nowhere near as good as Apple TV, and is much better to get a good standard tv and add any needed accessories (like Apple TV, roku, fire stick, others). Make sure you know what you want and to thoroughly checkout and understand products and features before buying products and needed accessories. I would recommend this product for those with android phones or tablets, but any Apple products would be best just to get a good regular tv (no roku). All in all, this tv works great; good quality picture, sound, decent remote, and well worth the money I paid (it’s not a top high-end tv, but not all would notice -again it works great for standard operation).

Very light weight. Almost no weight. My child was carrying this TV from the store and from my car. Very impressive quality for such money! Works with the cheapest TV Satelite channels. Our TC caught more than 200 free channels. Picture and solid is much better than SONY we had before. I would recommend this TV to anyone. It works great if you have small bedroom. TV is not too small or too big.

My son wasn't really in the market for a TV but when we saw this as an Open Box item, he couldn't resist. The price was great and it was the perfect size for his room. Setting it up was very easy. Scanning channels was easy as well. Going through and deleting the ones you didn't want was a bit tricky but we figured it out. That's my only complaint. Other than that, this is a great TV.

This is a simple bedroom tv. That being said it has a great picture and was easy to set up. If you have a small area to put this make sure the feet will not be to wide as it does not have a pedistal stand. The feet go in at an angle and are a few inches wider in front then they are in the back.

Easy to use and set up. TV is light weight and has attractive styling and the sound is good without extra speakers. The color adjustments don't seem to change it much, although I don't have HD service so maybe that would make a difference. Good quality picture and a marvelous price.

We bought this as a replacement for an LG that had been damaged, and saw various reviewers warning about the sound. I have no idea what they are referring too. Maybe it's just a "knowing, roll your eyes" snark, as in, no you can't expect good sound from a fpd. Never mind all that, we have been quite surprised, and very pleasantly, by both the sumptuous color and rich sound coming from this set before us. Before, yes, we had audio amplification on our old LG, but with this Sharp, we no longer bother with it. (We have a large living room, and we often have to turn it "down" to the 10% setting or so....) It's not just the volume. At least on the model we have, the range of sound seems quite impressive. (and I'm a music "snob" from the 70's -- yes, the bass is there, somehow) Ok, maybe I'm overly impressed -- yet so far, we're quite pleased with this purchase.

This Sharp 40 inch LED backlit LCD 1080i HDTV offers good value for the price. Made by HiSense (a Chinese company under license from Sharp) the set produces a very good quality picture with no obvious artifacts. Good brightness and contrast. The OTA tuner seems to work well. Sound quality is slightly better than average for sets in this class (but still on the tinny side). Be prepared to spend as much on a sound bar as you spent on the set.. The set has 3 HDMI inputs. The negatives are a total lack of component inputs, and no RCA audio out (optical only). The set does not have a one piece stand but two rather small feet attached toward either end. THis makes it hard to place on some pieces of furniture. I found the some 16 x 9 transmissions do not fill the screen but a letter boxed with a large black frame on all sides.

Just purchased the television. It was easy to set up. Instructions are vaugue for connecting a surround sound system with DVD. HDMI connected to display DVD but would not sync audio had to use speaker jack connected to TV and to DVD player to hear audio for television programs. The sound is not as brilliant as advertised its tinny. I reccomend that if you connect sound system disable television audio both playing together causes the sound to sound awkward. Otherwise it has a great bright picture and craves content. 229.00 may be a great price but I think 179.00 would be more sufficient. Enjoy!
