After owning my own pair and loving them, my girl friend tried them and decided she needed a pair of her own! Not only are they absolutely comfortable but the audio quality is surprisingly good. Very stylish and sleek and don’t cause ear pain after wearing for long periods of time. We love being able to listen to our music and hear eachother at the same time (these can get pretty loud if you crank up the volume though!). Over all a great earbud and the most comfortable!

Short quick and simple. Great sound coming from an open ear design. Comfort is effortlessly like you’re not even wearing them. Battery life haven’t had an issue yet

I love the sound. I tried almost all models, new and previous ones and I liked this the most. The battery life is great. I never have to worry about charging it every now and then, for my personal use of course. I use these coming to and from work, walking 1.4 miles one way, listening to my favorite music, and without missing a phone call. I just love my purchase.

Excellent battery life, comfortable, amazing sounds quality

I use to own the Open Dors One but due to some unforeseen circumstances I no longer own them. So when I heard the NEW Open Dots 2 were released I was excited to learn of the new and improved and it certainly didn't disappoint. With the new updated Dolby Audio the sound is EXCEPTIONAL and breathtaking. Of course they also fit great for just casual listening at home or during a fun run. Shokz truly is the new king of the open earbuds.

I bought these after my Powerbeats Pro stopped working and was skeptical about the open-ear design, but I've been pleasantly surprised. They're lightweight, the case is compact, charging is simple, and I like that either earbud can go in either side of the case or either ear. The sound quality is good, and I enjoy being able to hear what's going on around me while wearing them. My only complaints are that I wish they got a little louder, and I occasionally have to adjust their position on my ear to get the clearest sound. If you're looking for earbuds that completely block outside noise with a snug fit, these aren't the best choice. But if you want comfortable, portable earbuds that let you stay aware of your surroundings, they're a solid option.

I never thought I'd jump on board the whole earbud craze or ever purchase a Shokz product, but after testing a demo display I was sold on this particular product. It's amazing. It feels great. The second edition improves on the first by an app that helps you detect where it is, if it was dropped suddenly, or can make loud sound if you need to locate either ear piece. The ear pieces themselves are very light, but not too light, and have that nice soft feeling touch. I actually forget that I'm wearing them while walking or cleaning the house cause my ears won't even feel fatigued/sore. The sound quality is AMAZING! I've always wanted to avoid these open ear devices because I love my music with loud bass and clarity having the ear pieces shoved into my ear canals lol. These are different and sound really good. You can always purchase a second aux cord/USB-C attached ear phones as a reservex pair but these are excellent. Just be sure to keep the case to charge them in (you'll need this and the official app to sync to your cell). The case can recharge your ear pieces quickly multiple times over, and the case can wirelessly charge! If you need any replacement pieces of the entire set it can nkt be paid for separately sadly, although SHOKZ can offer a discount if you email them online towards a new pair purchase.

I use these to commute to work and they stay in very securely. You’ll need to make sure to download the app to take full advantage of the different options when it comes to the sound. I highly recommend these! You barely feel like they are there! 10/10!

Use these for work, at the gym, even when I’m in a store shopping. Great sound whether listening to music or on a call. Other callers can hear me great.

The sound quality and comfort are excellent, allowing for extended wear without any discomfort. At times, I even forget I am wearing them. The audio experience is so immersive that I can still perceive my surroundings, much like having a portable speaker.

Good improvement on open earbuds, now they have a good bass frequency that changes the game

I have had a long-standing apprehension to open-ear headphones because I worried that too much sound would escape, but the OpenDots 2 have completely changed my view on that. These are perfect for listening to audio while keeping tabs on my kids now that they are home for the summer. *Design* The fit of these headphones is amazing. I wear these for over five hours straight some days and have not experienced any discomfort. At most, I feel the slightest bit of soreness when I remove them, but it passes within a minute. Their staying power is also remarkable. They do not move or shift whatsoever, and I can do a full workout with them knowing they will stay put the entire time. *Sound* There is always a trade-off when it comes to open-ear compared to in-ear earbuds, bass and leakage being the main concern, but I find that these do a great job when it comes to these aspects. Unless the environment is exceptionally loud, I do not find leakage to be too noticeable. The bass is quite punchy, deep, and tasteful. The mids are rich and highs are well balanced, clear, and vibrant, with the slightest hint of harshness for certain high beats. Besides music, I listen to lectures and podcasts, and these have been great for standalone vocals as well. They carry the vocals crisply and clearly with the vocal EQ setting being quite helpful in removing any extra bass from it. *Mic* The mic works well but could be better for having three mics. It picks up voice well, but it focuses too much on the deeper frequencies causing the voice to come across as muffled. I also noticed wavering in how it picks up voice so there is a lack of consistency and smoothness plus it cuts out high pitch vocals completely, which I suppose is nice for the person on the other end but not great if you are recording yourself. I have to wonder how much of this is the AI assuming that certain vocals are just background noise. *Intuitiveness* The earbuds come with customizable tap and button “pinch” controls. They are fairly easy to get a hang of and memorize and hard to trigger by accident. *App* These pair with the Shokz app, which allows you to view the battery life of each earbud and the case, switch EQ modes and Dobly, customize gestures, and even locate individual earbuds. The one thing I wish it also had was locating the case, because I do misplace it often. *Battery Life* The battery is something else that I find notable as I am not used to earbuds lasting this long. I listened to them for 5 hours straight while working once and each individual earbuds still had 70% life left. That is longer than indicated on their specs, which states up to 10hours. With the case they have a total of 40-hour playtime, but I wonder if it is more as well considering the forementioned. Additionally, they will give you a whole 2 hours of playtime with just 5 minutes of charge. *Conclusion* Overall, the OpenDots 2 have fully changed my perception of the capabilities of open-ear headphones. The sound output is rich, the design is stable and comfortable, and the battery life is outstanding. They are great for both workouts and environments in which being able to listen to your surroundings is necessary. This have become my go-to right now that my kids are home for the summer, but I want to continue my online studies and work from home.

This work in a room full of screaming children! What more can you ask for. They pair easily, they have a find feature. The app much better than JBLs.

I purchased the Bose, Sony style of ear buds and these are the best. Even with other headphones I never had a person say I can’t hear anything but your voice! The noise cancellation on the other end is great!

Shokz has always offered a premium product, paired with a very functional application. Everyone has different hearing profiles, and Shokz does a great job of providing options to accommodate those. I’m not exaggerating when I say that they are so comfortable you will forget you’re wearing them. They use a design they call JointArc, which is a nickel-titanium frame encased in silicone. I have used many “open-ear" style earbuds, but this is the only one where they adapt to my ear shape rather than forcing my ear to fit their design. Phone call audio is very clear on both ends of the conversation. There are 3 microphones that work together, of which two are standard and one is bone conduction. The app has built-in presets to adjust the audio output for music, movies, speech, etc. The sound is great with Dolby Audio and really good bass, which normally isn’t found in open-ear designs. There’s even a “private” setting to minimize the possibility of some really close to you overhearing, which is great if you wear them to bed and don’t sleep alone! The buds fast charge in 5 minutes for up to 2 hours of playback and last up to 10 hours with the case providing up to 30 hours of reserve power. Shokz once again brings innovation to the industry with interchangeable earbuds. There is no right or left bud…or specific position in the case of the right or left bud. They’re interchangeable and automatically detect which ear they are on. Each bud had multi-control activations either by pinching them or tapping them, and they can be used one at a time, have MultiPoint Pairing, and have the latest Bluetooth codec for a stable connection. Add to the feature set the wireless charging option and IP57 water resistance, and you have a go-anywhere (not for swimming*) and forget-you-are-wearing-them quality product. For added security, they integrate with Google’s “Find Me” device app, AND the Shokz app has a “Find Me” feature that will play a tone in either or both earbuds if misplaced. There’s also a “Drop Alert” in beta that will detect and play a sound if you drop an earbud or it falls off. There are also 3 connection preferences in the app that prioritize the audio connection to be highly stable if you constantly move around where there are a lot of wireless signals, low latency for videos, and a standard mode.

One thing I do not like about typical ear buds is the pressure it places inside the ear, often starts making my ear sweat and the next thing you know, it’s not holding tight or causing pain. These OpenDots 2 on the other hand, sit outside the ear and are surprisingly stable and loud. They clip over the ear, but yet don’t have a lot of pressure on them, so they are comfortable for long periods of use. They don’t go inside the ear, so it leaves breathing room and avoids the issues I have with regular ear buds. They are surprisingly secure for the little amount of pressure as well. These supposedly have two 11.8mm drivers in each bud and by how loud they get, they certainly sound bigger. The sound really relies on positioning in your ear, so it might take some maneuvering to find the best spot for you. But, once you find that sweet spot, these pack a punch. You don’t have to worry which one goes in which ear, as they auto sense when you put them on. They can also sense when you take them off, so they can pause the audio. Having them sense which ear is also nice if you just want to use one at a time and like it always to be on one side. Play time is listed as about 10 hours on a single charge, then the case can charge them fully 3 more times with a 15 minute charge giving 2 of use. However, if you do use them 1 at a time, that becomes an endless loop of use, till the case runs out at least. The case can be charged with USB-C or wireless as well. Call quality is pretty nice on them as well. They show there are 3 microphones on each bud, one being a bone conducting microphone so it can help with noise reduction. With that, the calls were clear. The only thing I did notice is that there is a bit of a latency when watching videos, whether I was using my phone or my PC. For straight audio they were nice, crisp and loud, but I could easily notice the milliseconds of delay with video as they don’t appear to use any of the lower latency codecs. Overall, these are a nice alternative for in-ear or on ear headphones. Kind of like a middle ground for both styles, giving you the small form factor, but not shoving something into your ear. They really put out the volume for something so tiny.

I got the Shokz OpenDots 2 primarily for running, but I’ve found that I’m using them all the time now. I’ve always had an anxiety about wearing headphones and earbuds around others and even the best transparency modes still leave me feeling isolated or worrying I wouldn’t hear someone talking to me, but with the OpenDots 2 I can wear them all day long and my ears are completely unobstructed. Open design headphones do often come at the cost of sound quality and while the OpenDots 2 are not going to match the best in-ear solutions, I was very impressed with the sound they delivered. The package for the OpenDots 2 is pretty simple. You get the buds inside of the charging case with a short USB-C to USB-C charging cable. There’s no interchangeable eartips or wings here.The charging case is compact and easily slides into the small jeans pocket where I normally keep my earbuds. The buds themselves are identical. I was nervous about mixing them up at first since they did not have any left-right markings at all on them, but I came to find out they are identical and self-detect left-right, which is great. The buds are made of a combination of soft rubber and plastic and clip around the bottom portion of your ears, with the driver unit sitting just about the ear canal and the control/battery unit resting against the back of your ears. They were a little awkward to put on at first due to their unique form factor, but once I got the initial fit figured out they were very easy to put on and take off. The setup and pairing process was pretty straightforward. The Shokz app has a nice simple interface that allows for EQ adjustments and changes to the control functions. There was a firmware update available for my units and that took just a few minutes to complete. In terms of comfort and fit, the OpenDots 2’s sit in my ears very securely. I can run, jump, bend down, etc. and they do not move. With that secure fit they remain comfortable and I’ve been wearing them nearly all day when I’m working and they only gave my ears a little bit of fatigue after several hours. The sound quality is where a lot of open earbuds have fallen short in the past and with the Dolby Audio turned off the sound was about what I expected, which is clear but somewhat flat and distant. With the Dolby Audio turned on though the OpenDots 2 really comes to life. The sound is a lot livelier and there’s even a nice amount of bass representation. The overall sound quality is still better on my in-ear buds, but these come remarkably close to matching it. Noise isolation is non-existent, but that is of course the point of these. In all but the noisiest environments the sound comes through loud and clear. There aren’t any special Bluetooth audio codecs included with the OpenDots 2, but I don’t think they’d be doing much for them anyway. The OpenDots 2 are controlled by pinches and taps. The pinch controls are excellent and never miss for me. It reminds of the stem controls on AirPods and it’s executed just as well. The taps are a little more hit and miss for me. Sometimes I had trouble getting it to register my taps, but I’d rather have that problem than having the tap controls trigger accidentally. There isn’t anything the tap controls can do that the pinch controls can’t, so I’m happy to just stick with the pinch. The battery life is listed at 10 hours for the buds and 40 hours with the charging case and so far that seems to be holding up for me. I lost about 20-25% battery in about 3 hours of on and off listening and the case charges them back up very quickly. I’ve made a few calls on the OpenDots 2 and call quality is not the greatest, but still good. My voice is clear and background noise is filtered out well, but it sounds a little robotic and sometimes clips like the gain is turned up too high on the mics. It’s certainly good enough to take the occasional call, but might not be the best choice if calls are a big part of your day. For running and exercise, you get IP57 dust/water resistance, which is a step above other earbuds that often only have water resistance. Overall, I’m really happy with the OpenDots 2. They’re a great everyday pair of headphones for someone who still needs to be present in their environment but still wants good sound.
