Let me be upfront — I went into testing the Shokz OpenFit Pro with low expectations. Open-ear earbuds and bass have historically been a contradiction in terms. But after a few weeks with these, I'm genuinely recommending them to anyone who'll listen. Sound Quality Here's the thing that'll surprise you most: the bass is real. Not "pretty good for open-ear" real — actually real. Shokz has engineered something clever with the directional audio on these, and low-end frequencies come through with punch and warmth that felt impossible from a design that doesn't seal against your ear. Mids are clear, highs are crisp, and the overall soundstage feels airy and natural rather than cramped. Comfort & Fit The hook-style design sits securely over your ear without any in-ear pressure — a total game changer if you've ever ended a long run with aching ear canals. They stayed put through workouts without a second thought, and after hours of wear, I genuinely forgot they were there. Battery Life You're looking at around 7–8 hours of playback, with the case bumping that to roughly 28 hours total. More than enough for multi-day trips without hunting for an outlet. The Trade-offs Honesty check: because they're open-ear, sound leaks at higher volumes — not ideal in quiet office environments. And if you're craving the noise-isolating, bass-cave experience of premium sealed earbuds, these won't fully replicate that. The Verdict The Shokz OpenFit Pro are perfect for runners, cyclists, commuters, or anyone who wants situational awareness without sacrificing sound quality. If you've dismissed open-ear buds before because of weak audio — try these. They changed my mind.

I wear hearing aids, so normal earbuds are basically a non-starter for me. Anything in-ear means I have to take my hearing aids out, which is a huge hassle, and it also means carrying two cases everywhere (one for the hearing aids, one for the earbuds). Stuff like Samsung Buds are just automatically out. The OpenFit Pro solved that instantly. Since they’re open-ear, I can wear them with my hearing aids still in. No swapping devices, no juggling cases, no awkward fit, no pain. They just sit on my ears comfortably and work. That alone would’ve made me happy. But what really blew me away is the noise reduction. I genuinely thought “noise cancellation in public” was something I just wasn’t going to get anymore. It’s not total silence, but it cuts down the background noise enough that everything feels calmer and easier to deal with, and I noticed it immediately. And the sound quality is honestly fantastic. Clear, punchy, and I’m hearing details in music again that I didn’t even realize I’d been missing. If you wear hearing aids and you’ve basically accepted that earbuds just aren’t for you, get these. I’m genuinely excited about them, and that almost never happens with tech.

The ANC is absolutely fantastic for the form factor. The battery life is better than that of other Shokz products (OpenRun specifically). The sound quality is pretty good, but this isn't an earbud designed for the best sound, so keep that in mind. The build quality is also top notch.

After trying 8 different open-ear buds from Jlab, Soundcore, Sony, and Shokz, the OpenFit Pro by Shokz is the winner. The OpenFit 2+ used to be my favorite, but with massive upgrades to bass quality and levels, better connectivity and features with lower latency Bluetooth 6.1, upgrade from Dolby spatial audio to Atmos, smart wear detection, and somehow noise reduction, the Pro easily shot itself into the new flagship of open-ear. While the open style of buds tends to fall short in audio quality compared to high-end in-ear buds, these actually compete with my previous favorites, the Sony WF-1000XM6. They are not just the best open-ear buds, they're incredible buds in general

I have airpod pros and these are way better, i dont like my ears fully plugged, my ears sweat and the airpods fallout. These sit around ear and dont go in yr ear. They sound unreal. Go in the store and try them on at the display you will be amazed. Love these.

I’ve been using the Trekz OpenFit Pro for a while now, and they’ve quickly become my favorite everyday headphones. The open-ear design is a game changer. Instead of blocking out the world, they sit comfortably around your ears and let you stay aware of your surroundings while still delivering surprisingly rich sound. Whether I’m walking outside, working, or taking calls, it feels natural and safe because I can still hear what’s going on around me. The comfort level is outstanding. They’re incredibly lightweight and the flexible ear hooks keep them secure without any pressure. I can wear them for hours and honestly forget they’re even there. That’s something I’ve never been able to say about traditional earbuds. Sound quality is impressive for open-ear headphones. The bass is fuller than expected, the mids are clear, and vocals come through crisp and balanced. They obviously won’t isolate sound like in-ear buds, but that’s not the point—the clarity and openness make them perfect for everyday listening. Battery life is another strong point. I can go through most of the day without worrying about charging, and the case makes it easy to top them up quickly when needed. Overall, the Trekz OpenFit Pro strikes an excellent balance between comfort, awareness, and sound quality. If you want headphones that feel natural, stay comfortable all day, and still deliver great audio, these are absolutely worth it.

I've had numerous Shokz open ear headphones, and these are by far in another level when it comes to sound quality. They sound 80-90% as good as a pair of big-name over-the ear headphones and that's saying a lot. The bass is like it's never been before, and at the same time, your surroundings can be heard. I love the Dolby Atmos feature. The noise reduction feature is like nothing you've ever experienced before. These are worth every penny!! I used the Shokz app to adjust some of the settings and I will say that is a MUST. Make sure you download the app and adjust them to your liking.

These are a great set of open ear headphones. The sound quality is excellent, the noise reduction is absolutely amazing..I love the multipoint pairing feature as well as the customizable equalizer settings. The only flaw for me is the comfort (EAR FATIGUE). I cant wear these very long without feeling dull pain from the pressure points caused by this device. I usually wear them no longer than 30 minutes before having to remove them due to the ear fatigue. Other than that these are some of the best open ear headphones I've ever owned!

The Shokz OpenFit Pro has been an excellent purchase for me. I originally had another open-ear brand in mind, but after remembering a YouTube review and trying the display unit in the store, I decided to give these a chance. I was especially skeptical about how well open-ear earbuds could deliver noise canceling and bass, but they exceeded my expectations. I’ve used them on a flight, in a crowded room, while producing live streams, and even while working in the yard, and they have performed extremely well in every setting. For someone like me who finds in-ear buds uncomfortable after about 30 minutes, these are a real breakthrough. The sound quality, comfort, and convenience make them a complete game-changer for both production work and everyday use.

Great sound quality and plenty of bass. EQ adjustment makes it even better! Very comfortable to wear. I can wear them all day and barely notice them. Battery life is good. Active noise cancelation is okay. I'd say it currently reduces noise about 50% give or take. Hopefully some firmware updates would make that feature work even better, but not expecting much since it is open air conduction. If I need noise cancelation, I'll use my samsung ear buds. Forget bone conduction. Sound is not good with that. Although there is some obstruction to my ears for hearing, I can still hear my surroundings with no issue. Best ear buds I've ever owned.

I've always worn only in-ear headphones before. But these headphones have completely changed my mind. The sound quality is great, the bass, the midrange. Noise reduction works perfectly, I can hear music on the plane and in the subway.

I’ve been using the Shokz OpenFit Pro for a bit now, and they’ve. The open-ear design lets me stay aware of my surroundings while still enjoying clear, balanced audio. They’re lightweight, and I can wear them for hours without discomfort. The sound quality is decent for this style, with good bass and vocals. Battery life holds up well and charges quickly. They’re good for everyday use when I don’t want to feel completely cut off.

If open earbud headphones needed an ambassador the Shokz OpenFit Pro would be a great choice. They sound great with excellent detail, balance, and a wide soundstage. Bass is light but musical, more akin to a reference speaker in that you’re going to hear it more than feel it. If you need something that’ll vibrate your ears and offer a strong kick, these honestly aren’t it. But if sound quality is your thing, you’re going to like these. I actually like my bass a little heavy and love these because there’s just enough oomph to satisfy me while enjoying some major benefits of the open earbud design. It’s an area where most open earbud style headphones struggle because the speaker essentially hangs in front of your ear and uses bone conduction tech to transmit sound vs sitting directly in your ear canal. It’s my first experience with this style, but I can immediately hear and feel the advantages. As far as practicality goes, these might be the best “earbuds” I’ve ever tested. The loop comfortably wraps around my ear and confidently keeps the earbud in place. I can actually sprint and shoot ball without worrying about them falling out. And while they’re not as low profile as an in-ear bud, they're stylish and noticeable so I don’t seem like I’m talking to myself when I’m on a call in public. Another big advantage is that since they don’t go in your ear canal, there’s no issues with sweat and irritation which seems to frequently happen with in-ear earbuds. This is huge to me, because working out with earbuds frequently irritates my ears no matter how often I clean them or headphones. The open style makes my ears feel like they can breathe which lends to another great advantage: I can confidently wear both sides while on my neighborhood walks and runs. With other headphones I only wear one side when I’m out and about because I like to be aware of my surroundings. It’s been a workable compromise, but as a music lover I’m so happy to now do my walks in stereo. And despite hyping up the “openness” of open earbuds, the Active Noise Cancelling works well in some regards. It’s an open ear headphone design so there’s significant noise reduction limitations and it won’t totally silence your surroundings, but the ANC does magically reduce some of the noise. Overall, the sound quality is great, the loop and open ear design makes them super practical, and the long battery life assures they’re ready to go. If you care about sound quality and earbuds that’ll confidently stay in place, you’ll love the Shokz OpenFit Pro. SOUND Excellent detail and tonality. Highs are smooth at the top end, vocals sound natural and the bass is musical. Bass performance is generally the biggest challenge for open earbud headphones so it’s impressive what Shokz is able to accomplish here. The bassline in “Hard Knock Life” by Jay-Z comes with just enough kick to respect its presence while staying musical. Same with the bassline in “You’re Makin’ Me High” by Toni Braxton. However, it struggles with the deep notes in Ludacris’s “Blueberry Yum Yum” where the bass is so faint that it lacks presence. At least they don’t overextend and get muddy so they still sound clean - kind of like having a low pass crossover. The sound experience reminds me of a reference speaker and they might as well be with how good the general balance and details are. The open style lends to a wide soundstage that feels and sounds more “free” than any in-ear headphone I’ve tested. It’s more like I’m at a concert hall than sitting between two speakers, which is exceptional. According to Shokz, these were also designed with Dolby Atmos in mind. This would explain why this might be the first time I actually don’t mind leaving Atmos on for music. I usually avoid it because with most headphones the sound becomes overly synthesized, but it actually sounds good here. Turning it off still sounds great and almost “fuller”, but with the Atmos on there’s a certain subtle ambiance that I enjoy. For fine tuning there’s a user adjustable 10 band EQ available in the Shokz app. There you can also adjust the ANC noise pass through, switch between Music or Movies Dolby Audio mode, and customize your controls. Call quality is excellent. DAY TO DAY Comes with a relatively thin clamshell case that features USB-C and wireless charging. The fit and finish are excellent and there’s a little button on the topside of each earbud for controls. No touch controls with haptics here, we get real buttons! It can be a little hard to find at first but after about a week I can feel it pretty quickly now. What really sets these earbuds apart for me are how practical the ear loop and open earbud design is. They stay securely attached to my ears and the open design allows me to hear my surroundings better which is key for when I’m running around at work, are out and about, or working out. The fact that they rest in front of your ear vs inside your ear canal significantly helps prevent irritation issues too. These have quickly become my go to fitness headphones. PROS - Excellent sound quality - Good detail in mids and highs - Surprisingly musical bass - Open soundstage - Excellent call quality - Comfortable long term - Stays in place well - ANC effective - Open ear design ideal for being out and about - Can confidently wear both earbuds while being active - No ear canal irritation - Long battery life - Wireless charging case - Customizable EQ - Well built CONS - Bass is musical, but not powerful - EQ bass adjustments can sound muddy - Can be difficult to find buttons by touch
