Customer Ratings & Reviews

Without this adapter cable, XM frequently dropped out, had lots of static, and required me to change frequencies frequently. Since I installed this adapter, XM sounds like a brand new service. This should be included with EVERY XM tuner indended for vehicle usage.

works great i did not realize it was fully integrated into receiver very high quality i still needed additional parts but it all works well

I wanted to add SiriusXM to my Indian Chieftain motorcycle, but didn't want to incur the expense of using my phone's data plan and burning through data on multiple week rides. This product allowed me to add SiriusXm and wire it directly into the motorcycle's radio system and broadcast it through the mc's speaker system. After 2 years it been problem free and one of my most rewarding mc additions. One of the key assets is that once its installed you can easily switch out SiriusXM radios.

I have an Acura TL and recently bought a SiriusXM Onyx unit. The built in FM modulator works very poor in the TL with having to constantly change stations. I sprung for the direct adapter to fix the problem. Installation was a breeze, if you know basic radio installation you can install it yourself in under 15 minutes. The adapter does exactly what its supposed to do and eliminates the need to find stations all the time. Sound quality is great with no loss of signal or fidelity. Since the adapter has a port for the regular antenna, one can easily switch between terrestrial radio and satellite without issues. Overall great product at a decent price!

Product works great to connect satellite radio to FM radio, so you don't have to use an FM modulator to find the right station. The FM Direct Adapter works flawless, without any static when driving. As noted in the description, when the adapter is turned off, and you turn to FM/AM stations, they work as normal. Great advice on the part of the Auto Bay Tech to get this part instead of an FM Modulator.

Installed Sirius XM radio on my Goldwing, had nothing but static and regular FM stations overlaying my Sirius music.Installed FM modulator and problem solved.Crystal clear music through Sirius and my auto volume works with it.Very satisfied with this product.

The Sirius Stratus 7 is definitely the low end of the Sirius Radio Lineup and I own one...after reading many different reviews and lamenting the decision to have ever purchased the Stratus 7 Radio, I remembered having installed an XM Commander Radio in a previous vehicle (...back in 2005). There was a Direct Connect kit that allowed you to more efficiently transmit your Satellite Radio signal to your FM Head unit. This FM Direct Adapter is the modern version of the same thing and it is actually improved over the one I installed back in 2005, with an even better and more direct signal! The inline connection via your antenna wire is ingenious and works flawlessly! It drastically decreased the risk of my Stratus 7 Radio being thrown out the window while travelling over a high bridge! Though I still suggest investing in a better Sirius/XM Radio Tuner than the Stratus 7, this accessory VASTLY improved my Satellite Radio listening experience!

I have an older Sirius radio with a LIFETIME subscription. I wanted to hook it up to my vehicle's AM/FM radio. This adapter allowed me to connect it to my radio directly without having to "broadcast" the signal to my radio. The installation was plug-n-play, without cutting any wires. Basically, you just unplug the antenna wire from the back of your radio, plug the antenna wire into the adapter, then plug the adapter into the back of your radio. The remaining wire gets routed to your Sirius radio. This direct connection removes any interference that you will get when you "broadcast" the signal to your vehicle's radio. This was a perfect solution for me. I highly recommend it.

This is an excellent item, and does away with the hassle of having to always find a usable radio station for an XM radio transmitter. It's a simple plug and play device, as long as you have standard antenna connections in your vehicle.

I was getting poor reception using my satellite radio through a fm channel on the radio. I have the satellite antenna on the dashboard. The direction say it must be on the roof and not on the dashboard. The clerk at BestBuy recommenced this product. I plugged it into the antenna spot on the back of my radio and I left the satellite antenna on the dashboard. Problem solved. I am very pleased. Possible minor issues for some, but not for me. I need to turn off the satellite receiver if I want to listen to the other radio stations since it causes interference. Also, a wire runs out of the dashboard to the wireless receiver. I have the docking station on the windshield, so this is just one more wire. My car is old and beat up so this does not bother me.

This is perfect if you want to use a satellite receiver with an older car radio that does not have any kind of audio input connections. I'm using it with the original factory AM/FM radio in a 1977 Oldsmobile. The signal produced is strong, and using this device eliminates the need to periodically adjust the satellite radio's FM transmitter and to correspondingly re-tune the car radio as you move from location to location and encounter interfering local stations. I wish I had this 10 years ago!

I used it on a very basic am/fm radio on my very basic work truck and it took all the static and the reception was very good. Nice too listen to satelite radio like its supposed too

This is the adapter you need if your car stereo does not have any LINE IN connection(s). Whichever FM frequency you choose with your SiriusXM receiver, make sure it is the quietest (static only, no broadcast) you can find. My experience in urban areas, quiet FM frequencies are hard to find. As I start getting closer to the area of the radio station signal, the radio station broadcast can be heard instead of the SiriusXM signal. Overall sound quality is OK going through the FM tuner of your car stereo. The best quality of sound is with the LINE OUT jack from your SiriusXM receiver. Best of luck to all of you doing the install. Overall, I am happy with the product.

Easy to install and a great price. Gives great reception and clear sound. If you are not car audio savvy i would recommend having Best Buy install it.

Before installing this adapter I would always get interference using the FM transmitter. I would frequently have to change stations to try to improve reception. Sometimes even this wouldn't help. After installing the adapter I get no interference at all. Highly recommend this product.

This adaptor made is easy to install the Onyx Plus. The sound quality is great with it! You have to be cautious of the space because you may need an additional antenna adaptor as well depending on your car. I'd add a picture but it's behind the radio when installed so...

I recently installed a Sirius satellite radio in my vehicle using the so called kit that came with the radio,it uses the ground wires in the vehicle for an antenna through the accessory plug in the vehicle, there was static in the radio almost all the time even with it on the stations that Sirius suggested,I installed this adapter between the radio and the antenna and no more static,it works great, they should include this adapter with the car kit the one that comes with the radio is all but useless.Great product.

This is a game changer better than the fm module that come with the device. This gives you clear sound and you able to hide it behind the dash.

This unit made a huge difference to my listening experience. I can set the car to one radio station and leave it there. No matter the radio station strength the SiriusXM always comes in crystal clear.

It works, there are 3 possible options to connect a Sirius XM tuner to a vehicle without built-in SXM. This device converts the SXM signal to an FM signal. When you read the install instructions for the SXM tuner, this is the 3rd option, only to be used if the first 2 options don’t work. Option 1 is an “auxiliary” cord connection, many newer vehicles don’t have an aux jack. 2nd best is Bluetooth, which works well but your phone won’t be able to connect with Bluetooth if you’re using it for SXM. So I used this, it works well. But I’m now using an FM channel not active in my area. When I travel to another area, the FM frequency I’ve chosen to use may be an active channel frequency in another area, so I’ll get interference and need to select another unused local FM frequency. For me that’s ok, if I travel out of my area, I’ll probably be in a different vehicle. If you travel to other areas a lot, you need to know this.
