Q: Can this connect via bluetooth? There is no cable jack with our radio unit.
A: No it cannot but it does have a fm tuner built in..
Q: Does this radio have to be mounted or can it set on the console?
A: It should be mounted, but there are numerous options on how to mount.
Q: Is this a stand alone receiver or do I need a functioning radio?
A: I use mine on my motorcycle and plug the audio cable into my radio aux in plug, the sirius receiver has no speakers so you have to plug it into something for sound
A: Yes, this unit is compatible with the entire Sirius (SiriusXM) system.
A: When my Sirius radio stopped working, I ordered the Stratus 7 and plugged it in to my old box. I went to the Sirius website and activated the Stratus 7 with no problems.
A: Yes, the antenna has to be routed out somewhere. You must change stations thru the radio not the dash. An option is to just activate your radio, get the app and go bluetooth and avoid needing antenna and new device.
Q: Can I listen to regular radio stations if I purchase this. I don’t want Sirius Or free months.
A: Sirius Radios are for Satellite Radio, not standard broadcast radio. There are radios that combine Satellite Radio with a regular AM/FM Broadcast Radio. I would recommend looking for one of those.
Q: Is this kit easy to install? What does it take to install it and can it be done by a non-techy?
A: It's very simple to install. Simply follow the instructions. I didn't even need to have the antenna on the outside to get good reception.
