I own or have owned almost every popular pair of headphones on the market. These are by far my favorite. I’ve pitched them to family and friends and have “sold” a half dozen pairs. The most fun I have are in my group messages: I have friends sending links to songs I should listen to with the headphones and we all rave about how awesome they are. I’ll just list: If you’ve never heard crusher bass, it’s easy to describe but not believable until you actually experience it. I had 12 inch subs in my trunk. Factory-installed car stereos in the 90s were horrible. People replaced them, and some of us in our teenage years went overboard. We shook our cars apart. That is the closest thing I can think of to what this simulates. Maybe going to a crazy arena concert and standing near the front would be similar. The key to the above is that you don’t lose the detail in the song. It’s like you can hear everything even though the whole headphones are shaking. I only really need to leave the base slider at like 15% and it’s insane. The other thing that makes these perfect, in my opinion is that I dislike leather pads because they make my ears hot. These have the cool mesh with the soft gel memory foam underneath. It’s the same stuff that I swap out the leather on my other headphones for. The controls are super simple and intuitive. Pairing is super easy. The battery life is ridiculous. The only thing I wish is that it came in more colors. Otherwise, these are my favorite headphones of all time. The only weakness is that my AirPods Max are way better integrated with all my Apple stuff. When I want to watch Apple TV at night, I can just pop on my AirPods max and press one button and all the audio is there. As soon as I put them on, it’s connected to the phone that’s in my hand. If they could integrate these into the Apple ecosystem like Apple original which I know is impossible and add some colors, I’d buy them all. I love these headphones, in case you can’t tell. For the price, they are one of my favorite pieces of Tech of all time. Not joking

Amazing sound quality and very sturdy. The audio is rich, deep, and immersive, and the headphones feel extremely well-built. Comfortable to wear and clearly made to last. I’m very impressed and would absolutely recommend.

Truly, these headphones blew my mind. No pun intended. These headphones are so loud and the haptic bass is my favorite feature of any headphone ever. Sound quality is clean. Talking on the phone is no issue. Perfect for the gym. Battery life is excellent. Can last a week plus on a single charge. 10/10 would recommend

The "Crusher" slider is no joke. At 20-30%, the bass is deep and punchy. At 100%, your entire head vibrates like you’re standing in front of a stadium speaker.

I wish it louder, but it definitely has plenty of base. I use it for the gym but i can hear everything. The little sliding knob is for base, but i thought it was for volume and I was immediately corrected.

It’s a pretty decent headphone and the bass on the headphones is phenomenal, however the small stitching on the inside came close a little but still holds up well. While trendy upon gym culture and music culture, it usually breaks easily. But I like mine and got it for a decent price.

THIS… IS the Skullcandy CRUSHER 540 Active and truly one of the first headphones that I have worn that does something different, something unique to itself and does it REALLY well. Skullcandy has put what it calls ‘multi-sensory bass technology’ into the Crusher 540’s, which is actually a pair of rather powerful haptic motors in lieu of active noise cancelling. Lets open this box and see if haptic bass is a gimmick or worth the tradeoff for ANC. Opening the box, you are greeted with the Crusher 540’s, an aux cable, charging cable and cloth bag for the headphones. On the first feel, the Crusher 540’s have a nice plastic finish and a pretty lightweight build. This product is built for sweating/training, so I want you to keep that in mind as this isn’t an ‘ultra luxury’ headphone as it is meant to get dropped, sweaty and just plain dirty. Plopping the Crusher on my head, I actually really like the snug they give. I am also able to do a bench day without worrying about the crushers falling off my head, which is my biggest gripe with almost every other pair of headphones. My only real meh parts about the build are the buttons, they are easy to find and click but it isn't something that just comes naturally with it… but not so bad I am going to say never. Moving on, the ear cuffs are comfortable and there is a nice squishy rubber liner at the top of the head strap… but they do get somewhat warm and the ear cups do allow most noise to pass through. This is kind of a bummer as these headphones don’t have any Active Noise Cancelling so… I will probably be buying some replacement cups in the near future. I don’t find this to really be a deal breaker though as I tend to be a bit of a diva when it comes to headphone cups.. But I digress. I really do enjoy the build quality and color for the gym and the price point. Battery life is also great, Skullcandy claims 40 hours on battery and a ‘Rapid charge’ of 10 minutes via usb-c giving you 4 hours of playtime. Now the important part, the Crusher 540’s magic, or as Skullcandy calls it, ‘multi-sensory bass technology’ lies in two haptic motors that can change in intensity depending on how you move a slider located on the side of the left side of the headphones. I found that I preferred the slider at different points for different moods, but always trended on the 75-100%. That being said, the first time you wear the Crusher 540’s, expect the bass to make your ears tickle. Outside of the obviously fantastic bass, these headphones sound good! They aren’t anything too crazy, but for $200 I would say they punch above their weight. I will say though, some genres such as EDM, metal, rock and your really bass heavy music is nearing that 9/10 quality while anything that requires crisp highs and lows trends in the 7 or 8/10 such as rap and some pop/punk. I think that Active Noise Cancellation would really help out here as I don’t find the cuffs filtering out too much erroneous noise from the outside world. Something to note, Movies go CRAZY and the bass doesn’t really overcast audio or vocals. I started with Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince as I knew this would really test the multimedia capabilities of the Crusher 540’s and MY OH MY are these not some of the best headphones I have ever tried on for entertainment and the haptic bass gives it that Imax feel. That being said, there is no adjustable EQ on the Crusher 540’s Skullcandy app, however, there are modes for music, movies and a podcast mode as well as a setting that ‘custom tailors’ the sound to your ears. I did find music and entertainment somewhat more crisp after setting the custom tuning. That is also about all that the app offers, so for me it was more of a one and done type scenario after I initially adjusted everything. Wrapping this up, these headphones are fantastic. I think that I would easily spend $50 more and get active noise cancelling, however, I wonder if the haptic system makes it challenging to introduce ANC in a very rogue environment. It is really hard to find many faults with the Crusher 540’s outside of the features that also make it more durable. I find that you either like the haptic speakers or you are probably not the target audience… and while I found it to really be a unique selling point. I think that the haptic feedback is something you should really try before you buy or take advantage of Best Buy's fantastic return policy so you aren’t stuck with the wrong headphones. I really loved my pair of Crusher 540 Actives, they were my go to headphones, no complaints all compliments for a while. I loved the sound and bass it was really good for the price. All my friends ranted and raved about their EVOs and ANCs and especially the 540s. I bought these headphones back in July ‘25 and after a routine workout a day ago they fell off my head while doing a dead hang (about 6 feet off the ground, not a very high bar) and broke just above the Skullcandy logo above the right earcup. The floor was a cushioned rubber gym floor, not concrete or hardwood either. They are beyond repair as not only was the band broken but the adjustable piece of it. To say I’m dissapointed is an understatement considering I’ve none other thats have had there Skullcandy headphones for 3 YEARS and treat them way worse than I had. My pair didn’t even last 9 months after being babied… If you want something that will be at least a little bit durable, look somewhere else cause these aren’t it. If you’re sitting a desk all day or occasionally use a pair of over ear headphones, your probably looking at the EVOs anyway if your still shopling Skullcandy unless you dislike the leather earcups. TLDR: Sound good, bass great, durability is horrible, not good gym headphones for the durability alone.

I’ve reviewed lots of headphones and earbuds over the years and I think these are some of the best sounding. Whether you’re using them Bluetooth or wired. Note that they are not Active Noise Canceling. The Active part of that name is for Activities, like workouts and such. Please see product description for details. They cupped my ears well enough to keep things quiet when playing music. But not like active noise cancelling will. They won’t block out running a shop vac and that sort of thing like my Yamaha and Sony ANC headphones will. It was easy to pair with Galaxy S23 Ultra, 9th gen iPad and an Asus S14 Zenbook. Hold power button until it says “pairing” and scan for them on your device. You can use the app too. I like this feature about them: “Crusher 540 Active packs up to 40 hours of battery life – so you can go days or weeks between charging. And if you find yourself in a pinch for power, the Rapid Charge feature provides 4 hours of playtime with a quick 10-minute charge.” Fit and Feel: I like how the shape fits over my ears. Better than how round ones do. Not easy to tell which is right and which is left. It’s marked in headband above the ear cups, but very hard to see. You can get them tight enough to stay on your head when active and not get sore ears from it. Very comfortable to wear for long periods. Phone calls: I was very pleased with how calls sound with these. I had my wife call me and she sounded very clear and intelligible on my end, which not surprising considering your ears are covered. She said I sounded loud and clear on her end using Shokz Open Run Pro BT headset. The only exception was when I was in the stairwell and bathroom which sounded like I was in a big pipe. Swapped phones and headphones with my wife to see how the mic(s) sounded. I was not disappointed in what I heard. Loud and clear. However, when I went back to the bathroom and stairwell, she didn’t notice the echos at all with me using the Shokz. Audio Quality: I went back to the Samsung music app, set its EQ to a flat response, went back to Skullcandy app and made sure it was set to Music preset EQ. Skullcandy only gives you 3 EQ presets. Music, Podcast and Movie. They need to add a couple of custom settings with at least a 7 band graphic EQ. Personal Sound is a basic hearing test designed to boost the frequencies that you don’t hear as well as others. I tried it with Bluetooth and wired and got the same results. As expected, I could tell a difference, mostly in my left ear. Was it night and day? No, but a noticeable difference that put some high end back in my left ear. At 60 my hearing isn’t as good as it used to be, but still much better than average for a person my age. That’s because I have used earplugs when doing anything that generates loud noise since the early 90s, and when needed playing music in bands. Then I went back to the Samsung music app and played around with its graphic EQ again for a little extra tweaking and I got an EQ setting I really liked. Then it was time to try them on the SiriusXM app, with its audio quality set at the highest level. I was impressed. It was almost on par with my FLAC files. I compared the Skullcandy headphones to the Yamaha YH-E700A, Sony WH-CH720N, and 33 year old Fostex T-20s. All three sounded pretty similar, but I think the Crusher 540s edged the other two out in overall audio quality. Especially for nice tight, deep, bass. I listened to artists like Steely Dan, Alan Parsons, Pink Floyd and similar music to test them. Also, classic and 80s-90s country, as well classic rock from the 60s to the early 80s. Sorry, no rap, metal or recent over processed music. But, I’m sure it will sound good in them too. Note, that the Bass can be overwhelming at higher settings depending on what you’re listening to. It was to me on anything but minimal to low mid settings. But it’s deep and clean bass! The high end is very clean and clear too. They do not sound harsh. The wired feature is nice so it can also be used with equipment that has quarter or eighth inch phone jacks. You will need an adapter to use them with equipment that uses quarter inch jacks. Warranty is one (1) year from date of purchase. However, if out of warranty, they fail, or something breaks on them whether under normal use or not, or you accidentally break them, Skullcandy does Not offer repair. Only repair or exchange while Under Warranty. I checked with them via chat. See their reply below. “I'm sorry to hear about your product issue! Unfortunately, Skullcandy does not offer repair services for products that are out of warranty. Additionally, replacement parts are not available. If your product is still under warranty, you can submit a warranty claim for further assistance. For more details, you can visit the Skullcandy support page.” I didn’t break my review headphones, but a few years ago I reviewed some Yamaha YH-E700A headphones. About a year ago I went to use them, and a small plastic piece had that holds the cups to the headband had broken in half and the cup was dangled by the wire. The matching plastic piece on the other side was cracked and it’s a matter of time before it breaks. I searched through Yamaha’s support online, and they have the same policy on a lot of their consumer electronics. So, keep this in mind when buying anything anymore. Getting an extended warranty probably isn’t a bad idea in some cases. Oh, well.... Conclusion: Recommended. I think they are a pretty good bang for the buck. The only improvement I can think of is adding a custom user graphic EQ to the app.

After using the Skullcandy Crusher 540 Active for a few weeks, I can say for sure that these headphones make bass-heavy, gym-ready sound without sacrificing comfort or durability. The Crusher 540 Active feels strong but light, weighing only 312 grams when you take it out of the package. Included are the headphones, a USB-C charging cable, a backup AUX cable, and a user guide. The matte finish and good build quality caught my eye right away. These workout headphones can take a lot of abuse, which is great. The fold-flat form makes it much easier to carry. Some over-ear headphones are too big to fit in a gym bag, but these fold up small enough to fit. With its utilitarian design, Skullcandy thought about how consumers would use their gear.The noticeable difference between this model and previous ones is that it can be used actively. The PU leather makes the headband sweat proof and easy to clean, which is a major step forward from the Crusher Evo's cloth headband. It may not seem like much, but cleaning your headphones after a sweaty gym session makes them cleaner. The ear cushions are made of breathable fabric instead of leather like other Crusher versions. This change fixes one of the most common problems with over-ear headphones during intense workouts: they make you feel hot and sticky. The breathable fabric makes it more comfortable and lets air flow better with time. The nano-coating that keeps water and sweat out is another smart touch. These have been through a lot of hard aerobic workouts without breaking or losing performance. Skullcandy's 540 Active headphones use "clamp force" technology to hold your head better than regular headphones. I was worried about long sessions, but the padded headband spreads out the pressure. These don't move around while you're jogging, unlike the Crusher Evos. The stronger clamping force is perfect for active use no more having to fix headphones that slip while you work out. When you work out, traditional over-ear designs might get sweaty and uncomfortable, but the ventilated ear cushions stop that from happening. The best part is Skullcandy's Crusher bass technology. The bass slider on the left ear cup lets you change the low-end to your taste, which is what Crusher headphones are known for. Not only deeper bass, but bass you can feel that goes well with high-energy workout music. The two bass drivers and 40mm drivers make sound that is good beyond bass. These headphones play music with a lot of bass that will get you pumped up for tough workouts, but they aren't audiophile quality. These don't cancel out sounds; they just block it out. This is fantastic for exercise headphones because you want to be aware of your surroundings when you run outside or at the gym. At 50 to 75 percent volume, passive isolation and music block sound quite well. The battery life of 40 hours is amazing, After using them for a while, I've charged them a few times. It's helpful that it charges quickly. You can charge them in the car on the way to the gym for 10 minutes and get 4 hours of playback. The auto-connect feature of Bluetooth 5.0 works great. The built-in controls are easy to use while working out. Tile finding technology is great for folks who lose things. The Skullcandy app makes the experience better. Audiodo's Personal Sound feature makes sound clearer and more detailed by using a hearing test to create a sound profile. You can change the button controls and pick between music, podcast, or movie EQ modes. The software is well-made and useful without being hard to use, which is great when you're working out instead of changing settings. These headphones work well after being tested in a variety of exercise situations for a while. I've used these for hard cardio, weight training, and running outside in humid conditions, and they've held up. Ear cushions that let air through make long, sweaty workouts more comfortable. The snug fit means you won't have to adjust your headphones in the middle of a workout, and the bass response that makes you feel good helps you get through tough workouts. They roll up flat for gym bags and are strong enough to use every day. The Crusher 540 Active is a wonderful deal on bass-heavy headphones that are good for working out. These fix the main problems with older Crusher models while keeping what made them popular. Longer battery life (40 hours) Real resistance to sweat and water Long workouts are more comfortable with this airy design. Signature Crusher bass with levels that can be changed - Fits snugly while activity and folds flat for easy storage The integration of the Personal Sound app is good. Cons: No active noise cancellation (although it's good for safety while working out). The bass-heavy sound might not be right for everyone. The increased clamping force might feel tight at first. The Crusher 540 Active is great for people who love bass-heavy music and require headphones that are ready for a workout. They are meant for active use and offer you the Crusher feeling that made this series so popular. Finally, there is a version of Crusher headphones that is suited for working out for people who want to go to the gym or exercise outside.

The Crusher 540 active headphones are perfect for people with an active lifestyle, with a lightweight design and sweat/water resistant build these cans were built for people on the on. Good -The build of the Crusher 540 is excellent, the band is sturdy and the secure fit doesn’t put excessive force on your ears while making sure the headphones stay snug. -Bluetooth connection in office building was over 450+ feet with no loss of connection. One of the things the Crusher 540 active do different than other headphones is even when you go out of range the headphones don’t turn off so once you come back you just have to click the play button and they auto connect instantly. -Battery life so far has been great, I usually get 10-20 percent battery use for 8 hour day. -Switching connections between devices is really good also, when going from work/gym to my car the headphones would automatically switch to the car. Once I got home and left the car the music would switch back over to the Crusher 540. -The App for the Crusher 540 is wonderful, but a bit slow to connect. The app offers a ton of customization and even allows you to easily switch between listening modes as music/movie/podcast. You can customize your hearing experience with personalized sound that runs you through a hearing test. A great added feature is the Tile find my which is built in to make sure you never lose your headphones. -The sound quality is excellent, you will hear crisp highs and mids. I was able to hear subtle instruments in songs which I didn’t notice previously. When it comes to bass/lows the Crusher 540 were made for this, the slider tab allows you to increase the bass to your heart content. What’s great about the bass slider is that the bass still sounds good even when maxed out, it doesn’t sound exaggerated and makes you feel as if that is how it was intended to sound. -The breathability of the Crusher 540 is excellent, when using them during a workout I didn’t get an “swamp ear” and nor was did my head hurt from the band of the ear cups even during over 8 hours of use. The -Buttons on the headphones work great, they are made nice and sturdy and have a solid click to them. Same with the bass slider , it works without any issue and has a nice resistance to it. The Bad -The app is slow to connect. Every time with the headphones automatically connecting when turned on the app would take at least 20 seconds to realize they were connected. -The headphones don’t have multi-device connectivity at the same time, this isn’t a deal breaker but it is something that’s a nice to have. -When you start listening to anything there is a bit of a “click” that happens in the headphones. -These are not good for taking phone calls, very little to no sound isolation so the person will hear anything and everything around you. The headphones are as the name implies crushers/active, they do a great job with bass and music and are built for people on the go. They do not fall off and don’t cause discomfort or swamp ear no matter how long you wear them. I wouldn’t say these are one size fits all as you can’t take phone calls on them but besides that they are wonderful.

TL;DR: SETUP: It’s very easy to pair. Open your Bluetooth settings, press the rectangular button on the Crusher’s, and it connects in a couple of seconds. There is an audible female voice that prompts you as well. USE: It’s comfortable and stays put. USABILITY: They work great, last a long time and have excellent sound - especially if you enjoy bass. OVERALL: They sound really good. I like bass, and these are amazing. They also have physical buttons, as well as work with voice assistants (like Siri and Alexa). They don’t have ANC, which would be an issue if you want them for noise cancellation. REVIEW: I typically use in-ear buds and have been very happy with them. It’s been a while since I tried over-the-ear headphones, which never really fit well for me. They either slipped, were uncomfortable, or were cumbersome. I got the Skullcandy Crusher 540 Active and am highly impressed. I like situational awareness, so for my current needs, ANC isn’t needed. I’m not traveling much lately, but when I travel by air, I’ll use one of my ANC earbuds, as I like to travel minimally -although these fold to a compact size. These are great. I paired them to my phone within seconds. Almost instantly, I was listening to Dolby Atmos-based music…then clips of movies…and then it was well over an hour, and I realized I was almost late to an event I had to attend. That said, these are great. You can tune the sound via the app to your individual ears through the preset equalizer (that surprisingly works really well - things like these never really do, but this does) and a “Personal Sound” feature that “optimizes audio levels to your unique hearing.” That feature works great, too. It’s less noticeable, but you can hear the fine tuning if you listen for it. The “Patented Crusher Bass” is awesome, too. 
They are still new, and I haven’t taken them to the gym or on outdoor hikes/bike rides. I might take them to the gym, but for me personally, I don’t think I would wear them where I would lose my situational awareness. In my opinion, home, the gym, and something relatively sedate are perfect for over-the-ear headphones. These are quickly becoming a favorite gadget of mine. They’re comfortable, they don’t slip, they sound great, and they last long on a charge.

The Skullcandy Crusher 540 Active XT wireless headphones are a good pair of headphones that are comfortable for long workout sessions, durable, and attractive to look at. But I think they're really only suitable for certain styles of music and for listeners who love a lot of sub-bass frequencies. I personally find them to be a 3/5, but my teenager calls them a 4/5. Pros: • Great looks, with understated one-color styling and tasteful, minimal gloss-on-matte badging on the sides of the bands • Easy to fold up and come with a high-quality carrying bag • Fit and finish are great, with quality buttons that are clicky and useful • Comfortable on many sizes of head, with a good grip that is just firm enough • Battery life is good and long, and they charge up quickly • The Skullcandy app offers preset EQ profiles for music, movies, and podcasts, with the ability to set up custom profiles based on your specific hearing ability • The Crusher Bass slider allows you to turn the bass WAY up if that suits your desires and listening material • Works with Tile app to allow you to find the headphones when they're lost in your house Cons: • For dedicated listening sessions, the best setting for the Crusher Bass is usually at or near zero • Regardless of the bass setting, the sound is noticeably lacking in the lower midrange and without nuance • No graphic EQ in the app to provide manual control of certain frequencies • Only really suitable for some styles of music like hip-hop, dubstep, and techno My experience with the Crusher 540 Active XTs was fine, but not amazing. My teenager had a better experience than I did, mostly because the styles of music they prefer are more suited to the Crusher's strengths. I need a pair of headphones that provides accurate sound reproduction for extended daily listening to a wide variety of rock, pop, soul, and electronic music. My teen needs a good set of headphones to listen to dubstep and other beat-driven electronic music. What I want is nuance, and what they want is powerful bass and strident upper mids. The Crusher 540 Active XT does a much better job of meeting their needs. I will say, these headphones fit great on a wide variety of heads, from my large 7 3/8ths cranium to my teen's slim cabeza. The offer firm grip on the sides of my head but not too much pressure. They also look quite nice. The big feature here is "Crusher Bass" which boosts deep bass frequencies and provides some extra haptics that enhance the feeling of getting your head rattled by booming low end. This feature works best for loud music with thumping sub-bass, and sounded great to me during "Bike" by Tanger and "Kiara" by Bonobo. The Crusher Bass is much less useful with nuanced rock with well-mixed bass, almost completely eliminating the 150-170 Hz range of the bass in songs like "Something" by the Beatles, "Theft, and Wandering Around Lost" by Cocteau Twins, and "Shame" by The Smashing Pumpkins. The Skullcandy app adds some customization to the experience, allowing you to choose between three preset EQ profiles called Music, Podcast, and Movies. The app also allows you to set up a Personal Sound profile that is tailored to how well you hear frequencies in each ear. I found the personal profile to add some nice clarity at the top end for my middle-aged ears, but I find it most frustrating that there isn't a simple graphic EQ that I can adjust myself. The Crusher Active headphones also work with the Tile app, which can ring them whenever they're relatively nearby so you can find them in a pile of clothes or under the bed. It works well, and plays a pleasant pinging sound through the speakers (which is audible even when the headphones are under the aforementioned clothes pile) to help you search. That's a very good thing if you're the kind of person who forgets where they put things and wants to allow Tile to constantly track your location. Less so if you can develop a routine that helps you avoid misplacing your headphones. All-in-all, despite their good looks, sturdy build quality, and bonus functionality, I would recommend these headphones only to someone who wants to listen to driving hip-hop or electronic music and values the ability to crank up a huge amount of sub-bass frequencies to take their workout (or high school study session) to the next level. People seeking a more nuanced, customizable experience should look elsewhere.

First pair of Skullcandy headphones and they're crushing it, the Crusher 540 Active are perfect for my oldest child who needed a first pair of wireless headphones. They fit great on her without being too loose and given they are rugged and meant for working out, they are easy to clean and stand up to the rigors of what a kid gets into daily. One thing to be aware of is that these are not Active Noise Cancelling headphones, they are just Active, for active people. While they are over the ear, this will dampen some outside noise but not all, and there is also not a passthrough mode to allow them to hear outside noise better. So keep that in mind if you are looking for something that does ANC and Passthrough. Otherwise I really enjoy how the controls are large and easy to use, my daughter can control them easily and has already figured everything out. Battery life is also excellent, we haven't had to charge it in nearly a week of use with her iPad and Nintendo Switch, which she can switch between with minimal effort. The only thing I wish is that I got the pink version instead of the black!

As I sit here listening to the Skullcandy Crusher 540 Active over-ear headphones, I am amazed at the phenomenal feel and sound of the bass. Regardless of whether I was listening to Hip-Hop, R&B, rock, or country music, it all sounds amazing. The main feature of these headphones is the adjustable sensory bass experience, which is a haptic vibration that accompanies the bass drops. It is an absolute game-changer for bass lovers. The only way to accurately portray it is to say it feels like being inside a dance club or listening to music in a car with large subwoofers. The mid-tones and highs sound good. I would give them a 7 out of 10 because they could use some tuning for my personal taste. However, the Skullcandy app does provide a hearing adjustment tool similar to a hearing test that identifies what sounds you can hear and three equalizer presets (Music, Movies, Podcasts) that work well and sound good for their respective use types. Another feature is that they are "Active." At first, I thought that meant active noise canceling, but it meant they are for an active lifestyle, meaning they can be used while out and about or working out. This is why it has a soft fabric covering the ear cups instead of a leather-like material. The head clamping force and 180-degree swivel of the headset make it comfortable enough for all-day use, and the batteries, which are rated for 40 hours, are sure to last for weeks of moderate use. Also included with the headphones are a USB-A to USB-C cable, an aux cable, and a carry bag. It would be nice if they came with a hard case, but unfortunately, they don't. However, it still doesn't change the fact that I absolutely love these headphones, and I would absolutely recommend them, especially if you want best-in-class bass.

Overall, these headphones are good. They have very strong bass, and the material seems durable enough to last for a long time. I mainly use these headphones for working out, and they feel comfortable for long periods of time. The battery life is excellent. Even as a forgetful person, I haven't experienced a single time when I ran out of battery. But the lack of noise-cancellation is a major drawback. They are very bad in noisy environments, like on a train. The play/pause button can also be very unresponsive, taking a few seconds to react.
