Great Disposal. I only needed one to take care of any scraps that slip through the sink strainer- particularly when the grandkids are around! This is more than powerful enough to handle my needs. I love that it takes up far less space under my sink too.

The Smart Choice 1.2.hp waste disposer was a surprise to me. This device is very well built and it is slimmer and lighter than my previous food disposer. I really like the white color which I hope stays like that for a long time. This is a 1.2HP @ 2600 RPM motor. The cable is about 3 feet long which works perfect for my application. Installing it took about 20 and that's because I was having issues removing the old one. This is pretty much straight forward, if you install one of these before there is no need to read the instructions which are easy to follow. Once installed it works right out of the box. I do appreciate how quiet it is compared to my old disposer and the slim design won't take as much space. Grinding the food is not an issue, it does the job very well without a hassle. The splash guard is removable which makes it easy to clean. Something I noticed about the splash guard, it was a little stiff at first and the water was draining very slowly making it clogged at the top. After repetitive use and also breaking it in with the hands it solves the problem. Overall this waste disposer does the job very well and the best part at a quiet level. It looks nice, it's easy to install and won’t break your bank. In the box you get the waste disposer, installing kit and instructions.

I purchased a brand new garbage disposal and noticed it was leaking within three weeks of my paying for the appliance and installation. Best Buy send the same technician out who installed the garbage disposal and it was confirmed that it was defective which means it was defective when it was first installed. I contacted Best Buy customer service and they refuse to replace my garbage disposal due to under my sink has been leaking with water from the defective disposal that was installed. I spend 7 hours on the phone trying to get the correct manufacturer number to see if they can replace the item and every number Best Buy customer service provided was incorrect! I am still waiting on a manager to return my call 5 days later to resolve the issue and have yet to return my call! I have purchased several appliances throughout this year and wouldn’t recommend anyone to buy anything from them. My next step is the Better Business Bureau.

The food disposer that was pre installed into my kitchen sink died a while back, I didn’t want to pay somebody to come fix or replace it so I just kind of let it sit there for a while. Anywho, I decided to go ahead and try to replace it on my own when I stumbled across this machine. It’s fairly cheap, I said why not? The box comes with a good instruction manual, I was able to fairly easily swap out my old heavy, busted disposer with this one. Everything you need to swap / install the machine is included, minus the plumbers putty. You’ll need to pick some of that up. If your kitchen sink has an outlet underneath it will be a quick and easy install. It took about an hour (give or take) to do the swap. I was able to install it with the pipe I already have under my sink without a hitch. The gasket even fit perfectly with my old pipe. The machine itself is surprisingly quiet! I would say it probably is half as loud as the previous grinder I had in my sink. It has a low hum. Does not sound like a loud blender. Pretty cool. It does a good job of grinding up the leftovers that the kiddos leave on the plate. I like that it came with a rubber stopper to keep utensils and other small items from falling into the disposer. Would I recommend this? For sure! If you want to do a diy repair / swap of an old disposer it will be a quick easy swap. This was my first time installing one and I got it or right . It is lightweight and easy to install.
