A: Chuck means which is hot, neutral and ground. In the case of 3 prong range cords, The real answer is, these ranges dont have neutral on 3 prongs. the middle wire is the ground. the other 2 are interchangable since both are hot wires. wire the middle one first, then wire the other two to either remaining available spots to wire it to. Once all 3 is wired, you are good to go.
A: I have run in to that before. They look similar it's the amps that makes the deference. If it says both range and dryer that's fine. However a dryer only needs 30 amps a range needs 50 amps so if it says for both it should work if it,s only dryer you would fry the range.
A: I replace mine , paying for something new I felt I should replace this too so that their would be no problems down the line, to me it is worth it.
Q: Can I daisy-chain these together for a longer range, say, 24'?
A: I would say buy a longer cord but really you're better off getting an electrician to move the outlet closer
