I purchased 8 of these speakers to finish off my 9.1.2 theater room. The reviews were all pretty good. I was hesitant in buying these because I wanted to stick with Paradigm. I’ve been using Paradigm speakers for over 20yrs and just love their sound. The price was $169.99 a pair much lower then the Paradigm’s I wanted. The very next day these went on sale for $99.99 a pair. Best Buy wouldn’t match the price because they were already on sale. I ended up returning them all and repurchasing them for the $99.99 price. A friend did the install and that was pretty easy. They look good and they sound excellent on movies. So far I’m very satisfied and would highly recommend buying them. These are “ceiling speakers” however I have them installed in the ceiling and the walls. If you do walls make sure you have the depth. Ceiling is no problem.

I bought 2 sets of these. Put one set in the wall with the tv, and one set in the ceiling over the couch. I also put a center speaker in the wall above the tv and have a Polk subwoofer, all hooked up to an old Onkyo receiver/amp with a digital audio connection from the tv. It sounds pretty amazing!! Great speakers for the price. Note that these are too deep for a normal wall, but I have an extra deep wall. I also painted the grilles. The grilles can only be sprayed, as brushing won’t work with the tiny holes. I used my dark green wall paint, thinned it a lot and used an HVLP sprayer. They came out great. I did not paint the ones in the ceiling, since it’s white. Installation is very simple. They come with a good, stiff template.

I was able to get these price matched on a daily deal, worth every penny. They’re flush and sleek, they would fit into any room. There definitely not worth $700, but for the price that I got them for, they’re worth the price. All around great speaker (clarity, highs everything). I would buy. If my receiver allowed it, I would defiantly buy more. Super easy to install, taking me 15 minutes. I was dreading to install them, but they made it simple to install. For context, I bought them around $169, then price match the next day for $129. Great Deal!

I recently installed the Sonance MAG6R pair in my home theater/ceiling surround setup and here’s how they perform after a few weeks of use: What I like: • The installation was straightforward: the template and mounting hardware made it easy to fit into the ceiling, and the magnetic paintable grilles let them blend in seamlessly. Users consistently report “installation is a breeze.” • The sound quality is very good for ceiling speakers. They deliver clear highs, well-defined mids, and “rich bass” for what ceiling mount speakers can realistically do. One reviewer: “sound is fantastic… installation was a breeze.” • The tweeter and woofer are manually aimable, which gives you flexibility to direct sound toward the listening area rather than straight down. (Helpful when you’re using them for overhead or surround channels.) • Excellent value when you catch them at a deal: many users say the performance punches above the price. My verdict: For most home-theater or multi-room audio setups—especially when you’re looking for in-ceiling speakers for surround or height channels—the MAG6R is a very solid choice. They hit a sweet spot between cost, performance, and installation ease.

These are very capable in-ceiling speakers for the money. Considering the solid build, aesthetics, thoughtful design and noteworthy performance, these speakers cant be beat. I'm replacing a pair of 6.5" Pyle in-ceilings I've had for a year and although they sounded ok I was never happy with them so I started shopping for replacements. Looked at Yamaha, Klipsch and Polk but have always overlooked Sonance due to the MSRP. Also dont think they're worth $600 but definitely a steal for $150 sale price. Glad I waited for it to go back on sale. The Pyles dont even compare to these Sonance speakers. I'm using them for surround sound and they integrate well with my set up. My system is consist of Def Tech BP9040 towers with A90 Atmos toppers, CS9060 center channel speaker and a single SVS SB-2000 subwoofer. All powered by Denon AVR S740H and I'm delighted to say the Sonance MAG6R speakers are able to keep up with my set up with grace especially in movies where tonal timber was very noticeable with the Pyles when sound moves from front to rear. Stand alone they sound decent with more emphasis on the highs in both music and movies. Mid range is satisfyingly crisp and clear. I'm hoping it would sound even better after the break in period but happy with them as is The speakers are made of high quality materials and the packaging is excellent! Install was a cinch. Had to make the original opening bigger to accommodate the size of the Sonance and it took me about 2 hrs including prep work without wiring. They cleanly sit flush in my ceiling as shown in the pictures I uploaded. Check them out. If you're moderately handy, have the proper tools and can follow instructions go for it! You'll be glad you did. Side note: you're probably considering in-ceiling speakers because your space is at a premium or just dont prefer seeing a room full of black boxes (both my case) but desire theater sound. With that in mind dont compare these to full size or even book shelf speakers. Keep it real and they wont disappoint.

The Sonance MAG6R In-Ceiling Speakers deliver excellent sound quality for their size. The 6-1/2” speakers provide clear, rich audio with impressive bass, perfect for music or home theater use. Installation was simple, and the paintable white finish allows them to blend seamlessly with the ceiling. Overall, a fantastic choice for anyone looking for high-quality, discreet in-ceiling speakers!

Bought a few of these pairs of speakers for our new media room upgrade. These are made of very good quality, directional tweeters. My AV guy came and instead of recommending their speakers, said to use these as they sound great. For the price point, this is great deal. Wait for the sale. Got them for $99 and the quality and sound for that price is unbeatable. they are a bit big so not easily interchangeable in the wall but for ceiling, works great. paired with a Marantz, they sound sweet. Consider changing out my original Russound in ceiling speakers to this for whole home audio.

After spending a lot of money on an arc ultra and sub 4, I was underwhelmed by the supposed surround sound performance of the arc ultra. Large open room probably does not help, but there was little sense of immersion, and I was convinced a cheaper option would have been a better idea. Yesterday, I added these in-ceiling speakers I bought on sale from Best Buy, hooked them up to a used Sonos Amp I bought on eBay, added them as surrounds for my arc ultra and it thoroughly transformed the listening experience. If you don’t add surrounds for the ultra, you might be disappointed in its performance. The surrounds are easy to find on sale, and used amps are available on eBay and other resale sites.

Love these speakers in my living room ceiling. Install was quick (if dusty - you do want to pin/tape up some plastic barriers). Sound is full and volume with a mid-range Sony receiver is great and distortion-free. Have not yet tuned the receiver to boost the bass and treble, but was already very impressed with clarity and range when playing some FLAC files. The magnetic grilles are easily removed and attached, if you feel they interfere with the listening experience.

We sold our home and bought a new home. The people who bought our home wanted our very expensive ceiling mounted Mirage speakers. I didn't want to spend that much money again and I wanted the speakers to be more concealed. Sonance, to the rescue. Best Buy says these speakers are $600 speakers on sale for $149. There's an old saying......."if something appears to be too good to be true, it likely is too good to be true." This statement does NOT apply to these Sonance speakers. They are simply better than the price, by a LONG SHOT. They sound unbelievable for $149. They may be the best surround sound speaker I've owned. For so little money, these are simply a no-brainer purchase. They are crisp without being overly bright and the sound stage is amazing. We're hearing things in regular broadcast we've never heard before! I love how flush they are to the ceiling (see the attached photo) and the speaker grill cover attaches magnetically. We had to get our contractor to crawl through the attic to wire these to our primary entertainment system, but even with that added expense, these speakers are the speaker-bargain of the year. Run, don't walk to your Best Buy store or order them online and get these amazing puppies for yourself.

Great price! Absolutely incredible sound. Speakers come with a round grill or for a little extra money you can purchase square grills. We purchased the square for our clients. Easy install, look’s fantastic and the sound blows you away!! Best Buy had these cheaper then my normal supplier ADI global that doesn’t sell to the public, take installer courses, and also Best Buy has their price match guarantee. After I purchased these, they went on sale. Best Buy matched the price no questions asked! I bought probably 10 set’s of speakers, and two surround sound packages thru Best Buy. Speakers are great, but what I am blown away by is Best Buy! Their customer service, pricing, and selection is second to none! Thanks so much!

I tried different in ceiling speakers because the ones that came with the house were not good at all. Some of the ones I tried were from OSD, Emotiva and Monoprice. They all sounded very good but not great. So I took a chance on this Sonance set for one main reason, the woofer and tweeter were able to be aimed at my listing position. WOW!!! Not only did this make a massive difference but the sound that these reproduce are almost identical to my Focal speakers! Even though these are open and don't have an enclosure, they still have great midrange and the tweeter is magnificent! Of the other brands I had also tried ones that had the woofer at an angle but nothing like the Sonance. I would highly recommend these for music and these are mandatory for Atmos!! My Atmos and DTSx are now audible and have a Rich and detailed sound!

These speakers sound great while watching movies and listing to music at low or high volumes. They pack a punch without distortion. Both the main speaker and the tweeter can be positioned independently to direct the sound exactly where you want it. This is great for helping to create the perfect sweat spot in a home theater. Installation was really easy, cut the holes according to the included diagram. Connect the speaker wire and screw the 4 points on the speaker in. The speakers lock right in and are flush! Since these are in a theater, I like showing the woven silky speaker cones off but the magnetic covers hide the speakers easily and look great doing so. Audibly I could tell there was a difference in the sound profile from the Klipsch speakers in my theater system. Audio Files will understand what I mean it’s not a bad thing just different.

Amazing sound at an affordable price. Easy install, hardest part was running the wire. Hooked them up to a Denon receiver and Klipsch 12" wireless sub. I'll be purchasing another pair or 2 when they're on sale again. Highly recommend!

Speakers sound remarkable and speaker wire and built in mounting clips are a perfect design. I actually painted my covers a satin black.

These speakers are very well built and sound great! I like the high quality speaker wire connections and the magnetic grill. They look very clean when installed. I am using these for my whole house audio for my living room.

Great speakers. Comes with housing unit , ready to install in ceiling or wall. Speakers moves once mounted about 20% to adjust area trying to reach. Thought it was a great feature. Has a decent amount of bass and treble. Comes with preset mold for cutting circumference.

I have all B&W for mains and have used Speakercraft for in-ceiling speakers- but these are terrific, especially for the price. Added front height speakers using these- and this addition was the biggest "bang per buck" home theater upgrade I have ever done.

I Bought 2 on sale for my atmos overhead speakers thinking theyd be mediocre at best. NO WAY. They sound great compared to other brands and extremely easy to install. The hardest part was findinf studs and running the speaker wires. Fast forward to this holiday season and found them on sale again for 150.00 a pair. I bought 6 more to replace my JBLs
