On upgrading my PS4 for more storage I wasn't in the neighborhood for a new TV! But after seeing this beauty at a price I couldn't pass up, sorry honey, I pulled the trigger! Man was I glad I did! The refresh rate is stunning for FPS (i.e. Destiny, Call of duty, Titan Fall)! It made my old LCD 1080p Vizio look like a box TV from 1993! Recommend to anyone looking to upgrade to a TV that will blow their socks off!

At $649 this was twice as much as the Vizio 43" I tested for a few weeks. The Sony blows it away. Well worth it...better build quality, more options, and incredible picture.

After reading reviews and looking at this tv in person I decided to go with the 43" model. I purchased this tv on 3/3/17 and wow was I impressed by the picutre quality, color, and sound. However, on 3/21/17 I turned on my tv and black dots appeared everywhere on my screen. So as of right now 4/1/17 I am waiting for geek squad to come to the house and resolve this issue. Aside from that I loved this tv when it worked and hopefully the replacement works until I want to upgrade later on. If it happens a second time I will switch back to Samsung tv's over Sony.

Overall, this is a pretty decent 4k TV for the price. It is only 60Hz refresh rate, but it handles motion very well. Video games (PS4 Pro) look great on it as well as DVD and Bluray content. Awesome TV to get if you're working on a strict budget.

This is my review of this excellent product. At first, I was very baffled by the thin nature of this thing. I really like the overall look of it and enjoy all the benefits and features that it has to offer as well. For those of you wanting to know if it is compatible with the XBOX One S, I can tell you that it is....BUT....you have to know two important things to get it to work right or it won't work. First of all, in order for the XBOX One S to recognize the 60hz, 2.2, and HDR10 requirements, you HAVE TO plug the HDMI cord into Port 2 or 3. Port 1 or 4 do not work for it. Then do a complete power cycle of the XBOX One S (turn it off, unplug it, count to 30, plug it back in, and turn it back on again). When it comes back up, it should automatically detect it and you will be good to go. But wait! There's one more step before you power cycle it! You have to go to the TV's menu settings and change the HDMI output to Enhanced instead of Standard. And use the HDMI cord that comes with the XBOX One S. It took me a whole day to figure both of these things out and lots of time spent with Sony Support Chat and XBox Support Chat. Thanks so much!! LOL But it is a GREAT product and you're getting all the features and benefits of the XBOX One S with it. I don't use it to watch TV. I don't have a cable connection where I keep my television. This is strictly for Netflix, YouTube, and gaming. For those three needs, I am thoroughly impressed! I upgraded from an old Westinghouse 40" LCD 1080p TV with no bells and whistles at all. The thing was bulky and heavy as well. When I got this one, I was like...WOW!!! Definitely amazing.

This was an excellent device for the less than three weeks that it ran properly. Purchased Jan 20th and did not immediately take it out of the box due to wanting to mount it on the wall and keep it away from a toddler. Finally had it up and running after a couple of weeks and it was very nice. Nice picture, nice features, good connectivity. On Feb 19th mid day it started having a flickering vertical band across the screen. If you chat with customer support they direct you to a link which gives you a phone number which sends you to a recording which gives you a different phone number at which time you finally get to talk to a person. That person informed me that their system is down for maintenance and that I can call back later at some undertermined time. If you like customer service run arounds maybe this product is for you....if not you might want to pass. Best Buy will not do anything unless it's been less than 2 weeks since purchase not of operation. Unfortunately they're the only place in town that carries what seemed like a better quality product. Should have gone to target and bought a vizio...at least I'd have been out a lot less money.

My first 4K TV. I absolutely love this TV. Here's why: 1) Upscale for 1080p devices is done perfectly! Tried the LG 49UH6090 and the picture was bad for my Xbox One. It looks wonderful on the Sony 800d. 2) Absoultely no judder while gaming or watching anything! Settings allow you to fine tune your TV as desired. LG 49UH6090 had terrible judder. 3) Slick, thin, premium TV design 4) Designed to hide all the cords connected to the TV 5) So many great features! Voice command remote, all the apps you want, PlayStation Now, stream from phone, etc. 6) Good sound, even without a sound bar. Has an headphone/aux jack as well 7) HDR 8) Easy setup The blacks aren't the greatest of course, but it's really good. The remote isn't lit unfortunately, but each button set has an unique feel. Bottom line, this is an amazing deal for an amazing TV!

Did a fair amount of research on a 43" 4K TV for our bedroom. Our beloved Panasonic died & needed a replacement. In the end, I'm glad I spent the extra coin to purchase the XBR-43X800D. How often does one really replace their bedroom TV? For me, not often. The picture is amazing (DirecTV source) Inky blacks, nice contrast & the colors jump out at you. Do yourself a favor & do a search @ RTINGS.com for the picture adjustments. Too me, they're spot-on. Netflix & Amazon look superb in 4K w/ HDR. Watch "Man in the High Castle" & you'll be amazed. This is a VA panel so don't expect wonderful viewing angles (not an issue for me) I can't believe this is a 60Hz panel! I have little or no motion blur @ all. Sony did a good job with this set. Apps are great & pretty fast overall. I have no issues with Wi-Fi. Yes...It's the most expensive 43" out there today, but it's worth it. My only gripe is the remote. The buttons are simply too close together. Fixed the issue with a $10 RCA universal remote.

I wanted to buy a newer TV that was within my budget and this is it. 4K HDR. I honestly did not think it would make a huge difference compared to my 1080p LED Sharp that was 7 years old, but the quality is amazing. My gaming/TV experience just made a huge leap forward. Apparently 7 years is a lot of time for technology to change. I am so glad I made the decision to switch and just go for it when I was in the store for other reasons. Two days later after purchasing this TV, I sold my old one so it felt like a even better deal. Now I am just waiting for the PS4 Pro so I can use the 4K HDR to it's full potential, but for now even 1080p gets a huge picture quality improvement.

This is a huge change from our previous 1080P flat screen tv (5 years old). The 240 Hz refresh rate eliminates jerky high speed action. Color, contrast, and brightness can be set to whatever level you need. The only disappointment is that the angle of view is really only about 135 degrees, not the 170 claimed. The picture is mostly washed out if you get too far to the side. It is not a serious problem, but I was hoping to be able to watch from a kitchen counter that is maybe 75-80 degrees off of straight ahead. We have not seen any actual 4k content yet, but the picture quality makes it worth the price.

My 9 year old Sony Bravia 40 inch TV turned it off and it would not turn back on the next morning. So I searched the web sites to fine another TV. I am particular. I wanted either a Magnavox, Philips, or Sony Found Best Buy carried the Sony. I bought the 43" X800 series. I had read one review that said the supply cord was to short and I have to agree. It is about a foot & half shorter that the cord on my old Sony. So I had to move my surge protector to the mantel over the fireplace until I can go buy a good extension cord about 2 foot long where I can move everything back to were it was. If you buy a new Sony get a good cord while you are there. That was the reason I gave it a 4 stars. I wanted a TV that still had the hookup for an antenna. Many of the new ones do not have one. It was really easy to setup. The picture compared to the old Sony is much better. Having the built-in wifi is better than using the wifi in the sony dvd player. I am not sure on the sound because I have an old Sony sound bar that I used on my old Sony TV and I just plugged it into the new. I no longer have to use the sound bar volume control because the new tv control will operate the sound bar volume which is great. Comparing the new one to the old one it is a great TV. I hope that I get 9 or 10 years out of this one. I did buy the 2 year protection plan just encase something happens. There is a picture of it. My daughter is watching Sofia off of u-tube.

I installed the my Sony Bravia XBR43X800D and I have been very happy It is very easy to use , the deep of the colors, the contrast, the image is spectacular. I think the HDR functionality even if it is the first generation helps to create an spectacular image. The smart function using google tv is excellent, I can even control the TV with my voice and I am in the process to finish the setup of my Sony Xperia to use it as a remote control including managing the DirectTV DVR and DirectTV guide.

My old tv was a 39 inches sharp 1080p tv which had stopped working so I was looking for a new tv to purchase. I looked for about a month and a half before I decided to purchase this Sony 43 inch 4ktv. It's really slim compared to the other cheaper brands and doesn't feel like cheap plastic either. The quality is really good, however I do think that the brightness could be brighter at its highest setting and darker at its lowest

This tv's 4K and HDR don't disappoint. No matter what video or game (in my case, XBox One S and PC), this tv makes everything pop. The colors are vibrant and the saturation feels just right, especially on foliage shots. I'd recommend using one of the preset video modes for first timers or those who don't want to bother too much with it's Android TV settings. Those can be a bit troublesome at times, especially with the delays between button presses and reactions, but thankfully, it doesn't take away from the rest of the tv. If youre not interested in the "smart" side of the tv, it won't drag you into it. Definitely the best tv I've ever owned, and hope to own for a while.

Got my PS4 set up on this brand new TV. HDR kicks in and it looks amazing. Lag input is minimal, perfect for Call of Duty and Guitar Hero. You have to activate enhanced HDMI and use slots 2 or 3 in order to get best picture. Size is perfect. I find myself in front of the screen anyways so no need for the bigger size TV. 4k picture looks amazing, Star Wars looks beautiful. I loved this tv so much I bought 2.

The 4k Picture Is Great.. The Ease Of Setting The TV Up Was Great.... The Remote Works Our Cable Box As While As Getting Everything From Google And More.... My 75 Year Old Mother Loves It.... Very User Friendly..... The Sound Is Excellent , No Need For A Sound Bar.... Can Get Net flicks,Pandora,Amazon And Much Much More... Nothing Else Needed To Add On To TV.... Only Problem Is It Does Not Come With Owners Manual... You Have To Use Smart Phone To Down Load It.... I Set It Up With Out One.... It's That Easy To Do......

I was a little skeptical at first because I bought it as an open box that was geek squad certified. I don't know why I was. This tv is amazing! I have all of the necessary accessories needed to run 4k and HDR and this tv is just flawless! Setting up was easy and took no time. No complaints from me! Great TV!!

I got this TV for my bedroom to go along with my PS Pro. Absolutely beautiful design and a great panel. Great for HDR gaming too. The sound is pretty good too. Only thing that isn't great is the brightness, but my bedroom is pitch black with blackout curtains, so that's not an issue at all.

I can't honestly say I think this unit is hugely better than the 8-year-old Samsung HD set that petered out a month ago and wasn't worth the cost of repair ... but it's a good television, a modest upgrade in picture quality and we're enjoying it. I wish the remote control had clearly identified buttons for necessary set-up functions and that set-up steps were not so deeply embedded into the software ... it felt like I spent more time than I wanted to spend doing basic set up functions. There are virtually NO written instructions or documentation included with the set so several calls to SONY customer service were required, which generated multiple phone calls with long "hold" times and then e-mailed links to various SONY instructions dealing with my questions. Customer Service was reasonably good and ultimately I managed to get it all done and am reasonably happy with the end result. But the links to instructions, especially for basic issues, could have just been included in the box which would have saved both me and SONY a lot of time on the telephone.
