Went from a DSLR to this mirrorless camera and it has been the absolute best decision ever! Picture are so smooth and clean and the camera is so easy to use as well. I’m not sure if I could ever go back to a dslr. This mirrorless is so lightweight and easy to carry around as well!

I migrated to mirrorless cameras with a Sony NEX 7 about three years ago because of its lighter weight. I had previously owned Canon 7D and Rebel XT bodies and an assortment of lenses. I loved the lighter weight and was very satisfied with the image quality. Along comes the a7 full frame series. I was intrigued, but it wasn't until the a7 II came along that I was ready to pull the trigger. The images from this new camera are really excellent, and I'm very satisfied with my purchase. The only negatives to this camera are a continued paucity of FE lenses and lousy battery life. Sony has announced some new lenses, but nothing has hit the market yet. I will order the FE 24-240 as soon as it appears. (Aside: I have used a Tamron E-mount 18-200 lens on the a7 II and it works fine, but obviously is not a full-frame lens.) Both of the uploaded photos were taken with the FE 28-70 kit lens.

I shoot with a Nikon full frame but wanted something smaller, I found this Sony full frame camera and it's exactly what I was looking for, light and easy to use. I will probably purchase the Sigma 24-70mm in the near future and something that like my Tamron 70-300 that I use on my Nikon. For now the the 28-70mm kit lens is doing fine.

I read somewhere that it doesn’t matter what you use. As long as the camera you have encourages you to get out and photograph, it’s a good camera! THIS is that camera for me. I was a previous Canon user, but seriously... this camera is a GAMECHANGER! I still will need some time to figure out the workings because the layout is very very different, but it’s so worth it. Super solid quality through and through! The battery isn’t as good as my canon, but it is no worries. I’ll just save for the battery extension. I look forward to the many shoots to come with my new Sony :)

Sony has pulled out all the stops on their A7 line of mirrorless cameras and the A7II is no exception. They are so far ahead of the game when it comes to these cameras that the other brands haven't even announced a compact mirrorless full frame and Sony has already released 7 of them. The camera has nearly every feature you could want and the customizable buttons are nothing short of wonderful. Yes the lens selection could be better but it continues to grow with exceptional products and you cannot argue that it's only getting better - especially with the introduction of the Zeiss Loxia 21mm f/2.8 and the Zeiss Batis 25mm f/2. When a company like Zeiss takes the time to put out amazing lenses like these, one should take notice and know that there is a bright future ahead for both the A7 series and the e-mount lens ecosystem. If you're making a switch from canon or Nikon, their are top of the line electronic lens adapters that allow you to keep your current set of glass and if you're in the a-mount family already, the Sony adapters are awesome - especially with the most recent firmware update which enhances the autofocus via the adapters to nearly native response times. Sony is just getting started with full frame mirrorless cameras and I'm very proud to be an owner of their A7II after owning the NEX-5N for years prior!

This is a light ,compact camera loaded with features. The lenses in the kit are versatile and allow for a number of photo possibilities. I shot crop sensor for years, then moved to a Sony a6000. Liking the Sony design I decided to add the a7ii. The lenses and batteries interchange on these two models which is very cost effective. I am very pleased with image quality and with the vibration reduction built into the camera body. I highly recommend this product to anyone.

I love this thing, super easy to use lens provided is really good all around and phenomenal for a beginner. My only complaint would be how overpriced Sony lenses are but you can get adapters on amazon that give you the option to use whatever lenses you desire.

This is a great entry level camera for video and photos. I bought this about 6 weeks ago after a $400 price reduction, and I couldn't be happier. I post YouTube videos, and so I don't need 4K. I bought a good compliment of Sony Zeiss lenses for it which seem to be above average. Even in low light the photos have come out great, and the video is pretty darn good. It has so many features that I am still learning them all. The Auto Focus tracks pretty good. I like the Full Frame over APS-C. The battery could be better like it's bigger cousin, but I just bought the dual battery extension to compensate for this shortfall. Even for a 6 (or so) year old model, This camera is still a solid performer.

Finaly upgraded to the a7 from a canon t7. Such an amazing quality difference for a great price especially when its on sale. I do amateur photography for couples and portraits and havmet gotten any complaints yet.

I have had several Sony mirrorless cameras & also a Nikon & a Canon DSLR. Sony has always been my favorite. I love everything about them. This model of camera was a gift from my husband for Christmas. I have been wanting a full frame for awhile but couldn’t justify spending the money on one. He said he got a very good deal with this one. So far I am very impressed with how fast it is compared with my Sony a6000. Some of the settings are in different places so I am still learning how to use the camera, but I am very impressed so far. The images are beautiful even in low light. (I took pics of my 6mo baby with no light except Christmas lights) The only down side would be how much heavier it is compared to my a6000. That certainly won’t stop me from using it! I am looking forward to all the awesome photos I will be taking with it!

I absolutely love how easy to use this camera is. I am taking stunning photos of my friends and family that an iPhone can't even come close to competing with. I think this is a great camera for someone looking to make awesome videos and take amazing pictures that make it feel like you're actually there. Happy with my purchase.

I purchased this camera for my husband pre black Friday sale. He's been mentioning for awhile now about wanting a semi professional camera so when I saw this one on sale I had to have it. He opened it Christmas Day and I have to say I am genuinely pleased with the quality, stealth and overall appearance of this camera. We immediately took pictures of the kids and wow the detail in the pictures really show. I've already ordered a Lowepro backpack to house the camera in when we go on vacation. If you are thinking about getting a camera I say get it especially while it's still on sale!

To start this camera came out in 2014, I bought it in 2023. I think it is amazing. It has seriously set my heart ablaze and my eye ready to capture. The quality is really awesome as most photos I take I feel I don’t even need to edit. Though this camera has four main things that are draw backs to me. The four things are: 1st, the battery life is pretty limiting, I would strongly suggest getting extra batteries as I feel it would not survive a full day of use. 2nd, the view finder is quite pixelated, this part alone has made me consider returning the camera as I enjoy shooting my photos with the view finder. However the LCD, screen is quite nice. 3rd, the LCD screen it’s awesome but I really wish it could pop out and be covered, swing side and flip around. This screen only pops out and not by much. 4th, it uses micro usb….. honestly if you have extra batteries you likely won’t care as your likely also using a wall plug to charge, however if you buy the camera and that’s it; you will be stuck with the micro usb….. All in all great camera just has a few drawbacks that in my eyes made me consider returning though I have kept it.

This is my first DSLR, though it’s not technically a DSLR because it’s mirrorless. Absolutely fantastic camera, I’m using it for my own enjoyment but also in photography and cinematography college classes. I have only scratched the surface of its capabilities but I’m thoroughly impressed. My photography professor often comments on how it’s a great camera. This review will will be short and sweet from an ex canon user. I was previously shooting with a canon 70d so this is an upgrade for me. Image wise there's no doubt amazing quality with high ISO and little grain as opposed to the 70D. I love this camera minus some key features it's missing, touch screen, an app that has ability to adjust shutter speed/aperture, and built in apps. My main grip is the fact you can't adjust shutter speed or aperture with Sony memories app on the A7 II. Other than that the camera surpasses my previous crop sensor and takes amazing high res images!

Great camera, easy to use and very affordable. I recommend this camera 100% especially for beginners!

Awesome camera. I’m a film student and learning to use the camera has been amazing. If the screen was flippable it would be soo much better but other than that it’s great. I knew what I was getting when I bought. The screen doesn’t bother me much because I have a monitor to be able to see myself when I’m filming alone. If you’re doing projects make sure to get extra batteries. I love my camera so far and can’t wait for my future projects using this camera!

Although there was a learning curve after using a Canon for so many years the fine detail and stunning color of pictures with the Sony Alpha a7ii is amazing! Especially coupled with a 300 mm zoom lens it is spectacular for capturing true to color portraits, scenes, action shots and my favorite....birds! Even taking shots from a distance and printing up to 13x19 prints the details down to the feathers, eyes and toenails of my favorite creatures are amazing. This is my second Sony Alpha7ii camera as I flipped my kayak unexpectantly while shooting photos and happy to have another.....

I am so excited about this new purchase! I am able to shoot in much lower light and it fits into my dive housing. My test shots alone have been of great quality so I can't wait to take it on some new adventures!
