Perfect for car photography. At a staggering f1.4 m, the bokeh effect is awesome. One lens that you must have in your bag if you love car photography and portraits. It’s lightweight, and compact enough to carry on your side bag without needing to take extra room in your backpack. Highly recommend!

After 3 months of owning, this lens has pretty much stayed on my Sony A7IV for shooting product, lifestyle, live event, and portraits. It’s true when they say a 35mm is the best story telling lens, but seeing that story through this 1.4 GM makes the story unforgettable. To sum it all up: Unreal versatility. Super sharp. Compact. I have no regrets.

It's not the most portable out there, but if you're looking for the most pristine images out of your Sony camera in 35mm format, then this is the lens for you. I think the Sony 35mm F2.8 ZA lens is a fantastic alternative if you don't mind a slower lens that is ultra compact and lightweight.

This Sony 35mm has been a staple in my kit. It’s sharp, focuses fast, and gives that natural, versatile look that works for almost anything. I use it for lifestyle, portraits, and run and gun video, and it consistently delivers clean images with great contrast and a really nice depth of field without feeling overly dramatic. Autofocus is quick and reliable, which matters a lot when you’re moving fast or filming people. It’s also a comfortable lens to keep on the camera all day, especially when you want something lighter than a zoom but still flexible enough for real world shooting. I've had this lens for a month now, and it has become my favorite lens. The images off this come out so sharp even wide open. The focal length is perfect for environmental portraits. It has some beautiful bokeh, and the falloff is superb! There's is some vignetting, but that's easily fixed in post. The focus breathing is very obvious when using in manual mode, but it's less noticable when just using it on AF. For photography, it has to be one of the best lenses Sony has put out.

The lens is very good in all lighting conditions. Impressive sharpness. The build quality and the aperture ring is just superb. It is worth the price tag. I have attached the sample photographs taken through this lens.

Best lense! I love this lense for families, or bigger group settings and just photography in general. This lens is fast I would highly recommend. I use it for animal portraits and the way this lens just stays locked onto the subject is ridiculous.

Amazing all-around Full Frame Lens for any Sony A7 model. Focus is fast, minimal breathing during autofocus, very durable build, wide field of view, and despite it being a prime lens, photos are sharp enough to crop into whatever you wanted to zoom in on. For the current price, there is no better value on a G Master lens.

I researched a single lens that would capture most of my everyday moments and for street photography. I ended up with this 35mm GM lens at the top of the list; however, many have noticed it is not an inexpensive lens. Not being a pro photographer nor rich, it took a minute to decide. After having this lens for a few weeks, I do not have buyer's remorse. I wish I had a zoom lens on a couple of occasions, but the finished product this lens produces without editing is impressive. This is such a versatile lens. It’s always been my dream lens and I finally got it last month. It lived up to all of my expectations. Actually, it exceeded them. So far I’ve shot portraits, flower photos, animal photos, and even done some street photography with it. The mechanics of this lens are amazing. I almost went with the Sigma but after watching reviews I chose to go with the G-Master and I’m so glad I did. The better quality is well worth the extra money.

I have the FE version of this from Sony. And upgrading from that to the G Master is night and day. I’m a prime lens person and when Sony announced they were releasing a G master version of the 35 I was stoke. Yeah they have the Sigma, but I’ve always branded myself with Sony and I don’t regret picking this up.

I do a lot a landscape/portrait photography, and this lens is just perfect to me. I own a Sony a7IV, and the 35mm g master works really well with it. Compatibility wise, it pairs well with the 7IV and it’s software. The clarity and bokeh really stand out. I’m interested in getting an 85mm at some point for portraits, but you can’t go wrong with this lens!
