The Sony BRAVIA Rear Speakers are a great addition for anyone looking to create a more immersive home theater experience. They deliver clear surround effects, helping movies, shows, and games feel more engaging and realistic. Setup is straightforward when paired with compatible BRAVIA theater systems, and the wireless design keeps cable clutter to a minimum. While they perform best in small to medium-sized rooms, the sound quality is impressive, with good detail and balanced audio. Overall, they're a solid upgrade for users who want true surround sound without a complicated installation.

If you already own a high-end Sony soundbar or a compatible BRAVIA television and you are wondering whether adding the Sony BRAVIA Theater Rear 8 wireless rear speakers is truly worth the investment, let me put all your doubts completely to rest. These speakers are the absolute missing puzzle piece that takes an already impressive home theater setup and elevates it into a mind-blowing, reference-grade cinematic experience. From the moment you unbox them, the attention to detail and premium craftsmanship are immediately evident. The compact, cylindrical design is sophisticated, sleek, and understated, wrapped in a gorgeous acoustic mesh that blends effortlessly into any living room decor without looking bulky, obtrusive, or out of place on a bookshelf, speaker stand, or wall mount. They manage to pack an incredible amount of acoustic engineering into a surprisingly small footprint, proving that you do not need massive, unsightly box speakers dominating your room to achieve world-class audio immersion.Setting up the Rear 8 speakers is an absolute masterclass in user-friendly design. Traditional surround sound systems used to require running long, messy copper speaker wires across your living room floor, under area rugs, or awkwardly pinned along baseboards just to get rear channel separation. Sony completely eliminates that headache with a brilliantly executed wireless architecture. Each speaker simply plugs into a nearby wall outlet for power, and they connect wirelessly to your main soundbar or compatible BRAVIA TV via a rock-solid Wi-Fi connection. The entire pairing and calibration process is handled smoothly through the intuitive BRAVIA Connect app on your smartphone. Within minutes, the system automatically runs its built-in acoustic calibration, measuring your room’s dimensions, furniture placement, and wall reflections to optimize audio dispersion specifically for your space. It is entirely painless, fast, and completely free of frustrating technical hurdles. Of course, all the convenience in the world wouldn't matter if the audio performance didn't deliver, and this is where the BRAVIA Theater Rear 8 truly shines like an absolute champion. Equipped with a sophisticated two-way speaker design featuring a dedicated woofer and a crisp dome tweeter, these units push out clean, beautifully balanced audio that handles every nuance of a complex soundtrack with effortless grace. When paired with a compatible Sony soundbar supporting Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, the integration of 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology creates a vast, multi-dimensional dome of sound. Instead of sound just coming from the front bar, the system generates precise virtual phantom speakers all around and above you, wrapping you entirely in the auditory environment of whatever you are watching. When you fire up an action-heavy blockbuster or a sci-fi epic, the transformation is staggering. Subtle background details—like rain pattering behind your head, wind howling through a desolate canyon, or footsteps creeping up silently from behind—are rendered with pinpoint directional accuracy. During high-octane battle scenes, bullets whizzing past your ears and explosions echoing through the rear channels make you feel like you are standing right in the middle of a commercial movie theater rather than sitting on your couch at home. Dialogue remains anchored cleanly to the front soundbar while the rear channels envelop you in an expansive, immersive atmosphere that completely dissolves the physical walls of your living room.Even when you are just streaming regular television broadcasts, listening to music playlists via Bluetooth, or gaming on a next-generation console, these speakers add a rich layer of depth and spaciousness that makes standard audio feel flat by comparison. The acoustic separation is remarkable, ensuring that instruments in complex music tracks or ambient environmental sounds in open-world video games never get muddy or lost in the mix.Every single aspect of the Sony BRAVIA Theater Rear 8 wireless rear speakers reflects a deep commitment to uncompromising audio quality, sleek modern aesthetics, and effortless user convenience. They solve all the historic frustrations of rear-channel speaker setups by delivering wireless flexibility without sacrificing an ounce of performance. If you want to experience your favorite films, games, and music the exact way audio engineers and filmmakers intended, adding these rear speakers to your setup is a mandatory upgrade. Hands down one of the best home theater purchases I have ever made, earning my absolute highest recommendation without a single reservation.

These speakers are a game changer. We bought a Sony soundbar and sub woofer last year. We weren’t very happy with it, just wasn’t loud enough, seemed underpowered. We went to BestBuy to check out some other speakers and the salesman showed us these rear speakers that go with our soundbar and subwoofer. They sounded really good in the store so we bought them. WOW, what a difference it made.

Maybe a bit pricey, but so easy to set up and the sound is terrific, so perhaps worth the price. I added this to an existing Bravia soundbar.

This was a Xmas present to myself. I already had the Bravia 8 soundbar and woofer, but I really wanted the rear speakers. I scored an open box pair at a great price, which were in pristine condition. Setup was easy, and they really fill out the sound. I thought I saw other people complaining about the volume, but it's adjustable on the TV so I'm not sure what their issue was. In fact I've even turned them up too loud at times. Sometimes I forget they're there, and a sound comes out of them and scares the heck out of me, not being used to sounds coming from behind me :). For speakers as small as they are, they really put out a good sound. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

These work great with my Sony soundbar. The clarity and distance of noise is excellent. The set up of these speakers was incredibly easy; plug it in, connect to your tv/soundbar, run auto calibration, and enjoy your speakers.

Sony is definitely an underrated brand that keeps surprising me with every purchase I make. Went to the store to get a sonos or Samsung soundbar and walked out with the whole theater set. I recommend 1000%, not the loudest, but crispy clean sound

Once the calibration is run these speakers do a great job making the sound seem real and coming from places that aren't actual speakers

The best surround sound I’ve heard. For my space and setup these were perfect and sound insanely good! You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent sound quality and extremely easy install. Exceeded my expectations

Adds a great rear sound. Speakers pair up perfectly to the bravia 8 soundbar. Soind great

Sound quality is great and set up is very easy. Would recommend.

Great Speakers, Great sound, Love them, Easy set up in app,

I love these speakers. They do the job very well. I have them paired with my Bravia 8 bar and SW3 speaker. They are assigned to my Sony A95L. It's perfect for my Master Bedroom use.

So far I am very pleased with the sound quality and performance. However, for some unknown reason it has been repeatedly dropping its connection with a Sony straz3000es receiver that I previously owned. I have since ordered the Sony straz5000es which I hope it will work wit and remain connected.

I now enjoy the true big screen experience with the addition of these speakers

I recently added these rear speakers to my home surround sound setup, and I’m really impressed with the quality! The sound is rich, balanced, and fills the room beautifully, making movie nights feel like being in a theater. The build quality is solid, and the wireless connection is reliable with no noticeable lag or dropouts. My only small wish is that the instructions include more precise guidance on how to integrate the speakers into an existing surround sound system. It took a bit of trial and error to get everything perfectly synced, but once set up, they performed flawlessly. Overall, this is an excellent addition for anyone looking to upgrade their home audio experience.
