Customer Ratings & Reviews

It has been really fun to shoot this camera, the pictures that come out of it are extremely sharp. The raw files are super easy to manipulate, also very surprised the battery life is pretty decent for the size of that thing.

I recently picked up the Sony RX100 Cyber-shot, and I’m honestly really impressed with how powerful this compact camera is. The image quality is outstanding, with sharp details, great color accuracy, and strong performance even in low light. What really stands out is how much performance you get in such a small, portable body. It’s easy to carry around everywhere, making it perfect for travel, everyday shooting, or content creation. The autofocus is fast and reliable, and the video quality is excellent as well. The controls and menu system take a little getting used to at first, but once you dial it in, it becomes a really versatile tool. It feels like a professional camera that fits in your pocket. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase. It’s a great option if you want high-quality photos and video without carrying around a bulky setup.

I have had many point and shoots over my lifetime, most recently selling my G7X Mk3. I have been shooting mirrorless and dslrs for about 10 years so i thought that nothing would compare to the quality I get from my larger cameras. I go to a lot of concerts and my S24 Ultra is capable, but i havent been happy with the photo quality and wanted to try again so i bought this little guy. WoW! Dont let the 1inch sensor fool you, it is very capable in such a small package. Shooting raw adds a lot of capabilities for editing and the 200mm zoom adds all of the reach. This little thing goes with me on any adventure i take now. It has been a compliment in my travel kit, it goes to sports games, and concerts everytime I leave the house. This one wont be getting sold unless a VIII is manufactured. Its old, but its not out of date.

This latest Sony RX 100 camera has excellent advanced features. The optical zoom is increased, the viewfinder opens and shuts with a single click or push to close and maybe the best of all the autofocus is amazing. Depending on the shot, the lens will focus on the dominant object in the middle of the frame, unless you tap the screen to set the area you want in focus. If people are in the frame, it will lock on the faces and when possible, will lock on their eyes for amazing shots. I like the compact size with advanced manual features for creative work. The only negatives I found were; The video button is very small and hard to find if you are using the viewfinder to take a video and the camera is somewhat slippery to hold. I tried the leather screw-on case but didn’t like the long neck strap and the large screw on the bottom caused you to lay the camera on the lens or LCD screen. I added the Sony stick-on grip to the front and that helps. I’ve had several Sony cameras and this is the best by far.

The most effective compact point-and-shoot camera I have used. PROS: I can capture the desired images in environments where a larger lens system would be impractical/not allowed. It has outperformed and has definitively replaced my smartphone. I’ve had people who’ve never use a camera pick this one up and take stunning photos. CONS: price point, the screen when flipped is fixed to a certain point so u can’t take selfies without a portion of the screen is blocked.

I’ve been using the Sony RX100 VII mainly because I wanted something I could carry around without dealing with a bigger camera body and multiple lenses. After actually spending time with it, I think that’s where this camera makes the most sense. The 24-200mm lens is probably my favorite thing about it. Having that much range in such a small camera is extremely convenient. I can shoot at 24mm for wider shots and then zoom all the way in for portraits or details without changing anything. I’ve found myself carrying the camera more often simply because it’s so small. Autofocus has also been excellent. Face and eye detection are fast, and once it grabs the subject it usually stays locked on. This has been especially useful when taking pictures of people because I don’t have to constantly think about the focus point. Image quality during the day is very good. RAW files also give me plenty of room to edit afterward. I originally expected to use a lot of manual settings, but honestly, I often end up using Program Auto and letting the camera handle most of it. When something is happening quickly, I would rather get the shot than spend time changing settings. Low light is where I notice the biggest limitation. The camera can still produce good pictures, but once the ISO starts getting high, you can tell this isn’t a full-frame or APS-C camera. The lens also gets slower as you zoom in, so indoor and nighttime shooting requires a little more attention to shutter speed and ISO. The built-in flash is surprisingly useful, although getting a natural-looking background with flash can take some experimenting. I also like having the pop-up EVF. It’s one of those features I didn’t think I would care much about until I actually started using it outside in bright sunlight. My biggest complaint is probably Sony’s learning curve. This camera can do a ridiculous amount for its size, but there are also a lot of settings. At first I spent more time figuring out autofocus modes, ISO limits, shutter speeds, and other options than I expected. Once I got my basic settings figured out, it became much easier to just pick it up and shoot. Battery life is okay, not amazing. If I know I’m going to be shooting a lot, I wouldn’t want to rely on one battery. Overall, I think the RX100 VII makes the most sense for someone who values portability more than having the absolute best possible image quality. A larger interchangeable-lens camera can obviously outperform it in some situations, especially low light, but that camera also isn’t going to fit in my pocket. That’s really why I like the RX100 VII. It’s not the best camera at everything. It’s a camera that I’m actually willing to bring with me, and it packs an impressive amount of capability into something this small.

I have a passion for live music performances, and I'm always on the lookout for a reliable camera that can capture the essence of the moment. Luckily, I've stumbled upon a game-changing device that ticks all the boxes. What sets it apart is its versatility - it's allowed in both local theaters and massive stadiums. But that's not all; with 20.1 megapixels and an F-stop of 2.8, it produces stunning, high-quality images that are sure to impress. Another perk is its compact size - measuring just 2.3 inches in height, 4 inches in width, and 1.7 inches in depth, and weighing only 272.1 grams - it's incredibly easy to carry around. Whether you're in the front row or up in the nosebleeds, you can rest assured that you'll capture all the action with stunning clarity and precision with this camera. This camera boasts a touch screen that rotates a full 180 degrees, making it the ideal tool for capturing those perfect selfies. The audio quality is nothing short of exceptional, while its video quality at 4k, 30fps is truly impressive. However, I have noticed that the lens may retract slowly when turning off the camera, which can be somewhat problematic when one is in a rush to store it away. In my personal experience as a fellow enthusiast, I wholeheartedly advocate for this particular camera model as the ultimate all-in-one option that can fulfill all of your photography needs. Examples of pictures taken can be found in instgram @zamorraaaa.

I've always preferred point-and-shoot cameras over taking photos with a mobile phone, and like the ease of toting it around over a DSLR. My last 3 cameras were Panasonic Lumix but my camera was acting up (lens not opening, shutting, zooming properly), two weeks before my big trip to France. After doing some research and price comparisons, I ended up at my local Best Buy to see the different models in person, plus they offered a trade-in on my old camera, which saved me some money. I ultimately traded up to the Sony and was very happy with the results. I'm still re-learning the settings over my years of shooting with the Lumix. The larger sensor really makes a difference. Uploading photos to my phone is so easy, especially the "all images from this date" setting, as I post my travel photos on social media.

When I don't feel like carrying my A7R III I grab my RX100 VII. This camera takes video footage and photos the fit it well with footage and photos taken with my A7R III but it's a lot easier to carry around and less intimidating to others when I'm out and about. Well it use to be less intimidating to others when I'm out but now I've added a small cage to it so I could also attach a light and an external mic to it. The high quality footage I get from this camera is awesome! I also own the older RX100 V an and the RX100 VI. - 24-200mm is great for all day walk around camera - Touch screen perfect for use when vlogging - Most welcomed upgrade is the port for plugging in an external mic Only thing missing is that the older V was 1.8 and this one is 2.8 which should mean the older version V should be better in low light but so far (without testing) I haven't really noticed it.

This camera has fast focus and massive zoom in a compact camera. Very nice travel camera. Took it to a two week Thailand trip and was very happy with it.

i love this camera! the quality is amazing for how small it is, and it takes really nice photos even in low light (like this sunset pic). it’s easy to use, lightweight, and perfect for trips or everyday pictures.

“I’ve been using the Sony RX100 VII and it’s honestly amazing. The image quality is super sharp, and the autofocus is incredibly fast—perfect for capturing quick moments. I love how compact it is; it fits in my bag or pocket, so I can take it everywhere. The 4K video is super clear, and even in low light, the photos look great. It feels like a pro camera in a small body—perfect for everyday use, travel, and even vlogging

I had hoped for a very small, feature-laden digital camera with plenty of optical zoom, and that's exactly what I got. I've used Canon SLRs in the past for vacations, family events, etc., but I grew tired of having to lug around a big, bulky camera. Over the past few years I've been using the nicer iPhones, and while they're really great at taking pictures under most conditions, the absence of an optical zoom and the small aperture for night shots left me wanting more on so many occasions. I would likely have been happy enough with one of the previous models, but the new VII took the optical zoom from 3x to 8x... and I just couldn't pass that up considering having a good optical zoom was one of my top priorities. The RX100 VII was about double what I wanted to spend, but I didn't want to compromise on features and end up with a camera that I would often wish had feature X or feature Y, so I just went for it. And I'm glad I did. I don't know how Sony managed to cram everything into a camera that slides into a front pants pocket, but I'm glad they did.

The Sony RX100 VII is arguably the best compact camera on the market, offering DSLR-level performance in a tiny package. While its premium price tag might be a hurdle, the cutting-edge autofocus, superb image and video quality, and outstanding portability make it well worth the investment. Whether you’re a professional looking for a secondary camera or an enthusiast wanting the best travel companion, the RX100 VII won’t disappoint.

[Employee of bestbuy] Absolutely love the camera. Tried out an a6400 before this one and while that one is a solid camera as well, the RX100vii is an amazing compact digital camera. The size of this thing is its best advantage and my favorite thing about it. And the shots are just crisp as can be love it

I bought this camera for a vacation abroad. I have very little experience in photography but I found this to be pretty easy to use, especially once I got used to the menu system. At first I wasn't over the moon about the image quality using auto but once I started to get the hang of settings using P mode, controlling Fstop and shutter speed and letting the camera set the ISO, I was really happy with the images. I know this is an expensive purchase but in all honesty, I felt like it was well worth it. I highly recommend getting another battery and the little stick on grip that Sony sells for this.

I've had the RX100 VII for almost a month now, and still feel like I have barely scratched the surface of its capabilities. I was searching for something with the portability of a cell phone and the image quality of a mirrorless camera, and this little thing covers all bases admirably. It's not a cheap camera, but you get so many features for the price.

Love this camera! Lightweight, great photos, can bring it into concerts without an issue.

Pros: This little camera is perfect for travelers. It's small enough to fit your pocket, but powerful enough to take a high-resolution picture (15 MB). It gives you a sharp image. The cons are that it needs lots of light to produce good-quality photos and that the price is high compared to the other point-and-shoot cameras.

Originally wanted the g7x but everyone knows it’s sold out literally everywhere! Instead of paying close to that amount for a resale, did some research and found much better reviews about this camera. Decided to go for it & not 1 regret. Once you figure settings out, it’s amazing… I just looked at tik toks for help with settings.
