The Sony ECM-W3S Wireless Microphone System is a compact and versatile solution for interviews, vlogging, and mobile content creation with Sony cameras, computers, and smartphones. It includes one clip-on transmitter with a built-in MEMS microphone and a compact receiver that connects directly to a camera via the Multi Interface Shoe. Both digital and analog audio signals are supported with mixed or separate channel recording modes for flexible workflows. Mounted to a compatible Sony camera, the MI Shoe provides a direct digital audio signal while also powering the receiver, eliminating cables. Integrated 3.5mm TRS and USB-C ports further expand compatibility with other cameras, laptops, and smartphones. Communication is handled via Bluetooth 5.3 with LC3plus codec, providing low-latency, energy-efficient audio transmission up to 492 feet. The transmitter captures clear, low-noise sound using a MEMS microphone and includes noise cut and low-cut filters to suppress interference and reduce rumble. Three attenuation settings at 0, 10, or 20 dB prevent distortion from loud sources, and an external microphone can be connected through the 3.5mm jack.
