Been using this lens for a bit and it’s quickly become a go-to. Super wide, really sharp, and that f/1.8 actually makes a difference in low light. It’s lightweight, easy to carry, and the autofocus is fast and reliable, especially for video. Great for tight spaces, real estate, or getting that cinematic wide look without crazy distortion. The best part for me is having a lightweight prime on a gimbal, makes everything easier and more balanced. Honestly, one of the most useful lenses I’ve added to my kit.

The build is solid and premium, with weather sealing. Also it has a clickable aperture ring and a button to hold focus. Being a G class lense, you know the build quality is consistent and dependable but it’s not just a spec monster - this is a fun lense. Being a prime, the 16mm is made for wide shots/footage - perfect for sweeping landscapes, epic starry night skies (the bright f/1.8 lets in tons of light for milky way photos without crazy long exposures), cool architecture like tall buildings without stepping way back, and even fun close-ups with blurry backgrounds, for that dramatic look. It’s a good investment!
