If your looking to shoot at night and mostly portrate, this lens will do the job. I don't recomend it for Landscape,

It doesn't go to 2.8 I'm so confused.

I wish I could return it. I used it once and thought I would get better bouquet. So expensive I think its the worst lens Sony has made. Went to BandH and they said why did you buy that lens, it's the worst.

Hi Jlguerra68, we are sorry to hear that the 100mm f/2.8 GM STF did not meet your expectations. While the aperture is f/2.8, the ADP filter present in the lens responsible for the great bokeh this lens can create, does reduce the amount of light to T5.6.
