Q: Does the camera have night vision? And is it waterproof?
A: It's got a low light mode, but no night vision. And it is definitely NOT waterproof. The entire lens and sensor assembly is basically floating inside the body, if water were to get in through those seams it would brick it in short order.
A: You can export your videos and pictures only to a computer with the USB port. From the computer, you would transfer it to a DVD burner or editing software.
Q: How long can you record for before camera goes to sleep or battery dies?
A: I’ve gotten as much as 3.5 hours continuous record time

Q: Does this camera have a view finder? (Not the screen)
A: No, it doesn't. The FDR-AX53 is the model that has an EVF (viewfinder). However be aware it is very poor quality. Hope that helps!
Q: Can I use a remote wireless microphone or lavalier microphone with this camera?
A: Yes - though depending on the exact model of mic it might require you to purchase some accessories that expands its input options. Out of the box it only supports external mics using a standard 3.5mm minijack.
Q: Can you control the camera from cellphone? Like zoom features?
A: You can. It requires the download of a separate app from Sony called Imaging Edge Mobile and going through a brief pairing process. Once that's done your phone basically acts like an external version of the camera's built in touchscreen.
Q: Does it come with a battery and card or do you have to buy those separately?

great to work with
after looking into a lot of cameras and camcorders, for what we needed this not only fit the price but had a lot of features we wanted. I have had the ax43 for about two weeks now and i am still loven the camcorder so much that i want to get one more. The only thing that would be better is the 6600 for the XT4, witch cost more and at the time are not out yet.

We use this camera at our church and it has been amazing! The picture quality is excellent. We use it to record livestreams for Facebook and YouTube.
