The Sony WM1a is great digital audio player, it can play just about any file format you throw at it. Ascetically speaking, the devise has a beautiful design, however sony decided to go with a 4.4mm balanced female jack which not a lot of headphone manufactures include such jack so if you plan on using that output then you should also take that into account. My biggest gripe with the devise is the user interface, it is a little sluggish, it scrolling through playlists feels like you are using a smartphone from 2009- refresh rate is pretty bad compared to todays smartphones.

Sony nailed it with this player. The sound stage for this is very wide, there is enough bass and the highs and mids are well balanced as well. The built quality is superb and will easly last many years.

I was excited to try out this hi-resolution music player, however, the device was dead out of the box. It would not take a charge, I attempted using a variety of different chargers and my computer, but it was simply dead.

I have had this for well over a year and I am still amazed by the quality of it . Having put up with the quality of an Ipod for years , it is great to have a portable player that keeps and plays uncompressed audio files .
