Q: Can I adjust the volume without using the app or another device to control the volume?
A: Yes, initially out of the box I'm not sure, once you get them paired to your phone download the Sony App, from there you can assign what the touch sensers do for you. I have mine set so tapping the left bud turns up the volume, and touching the bud constantly turns down the volume.
A: They do. I’ve had 2 of these and both of them drain like crazy, going from 100 to 20% after about an hour.

If you charge the charging case in advance, it can charge the LinkBuds wirelessly. Unfortunately, the supplied case doesn't support wireless chargers. Charging is supported by using a personal computer with a standard USB port or a commercially available USB AC adaptor capable of supplying an output current of 0.5 A (500 mA) or more. If headphones that support wireless chargers are your priority, then we can recommend you our WF1000XM4. The supplied case of these headphones supports wireless chargers. Q: Could these be worn for hearing protection?
A: For a concert or football game, sure. For the gun range or mowing the lawn, not so much. I have tried many ANC while mowing and it tends to eventually blow the speaker trying to compensate.
